The activity is calculated as follows: activity <= number of posts and every 2 weeks you will only have a maximum of 14 activity even though you have more than 14 post but it is only 14, the rest will be added to 14 the next acctiity. What if I post everyday ? Yet I will get 14 activity in 14 days ? Suppose I am making 2-3 posts each day then what will be my activity points ? Suppose I have posted 30 posts in every 2 weeks. Then How many activity points I will get after 3 months ?
If you are posting 30 posts in every 2 weeks then still you are going to take only 14 points after every 2 weeks and you have nothing else you can understand how much you are going to get in 3 months no one can get more then 14 points in every 2 weeks its fix for all members

So it means if one person become active once in every 2 weeks by posting at least 1 post, will get 14 points in every 14 days. So 26*14= 364 activity points in a year.
But it will not change if any one post 20 posts in every 14 days? But i thought post count is also a multiplying factor, I was wrong ?
Yes you are wrong its not multiplying if you are posting once in 14 days or 20 in 14 days you have just 14 points its all set

i think this question is asked many times in past and answered and explained in details by other members and staff
then why keep posting same question, better just do a quick search

Search isn't working currently (not that it probably would've mattered though  Cheesy).

Actually it would have mattered
I looked for some posts and activity in newbie section and other bitcoin discussion
But i was unable to find any to my satisfaction.

After 28 days why will it be 28 , willn't it be 42
If the case is about being online , then prefer a better scenario
Where , i made a newbie accoutn and did 400 posts and then came online every 10th day but never posted for a year , my activity will be 350+ right ?

No, just have a look back at theymos' formula:
There are two numbers that come into this
- total number of posts (activity will never be higher than that)
- number of two-week intervals in which you posted multiplied by 14

So if you post 400 articles when you first log in, your post count will be 400 but your number of two-week intervals will be one, so your activity is 14.
When you get back to the forum 14 days later and post (not just visit), you've got 2 two-week intervals with postings, so your activity will rise to 28.
If you stay off the forum for a year, the number of two-week intervals with posts from you obviously does not grow, so your activity is still 28.
When you start posting again, your activity will rise to 42 since now you have 3 two-week intervals with posts.

On the other hand, if you post one or two articles per week but without long interruptions, your activity will not be determined by the number of two-week intervals but by the total number of posts.
For example, if you post one article every week for a year, your activity will be 52 because that's your post count. You can then quickly raise activity to 26*14 = 364 if you post enough (=312) articles in the last week.

Hope it becomes a bit clearer...

that is what i needed

I know it's like this as Said by theymos
The way activity is calculated:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

But in simple words i think it means 14 activity in 14 days
But let us suppose a person stays offline for 2-3 months but his post count is more , so will his Activity rise even if he doesn't come online or post [I know that's completely irrelevant since it depends on time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration) but just clearing things..
Also what if suppose a person have 500 activity and 500 posts and he hasn't posted since a year
How will activity work then ?
Am asking this because i see someone's (who was idle for long time ) activity rise more than 14 within a day after his posts.[Don't ask who]
Yes, your activity will be updated within 1 hour of your post.

in simple language 14 days = 14 activity or

14 post in 1 day = 14 activity

after 14 days post again to increase activity
Yes i know that
To clarify , if i make a newbie account and post 14 times , my activity will be 14 and if i login again after 14 days and post 14 times asap , my activity will again increase
But what if i made account and did 50 posts , i will be at 14 activity but then i do not come for a month , so will i miss that 28 activity or will i get it ?

if you post 50 post a day your activity will be 14

if you came after 28 days your activity will be 28

you need to come online

Sed Total time logged in: this must be increased

After 28 days why will it be 28 , willn't it be 42

400 post with 5 min interval

lolz 400*5 = 2000 min

total 33 hours need to post 400 post

That is just an assumption so to help me understand things better

Okay so Just to clear it a little more
If i make a newbie account and post 400 , my activity will be 14 and then i return after and year , so you mean to tell me , my activity will rise to 364 as soon as i make one post? [ since , 365/14 ~25 and 25*14 = 350 activity i.e. ]

no its not possible i think

i made 68 post and i have 28 activity only
That is because you joined on 11 jan and since then only two Activity reset have took place
you will be 42 on 3rd feb tuesday

ohh thats great
