Give quality on your post. Quality in terms that it can help others, and can contribute to the forum. Giving merits also depends on each person who will be giving merits. If they find your post deserving to have merit, then that can give you merit. So it's not only about the knowledge you have, you should also be humble to everyone here in the forum. A lot of people here are kind when giving merits. All you have to do is to make sure that you deserves to be given a merit. It's an individual preferences why they give merits but most of the time it's on the quality.

To go up in rank, first stop looking for merits. Just post normally like you are contributing to this forum. Increase your knowledge and see which posts are getting merits and start posting like them. If you go like that in very short time you will be ranked up. Good luck

I started a thread a long time ago trying to help Newbies and Jr. Members to rank up and get their first merit. It hasn't seen a lot of action lately. From what the other users in this thread have posted you seem to be focused on bounties and gambling-related posts only. There is your reason for not getting merits. Merit sources rarely visit those boards.

Try to act normal. Post what you are good at and help out where you can. If your only goal is to get only one merit just to fulfill a requirement for a bounty campaign people will see through that, and probably you wont get it. Become a part of Bitcointalk and give us something to read and think about in your posts.

If you want to take a look at the thread I mentioned earlier, here it is >https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/giving-x-newbiejr-members-a-chance-to-rank-up-5085605
Read and understand the rules before applying, if you decide to do so.

Why it took 2 years for you to realize the importance of earning merit and finally pursuing to rank up? Your post history defines that you are here for bounty right? but since its not profitable anymore and 95% of them are scam then you decided to rank up and find more interesting opportunity good move, just post constructive and meaningful words and try to become a helpful community member remember no shortcut to rank up you have to do your best to receive merits.

As I see it especially with reputable member in this community. They are investing their time to learn about how cryptocurrency and the forum works. They just spend a lot of their time reading than posting in the community. Nothing can replace the reality of being educated in terms of the technicalities in crypto related stuff as well as having a good grasp of the rules and regulation in the forum.

People does not become successful in making their way up due to the ignorance of the forum rules and unethical behaviour in the community. People are getting aggressive and eventually lose their minds resulting to a shady behaviour because they badly want to earn that merit quicly so don't do it or else you will get fvcked up. Just a reminder for everyone that we should be making a change in ourselves to get change from the outside. Stephen Covey once said that we should Seek first to Understand, Then to be Understood

For a quick headstart, I find this thread very useful for people like you.

Just my tips for anyone to get away themselves from being called as a spammer:

  • Don't post if you don't have anything to say: Most people are doing this mistake when they enter into a discussion, they simply post some sentences in general, to get their post count to be increased but if you have this habit then you could never rank up.
  • Don't be lazy to read: Did you ever heard that intelligent people are good listeners? So get your knowledge increase by reading more and more contents as much as you can, more knowledge you gather the more chance to make a better suggestion while enters into a discussion
  • Get yourself into a discussion: If you are creating a thread or replying to a thread keep watching the thread for further replies for your post and keep the discussion get going until the solution to be found.
  • English is important: Yes, if you want to interact with someone on the internet you need to have basic writing and understanding skills of English or you never know what is happening in a thread and you will be stuck there forever.
  • Be yourself: Just concentrate on improving your knowledge with the things you are good at, like if you are a trader then read more things about trading strategies and how to tackle the different market condition of crypto then teach others the things you learned. You can't post something good and informative if you never give an effort towards it.
  • Avoid posting on Spam mega threads: even if you post some good post on 113th post chances of anyone would read will be less, so you can't expect to get merit for that good post.
  • Avoid posting wall of text: If you want to say something which takes bit more characters to express then cut down the characters into multiple lines or paragraphs because if we see something which is really long to read, most of the people will simply skip. We are lazy in this modern world. Grin

Misc tip: You can use Grammarly extension to correct your mistakes while writing a post like spelling mistakes, simple grammatical mistakes, punctuation marks.

These suggestions might help you!
But remember ranking is possible only if you change your bounty posting habit.

It's easy: spend time on this forum when you want to and try to help out and share your sincere, personal thoughts. Don't post just to rank up.. ranking up comes by itself. To get merit, you need to post useful replies and threads that deserve to receive it. Share your knowledge with the community and be a true member of it, don't seek just for higher ranks. Try to put post quality on the #1 priority of the replies and threads you create on the Forum. When people think you deserve it, they will reward you with a little merit.

You have 155 posts and +95% of them are Bounty posts. You can count that as 0 posts on your account too, because they are practically worth nothing. Through this thread you're off to a good start though.. Elaborate your thoughts, nobody will give you merit for the type of posts you've made so far!

If you don't speak English very well, look through the Local boards and find the language you speak fluently. You'll find great people out there too, and it's going to be easier for you to post higher quality replies & threads. Best of luck!
