I am a brand new member. How can i increase my rank?
Find lots of cheater accounts, report plagiarism, find more scam projects or if you have enough money then I would also suggest you to become a manager for your own project or service and pay promotion participants every week with bitcoin and this can also be a fast way to move up rank as it did with Best_Change accounts. You know how Best_Change climbs the rankings and earns a lot of merit? it is because they pay their campaign participants smoothly every week and have been a great service in this forum and he has also been appointed a DT with a reputation for his services.

Edit: The surefire solution to ranking up on this forum is to hit your ass and keep being a keyboard warrior with useful posts.

There was probably a flyer hanging on a community notice board in some village square somewhere in Asia or S. America, proclaiming the riches than can be gotten by simply posting on the internet.  That's always been my theory.

While it may be true that most spammers and bounty hunters come from the areas of the world you mentioned, it just means that people in those parts of the world live very hard and look for some sort of lifeline on the internet. This does not mean that other parts of the world do not perceive this forum as a place where magic money is shared for posting, but that educated and intelligent people do it in a much more cunning way than some others.

I don't really blame these people, they just take advantage of what the forum has to offer. If the forum were set up towards them in a way “Newbie & Jr.Members can’t participate in bounty/signature campaigns,” then we most likely wouldn’t be discussing things like this.

How does OP know about ranks but nothing else?

Each member has his own rank, and each new member can notice it very easily - he is a brand new member, and if he sees the other ranks, it is logical to ask the question he asked. Of course, it would have been much better if he had found the answer to that question himself.

It may be irrelevant to you, but I am interested in his reply.
Who knows, someone may like the answer so much that it will help him to rank up. Wink

I do not think that he would have answered in an original way and thus would have surprised everyone. How do people learn about the forum, and above all about the ranks existing on the forum? And the OP knows the benefits of increasing rank. If this is YouTube, then they always talk about the merits, but most often it is a telegram group in which they discuss making money on the network.
After all, it is immediately clear that the OP is not interested in bitcoin, since his first post on the forum presents a problem of increasing the rank.

He's obviously not here to learn much if he's instantly concerned about how to rank up, as Ratimov suggested.  I can't picture myself joining a forum, presumably dedicated to a subject I'm interested about, and in my first post ask about how I can rank up.  I would be reading threads replying to posts that caught my attention--or simply just reading and not posting.
I am probably into motivating newbies to post effectively and contribute best to the forum but these kind of Posts are out of mind that how come you not read some threads about the topic you are going to make as there are many of them available and they all ask same questions like how to rank up,how to gain merits, how can i earn? and some others. So if we assume that if we join a company we will first have deatails about the company and the rules not how will i become CEO of this company. So you need to work for it like all others are doing. But on the contrary basis the @OP might have seen or heard about signature campaign paying to higher rank members and do not want to directly ask about it so he came with this way.

Anyway OP, if earning is your primary goal on bitcointalk and you think you can maximize those earnings if you have a higher rank, you're in for a surprise courtesy of the merit system, which makes it extremely hard for members who don't contribute significantly to discussions to achieve a rank higher than Jr. Member.

I'd wish you luck, but that would be insincere.
Gaining merits is not hard though if you are capable of it because I have seen some members becoming legendary within few time from newbie account as they set some different goals and earning was not the only goal.Like some members @NotATether has 2137 merits with Hero rank only and @CharlesTime 1734 merits with Hero rank and n0nce 483 merits with junior member rank and there are many more. The taks is hard for those who want to spam post and post low quality rather than being an asset to the forum. But yes merit system has become hinderance for those members. So choose the way you want to continue your journey on the forum @OP.

AFAIK, OP does not really have to answer these questions, and tbh, they are irrelevant,

Would you mind answering a few questions first; How did you find out about this forum? Why would you want to increase your rank?
AFAIK, OP does not really have to answer these questions, and tbh, they are irrelevant, users find out about the forum in different ways, and people choose to have a higher rank for diverse reasons as well, pride for example, which is a good reason, and no one really cares about all these as long as you're not going contrary to the rules of the forum and you're basically not scamming anyone, or spamming. Op could prolly also seek a higher rank to maybe post images or do other things that comes with the privilege of a higher rank, and there is nothing wrong with that; the thing remains that OP should just stay abreast with forum rules and don't do anything desperate to achieve whatsoever it is he want to achieve.

You just came to this forum, you still don't understand how the forum works but you already know that you need a higher forum rank  Grin
I think the OP knows how it works, but he's just pretending he doesn't. The first post about his desire to rank up is proof that there is a ranking system in this forum, right?

Something tells me it's about the money.

Hard to blame him though. Times are difficult especially with COVID.

Hard to blame him, right? Yes because this forum never forbid users to make money. The OP should have known that this raank would be achieved simply because he was able to post high quality.

Here everything comes based on merit through investment, personal effort and work.
If you do something that helps other members of the forum, or contributes to this community, then over time you will progress and reach a higher forum rank.
If you think solely about yourself and the benefits you can get from a higher rank on the forum, then you will not progress on this forum. It's all up to you.

I believe this noble institution is like another world were you obtain any information via bitcoin and process it with your own understanding, everyone happen to start with zero ideas of cryptocurrency but today it has been adopted by people who values it, and many more can as well give lectures about cryptocurrency perfectly because of the research they carry on, everybody is a learner.

I am a brand new member. How can i increase my rank?
At first i welcomed you for locating your way here, but at first as a newbie you have to read through the community because the level of finding towards cryptocurrency will determine your development, from my part of encouragement as new user it's very obvious that your hard working contributes immensely for your ranking up as you are inquisitive to get ride of upliftment...many links has been dropped by fellow users, i think it Left for you to devote out time Read through them stanza by stanza in order to obtain a credible information you needed to actualize your objectives.

Now we know what are the importance of Merits in our New Ranking systems,  then wee decide  to make Thread but before that  we need to study about Posting or making threads.

Important notice

You should not try to make an alt account then you will pass your Merits from alt. To main. Cause
, DT members have repeatedly added negative marks to users' trusts for such violations. Users sooner or later identify their alternatives, there are many ways to find such accounts, and subsequently, some are very upset about their negative trust.
Therefore, it is not recommended to resort to such dishonest tricks.

OP, since you are so hard at work on this subject, let me add a little tip.
Please note that there are violations on the forum, such as transferring merits to your alternate account. Probably many have forgotten or do not know about it. But, DT members have repeatedly added negative marks to users' trusts for such violations. Users sooner or later identify their alternatives, there are many ways to find such accounts, and subsequently, some are very upset about their negative trust.
Therefore, it is not recommended to resort to such dishonest tricks.

I think op should add this one on the list. I do noticed that many forum users have forgotten, didn't know or still remember but didn't mentioned it. Well, I have something to add about this violation since you mentioned about it and I let op add the reason why, this is because it can defeat the purpose of merit system. We all know that theymos implemented this merit system to prevent spammers, shitposter and many more to avoid the ranking up. Take bounty hunters as example, did you see any bounty hunters rank up or received merits many times?.

If you are here for earning purposes then it would take a lot of time and effort for you to rank up. If you are here for learning purpose and earning is optional then you rank up moderately. If you are only here for learning and helping others then you wouldn't be bothered about ranking up. Think about what you want and decide accordingly.

I am a brand new member. How can i increase my rank?
You need merit and required activities to increase your rank. It wouldn't take long for you to become a Jr. Member since it only requires 1 merit. You can get merit by creating useful information good quality post. It'll be very challenging since it's hard to get merit easily. You need to apply hardwork and patience. Study hard and do your best.

I quoted a part of it, if you want to read more, click on the link and see full content.
Forum rank

When you start out, you are a Newbie, and you will run into various annoying limits. These limits will be reduced to the point where you shouldn't usually notice them after you have participated in the forum for a few weeks. If you are on the forum to talk, then that's all you really need to know about rank. Don't worry about it too much, and you will eventually rank up.

If you want to maximize your rank, then you need to increase two statistics which are listed on your profile:
  • Activity, which is maximized by posting once per day on average. Posting more than that is useless in raising your activity.
  • Merit, which is gained by making good posts.

If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. It's quality over quantity.

When trying to write quality posts, a lot of people act as though they're writing a book report for school: putting facts that we already know into their own words. Nobody wants to read that, and you will not get merit for it. Moreover, the length of your post and the quality of your English are only minor factors. In trying to write a quality post worthy of merit, you should offer new ideas, personal experiences, or perspectives that other forum users will actually find new and interesting.

First step would be to learn to read around the forum. Starting from the stickied posts on this thread (those are the too posts on the thread, with a pin icon besides it), it contains most of the links to other useful posts including the one that answers your question.
Before you comment on any new board too, ensure you read the stickied posts at the top of them.

Welcome to the forum.
