this is why I am not dealing with stranger person which I don't know and if I want to deal with someone, I will make sure that there is the third person that will watch our transaction and make sure everything is good. there are too many people that want to try to cheat with us especially if we cannot take care of what we want to sell and we need to ask someone or our friend to join with us in that transaction. I hope you don't have this bad experience again in the future.

Whenever you are making deals with a stranger, always, always tag along some friends with you as your back-up and for your safety as well. And never never ever take your eyes off even for a second to your product. Your dealings should always be spot payments. If they want it otherwise, cut off the deal.
This is correct anytime that you are going to do a trade with someone else you cannot go alone you need to ask a friend to back you up even if you are not expecting trouble, and if you are expecting trouble you must not make any trade with that person, but having someone else with you gives you an additional pair of eyes just in case the other person tries to deceive you.

I sincerely regret all those people who got scammed. And I'm very glad that you write here about your experience. This information is very useful for beginners. I think that they are the most sensetive to deception.

Good afternoon evening night)
I want to say when I lose something that I still try to believe that I still got something.... and it is an experience and it is priceless)))
Ah so here is the situation the next.. on one site announcements I uploaded the Intel that will sell 1.5 bitcoin without commissions )
Two days later, the message arrived in the mail... with a request to meet ...in anticipation of the meeting I took the flash drive with the keys and went to coffee in our city...
The meeting with the buyer was simple.. nothing complicated stick lying in the pocket of his jacket ... I went to the bathroom for 3 minutes....
come he says well, let's see your chops... well, I'm like come on... eventually... my flash drive was empty.... as Huh AS I can not understand... is within 3 minutes, really all to bear with the stick to remove and hit the road... I wanted to see the cameras later... but the cameras aren't shooting at that place... more shortly... sell everything in your network from the comfort of home )
Maybe someone will help... And if there are people in the know explain how they pulled it off...

Its such a very bad situation. Its not a simple money it is 1.5 bitcoin in that case you should not have trusted anyone and you should not have left your wallet alone. You cant even file a case to police since it is not recognized as digital money. In this case i can feel pitty for you and be careful further, learn a leasson from your mistake.

That was a bad experienced for the op. I'm hoping that he is now okay with the situation. This is a common issue in doing a meetups transaction which you had no control of the situation. Not unless you have some bodyguards that will intimidate them. Beware of this type of transaction.

If you have the emails, they may be able to track the owner of the email? But if you go to the police, you may also have some problems if you didn't declare your bitcoin in your tax declaration as they may also search more information about you...
And i don't know if they would take the time to try to catch the thief...
this would be the problem,if the situation is same as you says .but it depends on where OPs region if the bitcoin is taxable of not.but still things dont favor to him because even the security cameras dont agree with him..i guess this will serve as learning from experience since its hes dis obedience and not tooking extra care why this happen

I think for another time you should be more careful, nothing else except you have to accept this condition.

and I suggest to you, if someday you make a transaction again, better do not it with people you do not know. or you can use escrow.

hackers, mining tool thieves, and loss are the risks we must accept when we are active in the crypto world. and they already to do action.

the error at the time of bitcoin sale is we send bitcoin to wrong address and that we do when we copy address, it's a common mistake. I think we should be careful when sending an address to avoid being deceived.

What is the mountainous terrain avalanches crypto something legally in place wherein ye? If yes then surely the police could help the case, but if crypto is not permitted then to report to the police was also to no avail.

You should count yourself lucky as you hit a thief. One of people from my hometown was basically taken as hostage and killed to steal his bitcoins (not kidding) Police caught murderers after. (Country: Turkey)
This is awful, but I'm not really surprised people will do anything in order to get money this is why it is a bad idea to brag about the big trade that you made and the big profits that you have got, you could become a target not only for hackers but to people that will try to identify who you are and will go to your house and try to take your bitcoins by force.

its hard to do transactions with unknown people, if ever you have a transaction better bring someone with you who knows everything about selling bitcoin in person, but as you say, you have learn from that experience so it is still good for you but bad for your supposed-to-be income.
This was indeed a very expensive learning experience on OP's side considering on the amount have been lost its not already a small amount. The thing i do question on my mind on he had stolen those bitcoins while the usb was placed only into your jacket? But i do suspect when he do tried to check out the balance theres already a script/tool for direct withdrawn and been transferred without being noticed by you.

That was a very exasperating experience. Your feeling of loss is overwhelming. I am so sorry for you OP. You should have brought along a friend or two with you for security purposes. But then again, this was all "water under the bridge" now. Nothing you can do. I am quite sure you've already learned your lesson to not to be so trusting especially to strangers.

You have to be super careful while dealing with cryptos both online and offline, there are many scammers and fraudsters around, also it was your responsibility to keep your private keys and flash safe and only share awith the buyer after he paid you.

Bitcoin now is selling like pancakes so any opportunity a person who has interest with bitcoin will take advantage of what you have. Be very careful with these kinds of people, they will do anything in their mind just to get hold of cryptocurrencies. If you make any transactions, make sure you know the person or get to know the person first if someone vouches him/her because this might happen to you.

Be very careful who you are dealing with. Nowadays specially when you're talking about money, scamming and frauds are most common. Better learn now from your mistakes.
