Well, today bitcoin is already very popular, even the remotest country bitcoin already known. perhaps 30% of the world's population already using bitcoin, and perhaps 80% of the world population is already familiar with bitcoin, and 30% of the world population who are not familiar with bitcoin. I think people who do not know bitcoin only people who rarely use technology

About 15-30 million given how many people join us from SE Asia, I'd say we have easily passed the 10million mark, but not all people are active users.

According to the chart shown below, only around 400k unique Bitcoin addresses are being used daily. On the one hand, an individual may have multiple addresses corresponding to a single wallet, while on the other, Bitcoin exchanges, for example, might have fewer addresses than the total number of their clients. In any case, we can assume that the number of active Bitcoin users roughly equals this figure, i.e. about 400k users. Surely, a far cry from millions claimed...

The chart is taken from here

Yes, that might be the case, although you have to see that most bitcoin users might trade their coins p2p, so you have to add up all exchanges + localbitcoins and other trading places.

So i'd say roughly 3 million active, and about 15 million in total who were active or are active but less active.

Even if it were 15 million worldwide, which it can't be, that's still sad considering Pokémon Go has 24 million unique daily users and it's just a game. The market cap for Bitcoin is only $10 billion. That's sad considering Walt Disneys cap is $147 billion and Coca Cola is $179 billion.

Give it time, those companies are 50+ years old, or even 100 I think.

Bitcoin is only 7 years old, what do you expect? It takes time to grow.

Pokémon Go is six months old and is only in the USA and has 24 million registered users daily. Bitcoin is world wide, is seven years old, can be used for purchases all over the web and a local game is beating it in popularity. WTF?

I voted for option number 2, from 2 to 5 million. I think there is that much people that are familiar with bitcoin, and probably not all of them are using bitcoins everyday. I'm watching this statistics in some comments, if we are under 1 million users that is great then, imagine where are we know with this community and with a bit more people where we can be?
It doesn't mater how many of us is here and using bitcoin, it's important how united we are.

I think it's 2 millions of members that we have right now, or more. That is only to my rough estimation. And in my observation we have member here that has multiple account in bitcoin talk.org meaning the 2 millions can possible to multiply in to 2 or more.

I think total number of bitcoin address generated till now is over 5 million but actual number of bitcoin users may be way lower as even one single bitcoin user can create thousands of bitcoin address according to their need.

I voted 30 million but was surprise that 2 million has the highest vote, with bitcoin popularity it should go 10 million  but we cannot tell the exact figure, because people can create as many address as they want, coinbase seems to give a good stat, because they had a data..

The numbers are really increasing everyday compared to earlier days. This has reached every corner of the world. Many have this as their main job in their career. My prediction would be, at least minimum 100 to 150 users are joining everyday in this forum. Either they start up with a new account registering in this forum or buy an account to start with. So the awareness is getting spread every day by all sources.
i do not think this forum is a good way to predict how much people use bitcoin. not everybody knows about this forum and we mainly speak in english so this is a problem to some.
also the number of new/bought users is a bad indicator.

It took me just a few days to find out about this forum when I first heard about Bitcoin. So I highly doubt that anyone seriously interested in this cryptocurrency would not stumble upon this forum sooner or later. And I would say, rather sooner than later. Regarding languages spoken here, most have their own local boards, therefore it shouldn't be a problem, either...

Perhaps, it is not a perfect marker, but still a good approximation

I wont even know there is this thing like this forum without the help of a friend. So it is hardly known also. I have been with many forums but this one is different. Anyway, what you are pointing is true. It will take time. It will need a big blast for it to be known. There is too much to consider.

* India Counts over 1 Million Bitcoin Users

https://bitconnect.co/bitcoin-news/258/bitcoin-progress-report-india-counts-over-1-million-bitcoin-users/

* Blockchain.info counts nearly 10m wallet users (some of those 1 million Indian users might have wallets on Blockchain.info; and some others might have multiple wallets on there)

https://blockchain.info/charts/my-wallet-n-users?timespan=180days

* Some research says there are less than 5m active users and it won't go over that number until 2020

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-users-approach-5-million-mark-2019-juniper-research-reports/

So, how many people do you think are currently using Bitcoin?

Not looking good:

Please try to use links to any *good* sources of user stats; pretty please, with sugar on top.  "My mom thinks it's less than 20" type of bollocks will get you deleted off the face of this earth.

I think it is hard to count how many people who use butcoin. There is no good technology to count it becouse I read that someone can have more than one wallet. The said they do it for security of their bitcoin. But if i guess may be 2 million people is using bitcoin as currency or an investment.

I am unable to predict it. But very sure, the the strength is increasing ever hour. The moment BTC's benefits reaches a person, a registration happens here. This is the zeal towards earning BTC as only bitcoin's price is very high compared to other currencies. Its even convenient for all purposes and for all. As it is a degital currency, can convert our local currency to BTC and save as much as we can without tax. I am sure more money would become to an existence if many become aware of it.

I found this article to be interesting and topical to this thread concerning current attempts at counting categories of bitcoin users and attempting to recognize trends in the bitcoin ecosystem.
