If you are in crypto trading full time and have time to follow every single movement in the market, take as many coins as you can, keep a track on when to dump and pump. When necessary you may go down to one coin that is expected to boom but in general, like most other said, dividing also divides the risk so keep that in mind as well.

Rule of thumb is to invest what you afford to lose in trading and specially with cryptocurrency that is high risk. Numbers is not important and no one can really answer that question but yourself.

not much much, I just hold back a few that I think it's a good coin, which is likely to go up 2-5x from the current price in the future

Hey guys today i have a special question.
i am HODLing 11 different coins right now including bitcoin...it that too much or should i spread even more?

My opinion is make a wide spread so your dont have that big loss. on the other hand also not that big win...

What do you think?
Not much, you still can add more if you think that you can manage them all.  It could be just an easy for the people that there is no work other than these. As their life and time are just given into crypto world every day unlike the others that they just having these just for sideline job.

Only bitcoin right now. Stay away from Alts until this summer. Bitcoin goin for 50k

I have the same feeling altcoins could take longer recovery route. But i doubt there are remain as cheap as m,ost of their price are pegged against BTC. I think some altcoins are still quite expensive now.

These days I have the feeling that there's too much relativity between bitcoin and alts. Anytime BTC market falls the alt market tumbles, and any time it rises, the alt's market has a hope of going in the same direction. So if BTC is gonna hit 50k, I have a pretty good feeling that alts too will make headway this year.

The more you diversify your investments, the more you insure your investment, but in the same way the potential gain is reduced

I hold approximately 15 coins. I think 5-20 is suitable because market is growing very fast and this means many new investment opportunities. We should buy more different coins.
Agree on this. You need exposure (with different risk/reward ratios) but also need enough to be able to follow news for each of them and make educated decisions along the way.

Diversification is the best strategy but only invest in quality projects that you truly believe will do well, stay away from useless and static projects, they will not provide you any value.

I think holding trading more than 5 - 6 altcoins is not a good thing. because it is not easy to follow everything about the altcoins graphs, news, updates etc. If you have 15 20 altcoins it is really impossible to follow each of them everyday. If you do not follow each of them, there is high risk to loose money.

I have 5 coins in my portfolio for a long-term perspective, I do not buy them at a high price, so they are sufficient and promising coins can make serious capital, but you can lose. Therefore, you need to reduce the risk of diluting them with other coins.

There is always to have few coins from the top10 - min 5 coins. Also good is have cheap, but promising coins that not even show up on Coinmarketcap, you can look for such projects in announcement threads, or even in ICO threads. I think that number of 10 coins to hold in basket is very balanced.

If you invest in all the coins and the tokens and you have the capital to invest the best thing to do is to invest in them. The more you invests the more probability you have to make money and your risk of lose money is reduce. Invest is a game of risk therefore you should not put money that you cannot afford to lose.

As far as I remember I hold like 7 coins or something right now, half secure half risky. I consider to hold 15 coins over time with my wage saves. I think more than 20 is too much in this matter. Very hard to follow all.

Around 10 are enough, just focus on great projects and don't invest in all of them because you will also increase your risk if you invest in too many projects. Personally I only hodl Bitcoin and Ethereum.

There's no limit on holding coins as long as you believe on every coin go for it because I assume that you are knowledgeable enough to hold on that. I just hold coins that I know can make good profit for me just like NEM and BTC. Patience is what we need, believe and it will be worth it.

I think number of coins is not important so long as you can track those. Holding as many good coins as you can afford to buy is fine otherwise you are going to miss out on lots of new hot ICOs. There is no sure way to know which ones are the next 10x or 100x winners so diversifying is useful here.
