I certainly try not to keep a lot on exchanges because you know anything can happen there... I try to keep them local, and some on paper wallet for long term.
For the coins I want to trade with often, I put them on local wallets with a fresh machine to avoid virus etc. Better be safe than sorry.

I only store a limited amount of bitcoin on each of my wallet. I limit each of them to 0.2 btc only. So when someone hacks into my wallet, he won't be able to steal all my bitcoin.

I store my bitcoins in bitcoin wallet, in my country we have coins.ph so that application is what I use to store my bitcoin. It has instant cashout you can convert your bitcoin into money in just few minutes. So for me online bitcoin wallet is the best.

I am from PH too but rather than storing my Bitcoin at coins.ph, I have myself set up a lightweight wallet to at least give myself a control over the private key of my Bitcoin.  There is no doubt about the reputation of Coins.ph since it had been the major third party exchange of Bitcoin to fiat currency in our country, but i can still say it is best to have your bitcoin in your controlled address.
I personally think that the desktop lightwell are a bit scary considering that you keep your private key on your personal pc which is connected to the internet and can get infested with malwares and key logs which could potentially threaten your key and your coins, so unless you have a clean system all the time and keep a backup, then you are better off putting coins in different online wallets where they have secure dedicated servers.
Well, it's all about storing it in a secure way, if you have an anti-virus, that's better also. I keep mine in a cold storage. I used my old laptop and tried to create there my private keys, and it works well with what I have now. It acts as a savings account that's not easily accessed by anyone.

Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?
I stored my bitcoin in bitcoin core, xapo, blockchain, electrum, and mycelium those are my wallets that I commonly used. I scattered it so that I have wallets where I can keep all my bitcoin in different places.

I use online storage services also. To prevent possible losses I do the same you do. I store my bitcoins in different places, some amount on each place, if I lose bitcoins from a place I have all other bitcoins stored separately.
It's much better than store in one place only.
yes i also store my bitcoin in online store. i think it is one of the most best storage where we can keep and save our bitcoin so easily as compare to local banks etc.

First you must register with one of the bitcoin wallet to give ypu opportunity to have bitcoin saved in perfect place.
Without bitcoin wallet it will not save because one can not store in the banks.
But  it  may be saved through the banks by exchanged to once given local currency.

Some banks do not accept bitcoins for exchange and storage. It all depends on how the government treats the crypto currency.

I had a bad experience over electrum since i lost some bitcoin over it because i forgot to save the keys to unlock the wallet, and the lucky i had is i were starting to use those for a while soo it were tinny ammount, my computer burned and took my coins to graveyard with it. Nowadays i do let my coins at blockchain, even knowing isnt the most safe place to store them, atleast if my computer burn or get steal i will have the bitcoin safe, since the keys are stored in my mind.

I store my Bitcoin on both online and offline wallet. Mostly on offline wallet though.
I don't really trust online wallet but I still use them to store my Bitcoin. Tongue
you're just like me. I also do not believe the online wallet. sometimes I just keep my bitcoin in a long time, but sometimes I also always exchange it. Well, spend BTC by way of exchanging it probably would be better, rather than use it for fun.

I'm using the Bitcoin Core client as full node and Bitcoin storage. If you run regular backups this is pretty safe. Wink

Yeah bitcoin is mainly to be kept or saved in bitcoin wallet in your computer. Or it maybe changed to once local currency and it can be saved in the bank. But i think it is better for it to be saved in btc wallet.

I store my bitcoin on online wallet, even though it's risky. But I didn't put all of my money in just one wallet but rather 3 wallet such as blockchain, coinbase and the wallet from our country which is coins.ph. I store my bitcoin in different wallet so that, even if one of these wallet does not work properly I have my other wallet to store bitcoin.

I store some Bitcoins on an offline wallet but I also trade on an exchange. I obviously have to hold some Bitcoins on the exchange and I know it's risky, but if I want to do trading, I don't have much of a choice.
Storing you bitcoins online is actually safe enough to protect your private key. You don't have to save your bitcoins offline through using hardware wallet since you can ensure that online wallet is safe enough. Additionally, saving a private key if your wallet gives more complicated in using your bitcoin which would certainly causes you inconvince in terms of emergency.
