They cite IntoTheBlock which is a blockchain analytics company. again I’m not too sure how they get these but I think the numbers are too small to represent the whole world. Nevertheless the different categories of holders and the proportions of the same may provide some insight for whatever the OP is trying to ascertain. These numbers may or may not be replication of the rest of the market.
According to their data, there are 52.79M holding addresses with 67.95% holders 1+ yrs, 25.35% holding for 1-12 months and 6.70% accounting for traders who hold for very short durations.
Most of these addresses hold <1k (83.14%), 16.01% holds between 1k to 100k and 0.85% hold >100k.

There are many set of people owning Bitcoin so it will be quite hard to evaluate the exact number of people holding because not everyone is actually holding some folks are trading and another are short term holders and some folks watch the exchange rates to make profits from different exchange rate on the price of Bitcoin and other crypto in the market.

it's too difficult to do that, because basically we don't know how many wallets each person has, how many have bitcoin, how many are given to other people, and so on. In fact, I believe that the number of wallets will continue to increase every day, and we don't know who created them, whether it is a new user, or an old user. Apart from that, we also don't know whether there is a minimum amount to be a holder or not, because people still hold bitcoin in amounts below 0.001 BTC. But this much can be said over the past few years, the number of Bitcoin investments and holders has increased manifold. Bitcoin is not legal in many countries so I think it is impossible to know the exact number of investors and holders. Now many people in our country have chosen Bitcoin as a safe asset. Even if Bitcoin is not illegal in our country, seeing the success of Bitcoin, many people in our country are secretly investing in Bitcoin and trying to hold for long term. In the current situation of Bitcoin, this much can be understood, it is expected that the number of investors and holders of Bitcoin will increase several times in the future.
It only be accounted properly if we all are using a single exchange but we have a lot of exchanges available in the market and they won't also speak out. I don't think it is necessary to know instead, let us assume that the number of Bitcoin holders is growing fast every day.
However, we could also say that even though the number of holders is growing, some also are leaving.

Unfortunately, there’s no key to determine the over all bitcoin hodlers in the crypto market, but I’m definitely sure that it’s a lot and limitless. Most especially that bitcoin is the top coin in the crypto space, majority of the hodlers will certainly hold bitcoin over altcoins.
However, the challenge here is if they can really make it hodling for long term knowing bitcoin is so much volatile. While determined hodlers will keep it hodling no matter what, majority of the newbies will end up panic selling since they can’t stand the pressure that is brought by volatility in the price of bitcoin.

It doesn't matter to know the exact number of holders, the most important is that the number of investors/holders is quite growing fast. It means that there is a huge market appreciation happening already and people see the benefits from Bitcoin. In the next couple of years from now, it possibly tripled (or more) its numbers.
We're not sure someday we'll get accurate data or that is still impossible because a single person can create multiple wallet addresses. Perhaps, they are anonymous, we never owe them to let us know.

I don't think it's possible for you to know the number of persons that have bitcoin at the moment because first of all, there are some persons that want to keep their financial dealings privately and bitcoin enhances that or gives that support for you to keep your private financial life or their bitcoin investment private away from the eyes of the public, so it will be very hard for you to find out how many persons are holding bitcoin at the moment, however I've not seen any matrics that can be used to approximate the number of holders. There are a lot of wallets that have been registered and we certainly know that sometimes 1 person can have more than one wallet so that it will also make it difficult to identify besides that we also probably know that most of what is happening now for the problem of identifying someone is clear that it will be hampered by privacy and anonymity and this is also another problem that should be taken into consideration so that for the problem of the number of bitcoin holders this will never be identified in terms of the total number.

Because some people have lost access to their Bitcoin or cannot own it for various reasons such as forgetting passwords or losing private keys. The actual number of Bitcoin owners may be much lower than the number of wallets, as some individuals may hold multiple wallets and some wallets are businesses or May be owned by other companies. The number of active Bitcoin users and investors is constantly changing as new people enter the market and others exit. Although there is no exact metric available for the number of people who own Bitcoin, it is safe to say that there are millions of Bitcoin owners worldwide, with the number constantly evolving.
