When I started into bitcoin, my only reason was I want to earn money only. By that time I want to earn big at once in bitcoin, but that's not possible for a newbie like me unless I have a lucky charm, LOL Grin
It's been less than a year before i came up in the postion to earn bitcoin. In other words bitcoin helped me out to become patience into learning from being impatience before in anything. Then I learned how to be economize Wink

At first, my relationship to Bitcoin was mild, flirtatious and purely for gaming, entertainment and sometimes profit, but now I have grown fond of the masterpiece that is the blockchain and all of its clever pieces.  Why have we given so much control to banks for so many generations without noticing they have their fingers crossed behind their backs as they edit the ledgers and reconcile the books, with our money?  I love bitcoin more than ever for its clever way of saying " no thank you " to big banking.   Well at least it removes much of the abused power.

Not much, I was in love with this technology and when I analyse myself today, I find the same. I was using PayPal before getting into cryptocurrencies but then central bank of my country laid some serious restrictions on the use of PayPal which caused an extra cut in my profits. Since I am in the international business I had to pay extra fees to get money in my hands, well it was not the tax but other charges and efforts and time.

I don't do any illegal activity thus I was not happy to pay extra charges, I tried bitcoin to see if there are any difference and boom. It was not only profitable on monetary aspects but also on other aspects of time and efforts.

It has actually changed me a lot. It has made me realize that if i need more profit i need to buy more bitcoins and for that i need to work more and be more productive. I have invested in many places and have good decent returns also  but bitcoin is the best one , nothing to do , not much knowledge needed if i just want to invest and got to know more about different altcoins.

Been around bitcoin for just over 2 years now.  It was kind of a mystery at first as to exactly how to get it and so forth, but I'd been watching the price for a year before actually buying any.  I don't think my attitude has changed drastically, except that I now view it as an awful currency but a great instrument for speculation.  I'm never looking to get rich with it.

But I'm more positive about its prospects for survival, I can say that.  I thought bitcoin would have died by now.  I honestly thought it was a fad, like Flooz was in the late 90's.

what was your attitude when you first got into bitcoin? was it to get rich quick? make some dollars? learn the tech?

My attitude is very positive and upon reading those people that made riches with bitcoin it encouraged me to get rich but I don't intend it to become fast. It has a lot of purpose when I entered to bitcoin, earning while learning.

and how has it changed the more you've learnt? did you go from a moon kid to a serious scholar of the tech or even more of a moon kid than before?

Well when it comes to learning, I'm trying to make myself get along with the advancements and I'm still learning from the experts.

i started off as interested in the dollars, then got more and more fascinated by the whole world around it, now i think i'm starting to come out the other side a little.

It's a normal thing once you are starting to learn on it, we just want to go to the next level.

I have changed a little bit my opinion about bitcoin as I have been part of the community, at first bitcoin to me was nothing more than a useful way to send money overseas, then as I read about the technology I became enthusiastic about it.

Defend Bitcoin and its PoW: bitcoincleanup.com
When I started it I was all about earning a few extra cash for purchasing some misc stuff and I wanted to learn about the tech. I am now wanting to get at least normal salary in Bitcoin rather than earning just a few dollars. As for the tech, I am still wanting to learn more. I was also excited every time I was about to recieve Bitcoins, but now it is just normal and.an everyday thing.

My attitude has very much been the same, but I definitely have seen the community shift gears in the last 2 or so years. The infighting has been a bit disheartening and the sense of us against the world has changed into us against us.
My vison to the bitcoin has been changing the more and more I learn about it, but the first time that I knew about it people told me that bitcoin was a type of currency that criminals and hackers use to make some illegal transactions, but when I looked deep into the information and searched more about it I found out about the truth most of the normal people ignore which is that bitcoin is a good thing and has quite the potential and quite the community that keeps it alive and rich.

My attitude has changed a lot since knowing bitcoin. I know that bitcoins do not have physical form and this is the drawback I heard from someone. But as I learn bitcoin, so can easily converted to fiat so it you want to buy something that requires physical money, all you have to do it convert it to cash then you can use it to buy.

the more i've learnt about this scene the more screwed up it seems and i don't see how it's gonna cure itself. there's money to be made but i might be doing it no longer believing in its immediate future.

cryptocurrencies will never go anywhere but i'm starting to think what's around us now will be looked back on as the experimental and growing pains phase rather than anything that directly survives and is built on into the future. uncool but from the heart.

what about you?

my first time attitude is i am really curious about bitcoin, i search more in many websites with the info about bitcoin, first time i really don't know that bitcoin can make some dollars but after i learn more, i realize that bitcoin can help me to make some money too. first time i am confusing what will i am gonna do with my bitcoin. from collecting bitcoin, what i need to do to have a cash in my bank account, its like a story for me and i am glad that i am in bitcoin world now and i want to use bitcoin no matter how long it would be.
almost all individuals encountered and experienced that curiosity about bitcoin including myself. in fact, I'm a silent type of a person before but when I got involved here in the forum I felt that I became talkative here, either I asked the audience in the thread section or I'm the who respond who has a concern question about what he/she want to know.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
i got into it just to see if one could indeed make money of my GPUs (a HD4850). seemed too good to be true. and i did it mainly to prove a point to my wife that our computers were not just a money pit Smiley

of course it did make some money and i was able to exchange it for USD in my bank account  via mt gox and dwolla.  and after a couple months i grabbed more gpus (HD6870, HD5830s) and built a mining rig. this was around 2011. went with gpus, then fpgas and finally early asics.

made a decent amount, had some nice vacations and bought some toys. didnt really save a lot as i was unsure of its long term viability.

at this point i gpu mine (alts, convert most to btc but i do save some alts) to be part of the Grand Experiment. still cash coins in here and there but now im more into saving coin long term.

Slava Ukraini!
When I joined bitcoin, I was searching how to earn some money online. I found faucets and wanted to earn few bucks from it. I didn't had expectations to become rich and I was sceptical about bitcoin. When I joined bitcoin, it price was down to $200 and $1000 and more looked impossible and unachievable. In first months bitcoin looked like a bubble for me.
But later I started to believe in bitcoins, discovered bitcointalk, found more ways to earn bitcoin.
Also, when I was total newbie, I was really sceptical about altcoins, even litecoin, dogecoin and others which was popular then. I was afraid to keept these coins, because I was thinking that even top altcoins can loose all their value in few hours. Now it's looking really funny Cheesy

Like when i first started to earn bitcoin i was very happy.
I used to earn from signature Campaigns and at the beginning I used the post the maximum limit which the Campaign allowed.
Later on I got used to it and now i feel very lazy even to post the minimum amount.
Now when it comes to bitcoin completely earlier they used to get confirmed , the transactions used to get confirmed much sooner and the fees was less.
But now they have increased a lot and the conformation time has also increased , this makes me think a few times before using bitcoin

I started to use bitcoin to make some cash... I was looking for an Ad network for a blog and comes to a site using Bitcoin only... I started to use I didn't even know what it is exactly and how Bitcoin works LOL I just knew I have a wallet at Coinbase and I receive bitcoin daily into it. I started to use Bitcoin I was not even sure how I could convert to fiat. Then I took interest on Bitcoin and the ecosystem, opened several blog related to Bitcoin but also Altcoin and Blockchain, as I also like how the blockchain technology is beeing used outside Bitcoin. I have been giving a little gift in forums from time to time just as gift to share, not a lot, last time it was something like 2$, just for promoting bitcoin somehow. The value doesn't matter, the gesture matter, you know. Since al this time, now I like debate, blogging, learning ect about crypto, it allowed me to meet some good people as well.

I can relate on the things you said you've experienced. Because like you i am also used bitcoin before on earning money not knowing the specific thing about bitcoin. I also do gambling because i thought i can earn on that but lately when i become aware on bitcoin true essence that is the time that i become aware on bitcoin forum so i reed different topic and i gain knowledge and idea on bitcoin. That is the time i do also signature campaign to earn on posting and reading in forum so i gain knowledge while i am earning through posting so for me that is a big thing. And then now i also know that you should have proper handling of bitcoin through wallet. So for now i am holding all of my bitcoin on coin.ph waller where i can do more things about bitcoin. So i guess all of us improve the way on using bitcoin as it improved also.

Re: how has your attitude to bitcoin changed the longer you've been into it?

A revolutionary new payment system --> an entry level theft school for small time crooks --> a running joke for my friends and family.

Remember humans are incapable of detecting exponential growth until it is too late, e.g. the lily pond is only 12.5% covered with lilies on the 28th day, 50% on the 29th, and 100% on the 30th.

Crypto and blockchains are a fundamental shift of economics and society underway. Deflationary crypto-currency will correspond with a change from debt-based, industrial age to investment-based, knowledge age.

Don't be thrown off by that which you can't perceive objectively.
