I believe in SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. To put it bluntly, only the best ICOs will remain. Honestly, there's a plethora of projects that are DOOMED to fail. Didn't read the thread in full, hopefully nobody's saying that crypto will perish?
I am confident that the crypto industry will actively develop in the near future. And it will greatly improve people's lives.

No people know what happen the upcoming days, as long as the person believes and uses altcoin then 5 or 10 years ago still exist with a higher price. 
In my opinion the volume and market capitalizasion will increase multiple times up to a billion dollar, the price of BTC can be around $500K or more, in every years crypto market will growing exponential and many people will come to it to make money, and also many starts ups will turn their product and service by use blockchain and cryptocurrency. In 5 to 10 years can be 10% to 15% people in the world will jump in to cryptocurrency.
Many try to predict the future for years, but they are based only on the information of several months. I do not think that it is necessary to assess such a distant perspective, everything can drastically change due to some new circumstances.
I believe that it is simply unacceptable to make guesses for such a significant period. After all, one month with crypto reminds me a whole year in traditional markets.
I think that in 5 years, from all current projects there will be a percentage of 3-5% no more. The majority will be useless or fail to compete
I wonder what projects will eventually be used in everyday life, now there are favorites in various fields of application, but every year new ones appear and the selection becomes tighter
Crypto industry will be more known to people and many countries will accept in 5-10 years from now. Crypto currency were accepted in all transactions that we made in our daily living. Thats what I saw that will going to happen after 5-10 years.
The crypto currency in 5 - 10 years time, it will be matured enough by then, many people will get to adopt dapps over centralized app and by then full regulation would have entered the space making it safer for any to join the crypto space easily.

It seems to me, the situation will improve. But no one can accurately predict what will happen in a few years. Although in any case I remain optimistic and confident in the future future of crypto.
My assumption for this would be majority of all the altcoins will be on high already and I guess, some of the alts could have rocketed high.
Some alts may have not make it in 5 to 10 years and others might have discontinued because the price value could have not make it.

There will be great development in 2 years, because the beginning of anything is very difficult and slow, but this year you will find that many projects have sprouted above the digital currency and started to grow, so there will soon be results.

I guess, the government already plays a major role in cryptocurrency by that time with more countries issuing their own crypto and joining ICOs and exchanges will be a lot hassle than it is today.

The cryptoindustry will penetrate deeply into all spheres of business, as it helps to simplify the majority of business processes. In addition, the banking system will undergo restructuring, especially in terms of international transfers. Most likely there will be a bank cryptocurrency replacing SWIFT
Even though, we can't tell the price of a specific cryptocurrency, I think whole market capitalization will be much more than now, especially when nice projects are established well and become successful. Some really fine projects are still in the idea stage for now.
I'd love to see more altcoins introduced in the market but i think, the top 5 or 10 coins will be largely unaffected 5 years down the road. Maybe ETH might replace BTC or something like that though
Predicting cryptocurency value over a period of time can almost be impossible as the market is volatile and many a times very unstable. It will therefore be almost impossible to know what the industry will look like in 5years to come. its however our hope that that by then, cryptocurrency will have been widely accepted by most and the industry will be bettre in terms of valuation and trust
