For those of us who have a dream or have a pulling towards a certain area of our life, it may be that's why it's been difficult to keep a job because you just can't shake off the thoughts of fulfilling that dream.

If along the line you suddenly loss your job for one reason or the other and now you have to rely on whatever wits and skills you have to survive with a family, instead of trying to look for another job and be doomed to misery, supposing you have some skill of sort that has been hidden and waiting to be explored, how do you hone such a skill, so much so that you earn from it?

It may be a strange post, but if one has to make wealth and be of value in this life he /she has to be able to love their work so much so that it seems they don't work at all and that's because such persons do what they love or do what they understand best.

With such disappointment as a job loss and in an economic situation like the one we are faced with in our country, and living in a new environment where it's easier to meet the wrong categories of person,

My question is that, how does one go about joining the right community to fulfil a dream after a job loss?

How does one know the right persons to follow and community to join to help them achieve their dream or purpose in this life?

Your thoughts are welcomed!

You are definitely blessed with good fortune if you enjoy your work, but it's also possible to make even the most mundane jobs more palatable with the right state of mind. Not many people necessarily want to go to work, even if they love what they do, so that is one thing to bare in mind. If you're unhappy with your job then you have to look and most importantly grasp any opportunities as they become available, because the window may close quicker than you think. It's perfectly normal to jump around a few different jobs as you're getting older, if you are lucky you might stumble into one that you find is much more enjoyable than others. A job can even be affected by the environment you work in and the people that surround you, which can make a huge difference.

It's true, many people today, even if they have a good job, prefer to resign and find what they really want to do or career to pursue in their lives. I believe that each person has his own destiny when it comes to career, some are destined to do business and others are destined to be employees, it really depends on his skills and abilities that we have. as you mentioned, it is normal to explore other things until we find the career that we really want to do especially when we get older, we will look for the peaceful surroundings rather than the chaotic and noisy side of the world.

Not everything is like that and it doesn't have to be like that. Because what determines whether we meet someone or a community is ourselves without having to follow that person or community if there is something we don't like, and we also have to know whether that person or community is useful for us or not. And coming back to ourselves and what we need, if it's not useful or important to us, there's no harm in looking for or finding the person or community we need.
To be honest, the OP's question was confusing and the words were difficult to understand clearly, and I tried to answer according to a few sentences that I understood.
And in essence, we are the ones who live and determine our lives and we are also required to be able to read or judge the people or communities we live in, and if we don't have that ability we will always be lost. And I think it's very easy to judge whether a person or a community is good for us or not, and we have to be in it to know the truth.

I think the first step to do is to focus on yourself. I am sure that after an unsatisfying job, there should come a point that you feel burnout so you should spend more time focusing on yourself just to regain your energy back.

After you feel ready then you can go out and try different hobbies.

New hobbies often allows you to find new friends and new support systems.

If you just explore and find comfort in yourself, it would be a piece of cake to find the right community.
Truly spoken. One needs to settle down for some time and recuperate after a job loss. During this time, is when resumes get arranged, hobbies get more engaged in to free the mind of the pressures and conditioning one has grown accustomed to during the working days.
It may be hard at first but if there's a flow in the process of getting ahead after a job loss, am sure one might likely find themselves in the right community where they actually belong.

New hobbies definitely do the trick and refreshes ones thinking ability.

You can learn many skills online from resources like YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, and other websites. To determine if your skills are ready for  work, research job postings on sites like Upwork and Fiverr. Find postings related to your skills and simulate offering your services as if you were responding to a real client. If you feel confident in your ability to deliver, then your skills are likely marketable.  Remember, besides developing your technical skills, it's essential to learn how to market yourself effectively.

It can be tricky to know for sure if you've found the perfect community, but a good sign is a focus on give-and-take. If you actively contribute by sharing your skills and knowledge, and receive help and support from others in return, that's a positive indicator.  However, since finding the ideal fit takes time, trust your gut! If a group or person makes you feel pressured, undervalued, or like you're not good enough, it's okay to move on. There's no pressure to stay in a community that doesn't feel right.

It depends on the specific area you want to explore. If it’s not that common you might only find the right community through friends and family and might not be as well known in the internet but if it is common I am sure there are many groups on the internet where you can talk to members of the group about that field.

It is important to have a support system when going through such changes in life. Aside from sourcing out other communities, you can depend on friends and families and spend more time with them. You can also go and find yourself a therapist to help you. A therapist doesn’t mean you’re sick or anything. Therapists are just helpful in figuring out what we want in life.

That is something you will only find out when you are already in the community.

You can't really judge a community based on other people's reviews about it, together with what you can read on the facet. You have to join that community, get the experience from other members, and judge for yourself.

There's no limit to the amount of groups or communities you can join into when you're faced with such a dire circumstance. You will need all the support and help you can get during these times and talk with someone to not get overwhelmed with grief.

Working a job alone already has its own set of pressure. As a smart person, when you know your working for someone or you know there is a figure above you whose actions can affect you greatly, you need to feel the threat and realize that, things could go sideways at whichever time and when your not prepared for it, you would be hurt in the worst possible way. This should tell you that, you need to have your own thing going where you would be the boss and what you say goes. You don’t need to wait until your laid off your job before you start harnessing your skills, you harness it when you find it. If you were yet to find it before loosing your job, then the pressure that comes with loosing your job should aid you find it.

At times it is good for one to experience negativity in their life like the loss of a job because it is through that their difficult moments they will discover what they can do or learn to enrich themselves in the bad economy.

It is only a lazy person who will lose a job and find it hard to reconnect with friends or colleagues on how they could fix themselves on something doing than staying idle.

I remember years back when I first lost my job, I didn't fold my hands waiting for a job to come to my doorstep before I started working again. I used the time of job loss to acquire skills first before searching for new jobs so that I could at least combine the two to survive in today's economy.

Being lazy may just be far from consideration because living in an environment where there isn't the availability of the skill set one needs to learn or the level of exposure one wants does not exist in proximity, it is a lot to discourage one and make the person lazy.

I know YouTube can help in learning, but a lot is learned from a professional tutor who knows where to get the right materials and tools for use and also a lot can be easily learned from finding and belonging to the right group of like minded individuals that form a community.

What am more interested in is how does one know when they have found and are in the right group of persons?

Also, how does one make connections to gain audience with those they aspire to be like and learn from, perhaps due to shared passion of interest, in the real world of course?

I don’t think that you need to join any communities, instead what you can do is to follow up with those who have done exactly what you want to do. It may not be the exact dream as yours but at least they put in the work to achieve their dreams anyway. While you do this, keep growing yourself and skills. The best investment one can make is the one they make in themselves. Job loss is part of life, don’t let it weigh you or hold you down beyond what it should.

These are very tough questions. If you somewhat meet the right people you'll get back on your feet very quickly. These people are everywhere. They sit next to you in a bar, they go to the same artist's concert with you, you go to the same hairdresser with them. There are assholes around too but you need to be able to identify the right people very successfully. That's a social skill which you can learn. These people will be glad to help you out because they are rich and rich people are mostly chill.

Network mate. A person with a good friend network will never starve. It is all that matters in this age.

I have a friend who is a college dropout and he owns a software company if you can believe it. The best part is, he doesn't know how to code a single "hello world" app. He collects the orders from the customers and sends them to a 3rd party software company/group. He can do this because he knows many people, he can reach many people.

that's sort of a people skills. not everyone has that kind of skills.
and no everyone also found their trade. some people just work out of necessity, not really their expertise and if they are laying off then the problem will soon arise. In this situation, he'd rather be the 3rd party who knows how to code because these are the kinds of fields that is hard to be replaced.

for me, i would rather be selling some stuff and be a businessman. if i have to cook hotdogs and buns for the passersby, i'd do it.

If you lose your job it's important to assess your finances, update your resume, network, seek benefits, enhance your skills, stay positive, maintain a routine, & seek support. If you knock on enough doors, one will open. One chapter of your life ending gives you a chance to start a new, even better one.
If you lose your job due to dismissal from the company or office you work in you need to pay attention to several aspects for the future, starting from updating your knowledge to a better one, improving the skills you have, looking for a community with opportunities to get a job more easily and most importantly being brave. try challenging new things.
I believe when upgrading skill and had experienced easily find the other job with higher amount of salary payment will receive in the future, need to make our self braveness looking for other job and upgrading skill based on how many companies required with our skill. Don't make us loss hope after losing job if you have skill and more experience will be easily looking for other job.

The 9-5 is not for everyone, but while trying to become independent, you need to know the direction you are plotting your life towards, and then put yourself in a comfortable position to pursue this dream so you can quit your 9-5 job. Stopping a job you have or not making any attempt to keep it may put you in a discomforting position where your dreams become harder to pursue.

how does one go about joining the right community to fulfil a dream after a job loss?

How does one know the right persons to follow and community to join to help them achieve their dream or purpose in this life?
This takes conscious effort, you need to know exactly what you want, and the kind of people you should be entertaining in your life if you must achieve that dream. You also need to know the kind of people to avoid, people who are bad for your life, and whose relationship with you will deter you from your goals and dreams.
