For much long now I have never place bet with a higher amount but there was a bet i placed few days ago and i was tempted to increase my wager from what it should be before, Let say i often gamble with at least 200 Naira and maximum is 2,000 for a multiple bets.
How much is the amount you often gamble with and the maximum amount you mentioned in US dollars?

Quote
Again why do you regret after putting smaller amounts and it happens the games went as planned and starts blaming yourself for not increasing your bet amount, maybe by now you could have cashed out big time.
I never have regrets. Most times I follow my gambling budget. It is only on rare occasions that I go with my instincts and bet above that. If I win, I am happy. If I don't, I move on. What's there to regret.

Quote
How do you control this thought over your ends do you keep to your regulations of always placing bets with some limits or you place bet according to your mind and regrets after losing that amount for not following your limits?

I engaged in other outdoor activities. When I feel this way, it is head telling me that I am becoming obsessed and slowly addicted to gambling.

Lets discuss wisely and if something related to this post please point it out.. Maybe would devote time to study what has been written over there.

Just enjoy the gambling games you play and the winnings you get regardless of the amount, don't let a small win you miss and a big win you can't achieve which in the end you will only find a loss every time you play gambling

Being able to get back the capital in a gamble that I do is enough to make me grateful. Big wins are not my main goal in gambling although everyone wants that. I can laugh out loud when I do gambling with friends and can relieve stress in the gambling that I do that is my goal in gambling not pursuing profit and hoping that by doing gambling can change my life financially.
Maybe not everyone can do the same thing as you do. If we are greedy in gambling, of course we will miss out on small wins hoping for a big win and we won't achieve it because we can't enjoy gambling like you play. Choosing to gamble just to have fun with friends who have the same thoughts is a very enjoyable thing and if we lose it doesn't make us stressed, but in my opinion pursuing profits in gambling is something that is impossible to do because even if we win once of course we have experienced several defeats before.

do you go ahead placing the bet as your minds speaks or do only maintain to your limits whether it plays or not doesn't matter.
Both, it varies at most times depending on what I think and what I feel. So that means to me that my emotion is setting the mood.

Again why do you regret after putting smaller amounts and it happens the games went as planned and starts blaming yourself for not increasing your bet amount, maybe by now you could have cashed out big time.
That's normal but when you lose with that small amount that you've placed as a bet, you'll not feel anything bad at all because that's an affordable amount to lose.

How do you control this thought over your ends do you keep to your regulations of always placing bets with some limits or you place bet according to your mind and regrets after losing that amount for not following your limits?
Everyone is regretting when we lose every time we bet. That's the after shock that we get because we thought that we're lucky and it's gonna be our lucky day.

But when the results aren't favorable for us, that's when we get disappointed. Just accept the fact and realization will make you control your thoughts and emotions.

And that is because you've got no control of what's about to happen.

Greediness in gambling is from luck, that's what I have experienced from years of gambling. If you keep winning on slots, or baccarat, then you must be a lucky bettor, then the greed comes in thinking you are lucky that day, you bet all your winnings and lose it all. It happened to me a few times, I'll be brutally honest with myself, I can't discipline myself sometimes and I let my greediness overtake my gambling senses. On the other hand, greed can also give you a nice result, especially with games that have a 50% chance of winning. I guess being greedy isn't a negative thing at all, you just have to time it perfectly  Wink

Is there any special way to control greed?, the answer for me is no, there is no special way to control greed, it is completely up to you as a gambler to rise up above your desires which are tired to your greed.

But for me though, one most important and effective way to control greed is to first of all, stop seeing or making gambling a money making venture, for as long as you are gambling and your mind is entirely focused on making money, greed will always find its way into your emotions, and no matter the amount of money you win, you never will be satisfied, you will always wish you had put in more money so that your winning would be higher, this is what greed does.

Managing greed when gambling is simple. Just assume that you’re going to lose and think about the added enjoyment from playing. If losing that bet seems like it will suck more happiness from your life than winning would add joy, then you’re probably gambling for the wrong reasons and would be better suited pumping quarters into an arcade game.

I experienced this many times, but I also experienced putting in a large amount when I should not and regretting it, gambling is full of surprises what you think is right could turn out bad and vice versa, you should stop thinking the what if scenario.

What happened, happened just accept it as it is.
It's not pleasant if you keep thinking about what might have been scenarios, gambling will stop being fun if you have this mindset, I used to have sleeplessness nights dwelling on this kind of experience, we have to be good in moving on when it comes to gambling.

I'm not very disciplined in these kinds of scenarios. Sometimes, I can hold myself back from placing higher stakes due to greed, but other times, I just can't resist. However, one thing I can say is that you should always weigh the possible outcomes first. Taking a few moments to think about it will also help cool you down from the greed you're feeling.

Regrets are common in gambling, whether it’s about regretting about making a small amount of bet that should have accumulated a big win if you only make huge bet, or making a huge bet which became a reason why you experience a major loss.
That is why I have this habit that before I make a bet, I take the time to think twice before deciding to make a bet so that I can minimize having regrets. Surely, having regrets cannot be avoided but it can be lessened.
Aside from that, I don't think that we can avoid greed when placing our bet because it is a human nature and sometimes, we were really carried away by our emotions. And putting a limit on your bets and sticking to it can really help you manage you betting habits. Trust me, this practice will save you.

Something came into you to start increasing your wager? That's a bad spirit you've just opened the door for, you should have stayed with what you are using before, unless your salary have increased.

The reason why low amount is good for gambling is that, The lower the money you used to place a bet the lower the damages will become and we all know that it is certain that losses will happen when you are gambling so imagine you use $10 to gamble right now and you lose all the money if you are making like $100 or $200 per week it won't hurt you or mess you up, this is the best way to handle gamble.

The feeling that you are talking about is the feeling of Greed, learn to get rid of it or learn to make more money so that you can increase your gambling amount every week or month, there is nothing that will make more add more $$ to my weekly gambling amount, unless I made more money.

You can change your strategy from minimum or maximum amount per bet to random bets but it should be within your weekly or monthly bankroll. Let's say you gamble 2,000 Naira per week so that would account for around 8,000 Naira per month. You could set that amount as your maximum for the month and not worry how you usually bet per week. If you think the likelihood of winning is high on some games then you could put 4,000 Naira on that and use the other half on the rest of the month.

I keep playing slots which is a big error to begin with as chances are real low but I will tell you that I have learned something the hard way, whenever I was winning and thought why not raise the bet because greed is deep in our DNA as human beings and as soon as I raised it the money was gone in the fastest possible way.Now I manage my greed by never ever increasing the bet, this comes with a lot of practice and never think that you know a certain game that will make you have a cash out big time as even odds of 1.01 have lost people loads of money, there is no way of knowing where to bet more and where to bet less, bet your usual and be happy with the results is my advice to you.

This is common with most gamblers including me. The desire to win big is always there and if not checked can lead to playing beyond budget. How I handle this is to set rules and write them down; in the rule, the amount to play per bet , number of bets per day and target win and risk ratio are determined before ever placing the bets. This helps me manage my emotions better and so far, it has been helping me.

Again why do you regret after putting smaller amounts and it happens the games went as planned and starts blaming yourself for not increasing your bet amount, maybe by now you could have cashed out big time.
Personally I believe in playing small amount while targeting big winning but I do have games I also play big amounts depending on certain conditions. I do not feel bad irrespective of the outcome of my bets because I already determined how much I am expecting to win or loose before placing the best.

How do you control this thought over your ends do you keep to your regulations of always placing bets with some limits or you place bet according to your mind and regrets after losing that amount for not following your limits?
Betting can be painful without rules that will help you curb some negative habits. I strongly recommend anyone who wants to see gambling as business to develop self-paced strategy... that is how to survive in the business.

The way to manage greed is to stop it. When you are still feeling greedy, simply avoid gambling.

You see, when you are a greedy gambler, it makes your gambling activity too risky, as you are most likely to end up losing due to a lack of satisfaction.

There are two scenarios that often happen to a greedy gambler:

When the gambler is losing money, they will chase their losses, as they do not want to stop at a loss.
Most likely, this will end up with losing everything.

When the gambler is winning, they will still continue to gamble because they are not satisfied with their winnings yet.
Since luck is not forever, most likely, a gambler will end up losing everything.

Spot on. When greeds kicks in, there are very few scenarios where one will end up having a happy ending.
While we all can agree that the pursue of some money is a relatively important part of what drives people to bet, if anyone turns money the main reason of their betting activities, they will likely shift from total losses to wins.

The important difference between wins and losses is that after a big loss there can no be big win (since there is no leftover liquidity), after a big win there is always a chance for a big loss, though.

I have never placed a bet higher than I can afford. I have experienced more losses because I placed higher amounts than usual. That resulted in less money in my gambling account and I couldn't use it for a week because I had to deposit some more money. And it also made my plans to save some money fall through because I increased the value of the bet on one match.

Since then, I have tried to keep within my limits and not place more bets than usual even if my mind tells me I can win. I don't blame myself because I can't bet higher than usual. After all, there is a factor that I will lose. So I'd better place a bet as usual and not exceed that bet.

~snip~

I believe that before gambling a person should decide how much money he is willing to lose so that it will not bring him problems. It is to lose, because the probability that you will lose this money is quite high. Everyone should decide what percentage of monthly earnings can allocate to gambling, but I do not recommend allocating more than 5-10% of your income. Of course self-control needs to learn, but when a gambler masters this skill experience gambling prerekhodit completely different level.

I think it's pretty easy to know how people operate in times like this. It's definitely about the part where you are "craving" for a big win and you can only make it if you are not going to regret it if you win but if you lose, that's the regret. That's when we are talking about gambling more than you want or above the limits. That's what occurs on your days for sure.

Controlling this would be more connected to your discipline. I think you can start with betting smaller amounts or even fully going all in to not gamble. If it's becoming a problem, that should be your target.

Make sure to pay attention to a different thing aside from gambling if you want to lessen your playing times there. Be productive.

There's nothing we can do to always remain accurate with how we gamble, this is not about the amount of money used in gambling but the the way we appear being accurate with our gambling predictions and bettings, we can use a smaller amount of money to win big amount depending on the odd, same way we can take a huge amount of money to gamble and the odd is small and then the return also become less, so i will like to say that the higher the risk the higher the amount to win, i play my own bet with the level of how i can afford the risk involved and how i got the game techniques and strategies, so am not mostly concerned about the amount but the risk and benefits involved.

A few days ago that happened to me. Something in me tells me that I should increase my bet a bit more. Instincts, I guess. I didn't do it. I kept the same bet and suddenly it hit a multi-win of x800. All the regrets flashed back to me but I have this thing in my mind that also tells me that if I did increase my bet then a different result might come out. Who knows, that x800 may have not come out if I added more to my bet.

We cannot foretell the future so it would still be best to stay in our lane, our limit. If we cannot afford what we are going to lose then it's better to stay away from it. Keep whatever number we are used to because if we jump the gun then we might get rekt. It's a risk. Now, there are courageous people who will do it but it might shorten the playing time or it could be the chance for a faster withdrawal.
Greed had been a problem of many people on different aspect of life. Greed can affect us in gambling, trading, even in our various investments. There is need for us to tackle greed or else we might end up not able to reach where intend to reach or what we want to achieve. In gambling, greed can make us not to be flexible enough making the right decisions or make the kind of funds we supposed to make. We need to tackle greed by all means or else we might have some challenges which could be as a result a the freed spirit that had accumulated in our body.
