I need some orientation on how Participants get merit.

If it is shared, how is that done too?

Please let's help each other out.
Why you guys are posting about merits by this way? You should search about how to get merits and should learn about this forum first. To get merit points you should make good posts and help others.

OP, I believe that after 4 pages of this thread you should already understand how to get merit in this forum  Grin Grin
Of course, this is a common question on this forum and has been answered a hundred times already, but obviously we can expect the same questions to continue to be asked, and there is no help for that.
I suggest you forget about the merits and focus on what you personally can give to this forum, and only then start asking the question what the community on this forum can give you in return.
When you accept this advice, you will see how easy it really is to get merits on this forum Cheesy

And when such questions arise there must be ready hundreds of answers available to the question raiser. Only a few will provide genuine answer. Others would be some signature spammers who wants to complete their weekly posting quotas, some will just repeat what was said in the first pages of the thread. The day I took out my time to read all thread pages, I was surprised to see what goes behind the pages.

make posts that contain elements of knowledge, especially about bitcoin, or other crypto because I am also a beginner, the reason I joined this forum is also to learn little by little, understand bitcoin and other crypto, so if you are a true beginner like me, it's better to focus first on quality posts and you must also remember your purpose in joining this forum. if the matter of merit will also follow, I believe in that.

I just saw a similar thread on meta just minutes ago although this one is much older but, the subject always comes back everytime with every newbie or beginner that claims to be curious over what are merits, how are they gotten, what's regarded for a quality post and how to grow in the ranks.

As the forums might have it, merits prompts users to put in work in delivering better post quality, being informative and be a good learner.
It is very limited, the smerit that is gotten from allocations and earned merits are very much useless to the holder but, that doenst in any way means, its to be given just anyhow. That would be an abuse abuse won't help the system to archive its aims.

@OP, be active and contribute to forum development and you won't have to ask questions on how to earn or what are merits.

I am new in this forum. I don't know how to get merit and someone help me how to get merit. Also I'm here for join different bounties and airdrops to earn money. Please someone guide me to get merit

Hello mate good day and welcome to the forum [sorry to say this] but about your question about earning merits then all I can say is that stop asking about that, just do some research or study because all you need to know is already given.  and also you already have 1 merit beacuse  Uzairjutt275 already gave it to you and I don't know why because this kind of reply you made are not interesting and not worthy to be given.
You came here not to learn so for me you are not worthy to be given because you will be a spammer if you already join any bounties.

<…>

I was going to reply with an average sized wall of thoughts on the matter - something like this:

<…>
I’ve often echoed that earning a few merits, and scaling through the first few ranks, should not deem too difficult, but rather more so moving along the mid-to-high ranks, which require many more merits, and where people are likely to be more demanding for meriting posted content than on the lower ranks.

People here and there have posted their meriting criteria, such as on this recent thread. Reading through may provide further insights, although bear in mind that people have likely conceptual criteria, but things are nor written in stone.

The idea, in general terms, is to create content that is potentially interesting to the reader, be it in the shape of information, questions, answers, criticism, and whatnot, and wavering the flag of being meaningful, as opposed to meaningless or excessively redundant. The way you express yourself and the general layout are complements that help to convey the message more easily, and come in handy to bear in mind.

Being too eager may easily prove to be counterproductive, as it may lead one to be under the spotlight with a content that may not be that well thought through. Nobody should be expecting to get merited from the start, nor recurrently on most of the post he makes. I took my time to earn my first merit, well over a month, and if memory serves me well, it was actually for a little joke on my local board relative to price volatility. Not something to mimic, but goes to show that there is a variety of content that may be considered by others as interesting.
But it seems that I may have to scrap 95% of the above quote in light of some meriting criteria I just saw, which has nothing to do with what I wrote above (nor the intent of the Merit System). I figure that the part concerning that earning a few merits should not deem difficult remains true (even more so); it’s surpassing a certain threshold that is.

Both high-quality posts and thoughtful responses to other people's posts merit consideration. But most importantly, put merit aside and learn whatever it is that you want to learn in this forum if you want to learn. Once you have a thorough understanding of the forum, merits will follow.
The more knowledge you share in the forum, the more Merits you will receive as a reward for your good work.
This is exactly how everything happens, but at first, when you just figure out what and how it works, then at this moment the greatest desire to earn merit and grow in rank. Over time, it all subsides and everything turns out by itself, but you understand this when a lot of time passes, at first everything seems very complicated and at some point even unattainable.

Mate, it depand upon your writing skills and your valuable post, reply and thoughts if you did it you will get it.
There are many ways of getting merit and Yes that's right and that is one of the requirements to earn merit but not just that because the main thing to earn merits is the word (CONTRIBUTION) if we have a good contribution for this forum by posting a good reply then achievement will be follow.  Also there are many users here in forum who gave their merits by a task or let say that free merits to those users who complete the task by the OP.

Please let's help each other out.
Make your goal to benefit the forum members and enrich the content by posting exclusive threads to help beginners and put resources, you can post your predictions resulting from your technical analyzes about the most promising altcoins for investment this year, post good trading strategies and ways to protect investor money from scammers and post a topic related to good bounties for bounty hunters to participate this year, there are a lot of ideas through which you can acquire a lot of merits, just fill your mind and abide by the rules of the forum and the rules of posting, then start.

It's too early to mention merit, you should first learn how the forum system works, sooner or later you'll understand how to get merit.
Merit is not something that is hard to come by, the forum has provided a very generous Merit Source and some contributors who won't let quality posts pass you by.
As a newcomer, you should learn important information as a reference/information in order to continue to exist in the forum, I recommend you to stop by at Thread Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ in order to know all the rules of the forum.

Just like the name sounds, it requires one to be steadfast in creating quality posts and be active in meaningful ways for merits to be earned. Truly, you got to have earned the trust or admiration of someone either in person or from being a constant on this forum, for you to rake in merits which not only guarantees, but ascertains the presence of your brand.
Someone might just vibe with your style overtime and thus favor you by awarding merits to encourage your efforts. Furthermore, the way and manner in which one expresses and constructs a posts, either by adhering to the forum guidelines or its rules, is sure to earn one good merits from different sources.

You can get them either by means of helpful topics and answers, news, sharing Bitcoin adoption related stories, reporting scammers, etc.

But don't expect that every post mentioned above can guarantee you some merit. That's not how it works.

You'll treat merit as a bonus perk or unexpected blessing. Never beg for merits. And also never have a mindset of posting here just for the sake of merits. You'll get frustrated for sure with that kind of mindset.

Just be helpful without expect anything in return. One day you'll get there and achieve like the experienced. Coz' before we got this rank, we were used to be newbies like you too.

There are no shortcuts to success. You've got to earn it by being a respectable and valuable member of this forum.

Merit are like ranks that shows hierarchy of members of the forum. Ranks can also be use to determine how member of the forum engage in the forum activities. Ranks are earned when you contribute positively and also enlightened members of the forum about your bitcoin knowledge, you can also gain merit when you contribute to a question being asked by any member of the forum. Merit can be earned in so many ways in this forum, just stay active and contribute in any way you can.

To get merit, of course I don't really know the problem myself because I'm still a beginner in the bitcoin talk forum. but in my opinion
and my guess is that if we want merit, of course, our chats must be correct and not off topic, basically everything we do on bitcointalk must be of high quality.
Both high-quality posts and thoughtful responses to other people's posts merit consideration. But most importantly, put merit aside and learn whatever it is that you want to learn in this forum if you want to learn. Once you have a thorough understanding of the forum, merits will follow.

Hey, buddy would you please explain further about this question? what exactly do you mean by this?

As a newbie, I suggest you read about merit in some of the other threads that have been well made specially by staff or high-rank people to understand further. I won't explain more about the merits cause we all know there are many great explanations regarding this here.

However, I probably want to share with you how we can actually search for the topics that we want to know in this forum. For example, merit. You can simply go to the "search" column in the home section and type the keyword that you want to search, or just click the "search" button beside the "help" button in the home section for advanced search features.

You can actually search it first before making a thread buddy cause I'm sure for this simple topic, there are many people who have discussed it here. Just my 2 cents, and enjoy your time in this forum buddy.

Good advice.
The search function on this forum helps very quickly in finding answers to specific questions, especially such general questions about merits that have already been answered a thousand times over the past few years.
However, the same questions are asked over and over again and this is why the discussion on this forum dies down, because people get bored reading the same topics over and over again.
I'm afraid there isn't much help here.
