I think the bear market has been over for a while now. We've seen steady price recovery for the last 6 months or so. Now we've had a dip over the last week, but I don't think that's a long-term trend. Long-term I think the bear has ended and we are moving towards a bull market.

It is good to be Optimistic, but sometimes you assume the worst so as to be able to endure the hard time, we have thought the bearish  be over by now, different speculations...with the view of things, the bear persists, there is a lenght to which everyone can persevere in tough time. how long can you endure the bear?
losses are the general situation of many speculators now. The whales have actually come up with their strategy when manipulating the price of bitcoin plummeted to the bottom of $ 7k8.
but I still have positive thoughts about the cycles of any financial market. dump -> pump
there will be no financial market going down forever, it will have periods of growth and I will have the patience to wait for it.
I will not continue trading, I just hold and dont mention it from here until 5 more months. Grin

people who already have principles will hold until they feel that the time to sell them has arrived. how long they can endure the bear, only they themselves can answer it. but, we all know that selling it now you will lose.
by the way, if this is about me, I will keep holding it until the price approaches $ 15k and when the price approaches $ 15k, I will think about it  Wink

Assuming the worst is a really nice defense mechanism, which we could perfectly apply to our crypto adventure. The prices shoot up and then nosedive and then move a little sideways and then nosedive again, and so on and so forth, up to eternity most probably unless there will come a stability of some sort that many of us are waiting and hoping.

But what had just happened is not the worse, far from it, not even close. The price fell, there was more than a thousand USD lost, but it quickly stopped as it quickly happened and we are now seeing a little green. This is not the worse for sure. I don't mind enduring this round. If I'm not mistaken, we will be seeing better days within a week's time.

I can endure until the bulls will come. I have endured worst of times in the past. This dump in prices within a few days is nothing compared to the $20,000 to $3,000 unimaginable dump in BTC and $1,400 to $150 dump in ETH price and others.

Patience is always the key. The crypto ride, after all, has always been as bumpy.

As long as you are not selling you are not losing anything. If you had been in the market for too long, the drop from ATH down to the dip of the market had been the worst loss most people had. The market will teach you patience. Just enjoy the bear market buy buying small chunks, and do not focus too much in crypto, get a life, find something to do, find a job, and do other things while the market is not favorable or profitable. Trade once in a while and gain profit. That would lessen being be too stressed with the current market situation.

Everyone has their own beliefs. sometimes it is not realistic but sometimes they are faced with no choice but to hold. bitcoin is very fluctuative and people know it. easy rising easy falling. people should accept that and take action with their assets.

Endure?

If you are optimistic about the future price, then it doesn't matter what the price is now. If you are not optimistic and this drop in price is something that you must "endure", then it might be better for you to exit.

What's wrong here, user who is experiencing this kind of dropping for the first time will think of selling while others knew the reality. It will get growing slowly reaching bigger price, we have to have patience as there is no deadline by which the price will reach the point from which it went steep down.

This has nothing to do with Meta. Please move it.
Anyway no matter how the market is doing 1BTC=1BTC... if you sell, you loose no matter what is the price.
Just have patience, all nice thinks take time... and here we are talking about years.

Well said, losses only come to those who sold their BTC at the lower rate they acquired it.

As of how long I can endure, I can say as long as I have enough money from my day job to pay for my bills and family expenses then I can endure until BTC goes down to 0 value.

At this point losses also came to people who bought at the peak of 2017 bull market and kept their coins. You should not think that buying and holding will always be profitable. There will be a moment when bitcoin stops growing and stabilizes and maybe even goes down never to reach that point again. It may not be now but it will happen some time in our future. There will be a last bull market and hope it's not going to be the one when you go all in.

I've seen my holdings shrunk 300% from where it was during the 2017 bull run to the crash of 2018 but I'm still here. I've seen $3000 levels along the way from a $19000 top, but that doesn't deter me from investing or still staying even though it hurts the wallet already (hint: it really doesn't.) I've been profiting since 2015 off of bitcoin and crypto and it's a rare opportunity to be had only to throw it away just because of a single crash that isn't like any other crash.

Perhaps you'll still see me posting and yapping about all things bitcoin-related for decades more, here in this very forum--if it still exist by then.

That is right. We will always see this kind of price movement. We might labeled this week as price crash but as compared to last year's performance, we are still way beyond the previous price level. If you are a long time crypto user, you will not ask this to yourself - how long can you endure? Because you know better. This is only the tip of the iceberg of your life in crypto. You have been in much worst condition, yet you stay. Why would you give up now? Now that the adoption is growing and more crypto users are learning the right way.

Depends because people are way too different in terms of risk management and emotion level. Some might really that touchy and some do endure no matter what happens into this market.

It isn't really that easy specially you have thrown up some funds to invest and seeing the price is gradually dumping down would really make you panic.
Being a hodler isn't really that easy to say nor to endure yet you would able to see the good and the worst along the way.

The presence of cowards is a tribute to the brave.
Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are our future. It is the future of our money, guaranteeing that we can live like real people.
So we must continue to work and contribute to the blockchain by ignoring our lives. We are poor people, but humanity is not.

I do not know any other system that is worth to endure. Yes, crypto trading is what most of us use to make some profit but it is not appropriate to use it only as a source of earnings. Our problem is that we value states' papers more than cryptocurrency. The papers we need to meet our needs, but I think that is enough. Lets see crypto for its own value, the bear market has always been, and is what it should be. Do not stop waiting for a happy end, some of us have already stopped believing that is why the price goes down.  Sad

In order to endure this kind of scenarios in the market, you just gotta trust the process. I've hodling most of my coins since January 2018, and yes, I'm starting to have doubts about hodling anymore since it just keeps on going down, and I'm losing my hope but I've realized that this is not forever, it might just take some time before this bearish market would be over but it will be worth the wait, in my opinion.

I need funds so spend in my everyday living so I've sold some of the shitcoins I have and luckily I have a sideline job in the real world that's helping to do live and pay my bills every month.

Yeah you're probably better off moving it to economics or off topic.

Anyway, anyone seasoned in investing with bitcoin will know to hold onto their coins during a dip because there's no up side to selling once we have fallen. I shorted bitcoin in the dip and bought back in half way through, however it didn't make much of a profit so equally you shoildvt make so much of a loss on the way down thst you consider pulling out and avoiding btc... You gotta get used to this market tother wise there is no hope. When everyone around you is bullish or bearish and you don't know what to do, the best thing to do is hodl.
