I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

better keep it on a PC wallet then write the seed code on a paper or on something that you can physically keep, try to put codes on it or jumble it then delete your PC wallet and forget about . just visit it after 10 years.

Never keep your coins on an exchange. Use a hardware wallet (or paper wallet if you're hard core) for your savings account/major balances. I highly recommend the Ledger Nano S.

I would not trust an online storage site or an exchange with a large amount of money. I would only put money on an exchange for trading and I would keep some stored separately in a secure location. So the question is what is a secure location? Most people would say an offline paper wallet is the most secure. If you know that no one has the private key, then that probably is the most secure. You would need to make sure you keep the wallet address and private key where you can get to them but they are secure like in a safe deposit box or a safe.  As long as you do that, you should be fine.

Then the problem is what happens if you die and you want a beneficiary to have access to the coins. For this situation, you may need to leave instructions on what to do with the keys in a will or in the safe. I have heard of people keeping the public and private keys on a thumb drive, but I have heard that the data may not last forever on those, so a paper wallet is probably best.

I keep my BTC in an online wallet. I want to invest more on Bitcoin too, Please would you kindly tell me how to get the paper wallet? Thank you.

I think the best way to keep you bitcoin is to purposely use it? Bitcoin is not a defined value it fluctuates and changes over time and for me the best way to properly utilize this chane in value is to continuesly circle it in different bitcoin fields rather than let it sit for a long time.

I just store my coins in trusted online wallet like blockhain. I also have the private key just in case something happens to the site.

Offline wallet because whenever there is a emergency or in case you need to use your bitcoin for other purposes maybe for billings and loads you can immediately use it and much more safer because whenever you go online threats are everywhere in the internet just one click of advertisements there might be a virus or a way of hacker to gain access to your account.

to deposit my coins through online I think is very risky so in my opinion.we should be able to see the price of our coins if our coins are already in a favorable state should we exchange what we sell with the currency that applies in our country if in my opinion

I use online wallet, I only have one wallet but that wallet is so legit so I did not mind or do not have any worries that I might be scammed or my priced bitcoin will be gone.  And the best thing about it, it is connected to many establishments.  Through it I can buy loads, pay my bills, even pay tuition fees.  And best of all they have rebates.  My friends used to have 1 to 3 more wallets because they do not want that their bitcoin was placed in one wallet.

Online wallet is the most efficient way now for storing bitcoin since bitcoin holders nowadays are preferred to do short trading rather than just wait for a year. I preferred online wallet too since my bitcoin is just small amount and I always buying on online merchant using bitcoin as mode of payment. Offline wallets sometime are too complicated especially for a computer that has a poor performance, Syncing of wallet takes time and too much electricity. At last, I love online wallet because i can access my bitcoin through my mobile phone anytime and everywhere that has an internet connection.

I keep my Bitcoins in blockchain.info and in Bittrex exchange.
However, for sake of my project purposes, I need to open extra safe browser-based multi-wallet, where I can easily control private keys and keep them offline.

Is blockchain.info considered an exchange wallet? I'm using some exchanges but want to move to a safer online option. Do you think this would be a good option?

I dont advice to hold your hard earned bitcoin in online wallet. If you want to use exchanges go to bittrex,poloniex,c-cex and other exchanges.Safe way to hold your bitcoin is desktop and paper wallets.

I store my bitcoin in my wallet and when I needed it I just cash it out to spend or put in the bank for my savings.I am not storing my coins in wallet for too long to be safe also.If the price is higher I put it in btc and when it is lower I put it back in peso to make the price stable.

trezor and nano Ledger are the best wallet choices for you, but blockchain has never had a serious problem until now, we can not choose the best because it's actually our belief that will make them better prepared in maintaining user accounts.

Exchange wallet is very effective for transaction orders, if you want to keep Bitcoin in large quantities you should start using hardwallet.
