I have spoken to family and close friends about it and you'll all know what I mean when I say they all gave me that "I don't care" blank kind of expression as if they have no interest what so ever and are wanting to change the subject and talk about some crap they understand.

Basically ALL seemed extremely narrow minded.

A few have made fun of it and in the end I thought to myself I can't be bothered to talk to them about it anymore.

I've only had one friend come up to me recently who's been lurking on here on this forum for a while asking me a few questions.

I was surprised he'd been researching it but he just wants to buy and hold 1 "just in case" it goes up exponentially.

So.... I've told maybe 20 people and only 1 is partially interested only because he is scared of missing the boat.

Damn sheeple and their mainstream media.

I introduced bitcoin to over 20 people, friends and family. They are interested in knowing what it is and how it is different to other digital payment systems, but no one actually caught on to bitcoin. I asked a few of them why. Most of them said they don't know where to buy bitcoin.

I have had some luck with few friends that were already receiving payments online. They got to know and use bitcoin.

As of the rest, I gave them a very brief explanation about the concept behind bitcoin. Most people find it interesting but have no interest in participating themselves.

I have tried to introduce it to friends, colleagues and family. Interestingly, most people had heard of bitcoin, but did not know how to get involved. The steep starting curve was what kept most people from buying some.

The people that accepted it were only family. My sister and grandfather. I made paper wallets for both and both are still holding it today. Asking for price updates every now and then.

I think it's really cool that my grandfather was interested in it, although I have to say he was always in to investing and new technologies.

Keep it dense, yeah?
Maybe about 20 people or so, but it's usually regarding exchanges and the price movements around Bitcoin. I certainly haven't recommended that any get involved with financial commitment, well apart from one guy...

I've argued some of the merits of the Blockchain to some of the doubters.

I actually recommended and tipped a few people upto 0.005 bitcoins(1$ in value) after introducing them to bitcoin and telling them all the advantages, but only one of them claimed it, and I get most of them refunded as they don't accept it. Not sure why it is so . But just sending and telling doesn't do the trick. I guess people should literally walk them through and show them how it can be more useful than Fiat and the banking system to get them hooked to it.

I have shared the knowledge of bitcoin to 278 people. Only 47 accept my teaching, but I do not upset.  Of the 47, like jewels shine 7 truly bitcoin gurus and masters among nations.

To eagle top the highest moon mountain, I run up with pain. Bitcoin is truth comparable the wisdom of the old man's laughter. I carry this laughter as flame with the laser of freedom explode the darkness.

Your country may be your worst enemy
This is no business. Yes, I've talked about BTC to a few friends and some family, but I'm afraid I can't answer your question. I don't count the number the people I'm talking to, nor do I know how convincing I was, as I don't keep track of who bought some BTC after meeting me and who didn't.
Sorry.

I stopped trying to introduce it to friends.  Most of the time they are concerned that I am getting scammed.  I tell them what it is but they won't listen!  SOme of my tech savvy friends have heard of it, those ones usually just shrug and say something like "so you got some bitcoins?  Cool."

And two of them already have bitcoins, that is when I seriously get my nerd on.

I have introduced it to a few friends who a criminally insane and have money to become unseen, it has worked well for them so far, I know this because nothing has happened to me and I have received some nice bonuses over the year. I would never introduce it to people I like though  Cheesy

Most of my friends sort of scratch their heads when I try to talk about bitcoin.  They ask things like "can't it be hacked" and "why is it worth anything."  I explain these things, and then they ask things like "so why can't it be hacked again?" of "so why is it worth anything again?"

Maybe I need to be less technical in my explanations and just say "its digital currency."  Most of them have trouble wrapping their minds around the decentralized nature of bitcoin.  I think with time people will take it or granted, like a computer or car motor: something that most people have no idea how it works, but most people don't care: they just use the stuff and don't worry about it.

I only knew bitcoin because of the media hype, so I never introduced bitcoin to other people.

And I think they would not accept it if I did

I refer to three of my friends that I can remember. Two of him still in the dark but the last one is a tech geek so he understands it pretty well. He is using it on a small scale.

That depends on how it is the Currency Behavior..

I would never recommend it to friends, real ones, if it's passing a bad moment, because of course, they will loose their money. They will never accept it and maybe instead of friend I could be an enemy for them.
In Bitcoin bad times I would recommend X people that I don't even know because that would be profitable for me  Wink

While I got introduced to it from a friend and I did tell a few friends about what I was into a 1 or 2 actually got involved but I have never nor will I ever recommend it to any friend of family! It is great and all but it is not something to fall out with people you like over. If I would have got here in 2011 most definitively would have told them to spend a $100 and hold that is not enough to keep me awake at night but now they would be investing a lot more, not worth the hassle.

I had a hard time telling my relatives and friends about Bitcoin. How to earn it , what is the benefit of it , is this like a game or something etc. Well I don't know the answer cause me too don't have a knowledge about bitcoin until I searched some answers from Google search.

First is about the wallet , online wallet is my first to encounter.

Second how my wallet will have some coins.

Third how will I able to withdraw real money from here.

One of the CS of the online wallet that I signed up told me that to get my money I need to exchange them in my currency. How is it possible? Im clueless until I found this forum and luckily my country has its own thread here and then boom they gave me some useful tips , information about earning some bitcoins. Now I found about faucets and I really spend my time fauceting all day and earned 100k-200k satoshis a day for almost half a month when I introduced to Bitcoin world. Im happy because my wallet now have little satoshis because of fauceting but then I read here that some of faucets are waste of time but still Im continue fauceting because I think it's not. Until someone suggest me joining sig campaign to boost my earnings and it works! I encountered some mining pools (even ponzi's) too. And I learned here in forum that it's so many ways to earn BTC even you don't have a knowledge about it at first.  And then that's it Im automatically gaining some knowledge about bitcoin little by little everyday just by reading comments and analyzations here. Today , Im still lack knowledge about the whole BTC world but at least I gained some. Smiley

Now I introduced this to my friends by explaing them step by step of what I did, person to person , cam to cam lol , skype to skype , showing them the way , and yeah I think about 20-30 of my fb friends try it (I'll posting about faucets that day in my FB wall that's why they see it). Also I share some of my BTC experience in other forum. They find it hard at first and they do not want my fauceting adventure haha. They buy and sell BTC and some of them now has more knowledge to me haha.

I used to buy bitcoin. I recommend my brother to mine bitcoin and it is profitable. He accepted it! BTW, I share my knowledge of bitcoin with my friend! He dismissed my idea and said bitcoin has no value and just virtual internet things, which cannot be touched or held!

Well, I know Bitcoin because my friend used to recommend me. So I would recommend Bitcoin to all of my friends, and maybe some of my family.

How are you going to recommend it to your friends and family? And could you share with us how did your friend recommend it to you?

I will earn a big profit from Bitcoin, and then I wold recommend my friends and family to use Bitcoin. If they asking "Why should I use Bitcoin?", and the I would explain how much money I could earn from Bitcoin Grin

Well, I already know Bitcoin since before he was recommending to me.
And one day, he asked me this: "Do you know about Bitcoin a Digital Currency which is being widely discussed lately?". And then I said "yes", because I've ever heard about Bitcoin.
And after that day, he explain me about what is Bitcoin. So finally a few days later, I started to earn Bitcoin ONLINE Wink
