It is difficult to say exactly or calculate the exact number of people. I no longer communicate with some acquaintances and do not know how my stories about cryptocurrencies had an effect on them. At the moment, I can say for sure about two of my good friends who hold a part of their finances in cryptocurrencies, and not only in bitcoins.

I got one of my friends to be paid in bitcoin and showed her the ropes. She loved it and now earns mostly in bitcoin. Often trading fiat for bitcoin then buying through local market places that support bitcoin payments.

I think 1 person can make a difference and make a big difference. If we all introduce 1 person to bitcoin then we double the users right? So there you go if we all do our part and bring in just 1 person we grow so much. Now imagine that person brings in another person and so on and so forth.

Can one person make a difference? Until today more than 10 people bought Bitcoin because of me and I want to know how much influence do we have on people around us so we can understand how effective we are in spreading Bitcoin worldwide.
I have introduced bitcoin to many people and i am sure many are active in the market but i am not certain how much bitcoin they have purchased as i am not intruding in what they do with their money but i have helped many to understand the market and how to safe guard their money from fraud and how a small investment could make a difference as you can have a complete control over your money without the need of a third person Smiley.

A lot of people ask me about bitcoin but I only manage to convince one person to buy bitcoin, that's a success for me as somehow I contributed for the adoption, LOL.

It's hard to convince people if they are not open minded as most of the people that approached me, sees bitcoin as a ponzi scheme where they want to get big and quick profit in bitcoin, so they were not able to invest on it.

I have known bitcoin since 2015, because I see some of my friends on Facebook write about bitcoin, then I am interested and then join crypto. At first I only bought 1.6btc for $ 550, then in a few months the price rose to $ 750. I started to be happy and invited my sister, brother and friend. They are interested and until now they are still hoping that bitcoin can go to the moon.

Wow. i didnt notice that itt will be a good question.
Now, I will need to ask those fools which I have taught about what bitcoin is if they really bought 1 or a couple of it. Grin

I do know there is one which is still active in sharing about the good news of bitcoin and maybe, just maybe he did bought bitcoin.
I will ask for transaction history just so to have some proofs and also for laughs. ;Da

Many people know that I play and make money with Bitcoin but no one around me tries to buy it, most of them just want to know what Bitcoin is.

Nice thread actually.

Referred friends of mine to bought Bitcoin. They were really happy once they knew what is Bitcoin, but it is just a matter of time until they gave up just because they didn't get anything from Bitcoin, unlike what they hear from me. It's normal, to see like that. Many people are just bandwagon and shit Smiley

Just my 2 brothers
I'm not comfortable to make people buy bitcoins because it's very stressful when people asking you everytime if they sell, if they buy, what to do if lose money etc
And then why would you do that if that would make you annoyed??

I specifically tell my family and friends not to invest in bitcoin because they're likely to get scammed or store large amounts of money on exchanges (which is very insecure)...

This sounds like it's written by someone who does not know that except crypto-exchanges we have : desktop, hardware, mobile, paper wallets... You actually talk to people around you that investing in bitcoin is scam, and in the same time you are involved and profit from same Huh

Hopefully zero. Tongue

I hate the idea of giving other people investment advice. I can flip some altcoins here and there, but I am no market guru. If I told someone to buy, the market might crash for the next year straight. I'd feel horrible about that, so I never tell people to buy.

I can not say that number of people who invest in bitcoin because of me is zero, but most of them understand it as a way to get rich quick, and that big correction from $20k to $3k was very cold shower for them. As you say I do not want to be responsible for other people money, not only because bitcoin is very volatile, but also for security of their coins. Nobody wants to invest $50 in hardware wallet, but in same time they ask when bitcoin will be $100k.

Not only I'm not encouraging people I know to buy Bitcoin, but I even advise them not to do this if they ask my advice. That is so because people I know personally normally don't invest in anything like stocks, gold etc, and they want to invest in BTC only because of the hype. If they were buying gold,  as a long-term investment, I would suggest them to buy Bitcoin instead.

Overall, I think people should do their own research about Bitcoin and draw their own conclusions. We shouldn't advise people to buy BTC, but we surely should make them know more about it because it's for their own good to know more about one thing that is definitely belongs to the future.

simply getting the job done
Not so long ago, I advised a friend to buy Bitcoin when it cost $ 3,500. It seems that it was in March-April 2019. Then he said that he did not believe in something that had no value under him. He said that bitkion is just "0" and "1". This month we met and he asked me if I bought bitcoin in March. I told him that I did not buy, because I bought it even earlier. Many people simply can not believe that Bitcoin is not just a "0" and "1" but a new reality that can change the world.

Personally I was able to convinced two of my housemates into buying bitcoin one of them bought at a price of $3600+ and sold off of at $12000 making some massive profits although his buying of the btc is based on hodling and makes profit vis-a-vis trading and not biased towards the technology aspect of btc in fact he was very happy to be involved in btc for the first time while promising to introduce more people to cryptocurrencies.

I don't tell people I own bitcoin now. Mostly for security reasons.

Back in 2013-2014 I told people because the price was low and I figured they wouldn't listen anyways. So after the price broke $10K a year back I had people asking whether they should invest or not.

I told them to wait until price was lower and buy then. They either didn't listen and bought at the top or when it hit $3K they didn't buy because the excitement was gone.

Better not to tell people about investing in Bitcoin. Most will go full 100x leverage on Bitmex and get rekt and then they will blame you for their loss.

None because i don't advice any of my friends or other people to buy or get into it because if the bitcoin price goes low they might panic and sell at loss and i don't want me to become the reason of their failure.

It was during 2017 when I started joining this forum and started joining bounty campaigns. I didn't buy bitcoin that time since it was too expensive for me and I convinced people to join me here as well but bitcoin was popping off back then and there are cheap altcoins that have a really good future like bitcoin. That is why they just bought altcoins instead of investing in bitcoin. They bought the coins that are less than $5.

no that many.
i think the reason is because i have always discouraged people from just investing in bitcoin while thinking of it as a get rich quick scheme and whenever someone asks me whether they are going to make a ton of money by buying bitcoin i will tell them "no you will lose all your money".
instead i have always encouraged them to see bitcoin as the decentralized currency it is and when you do that you discourage those money seeking people and only get people who are willing to learn a little and use bitcoin instead of holding it to dump a while later to go back to fiat.

I found a difficult thing when I give an offer to some of my close friend to bought bitcoin. They never thought bitcoin is really legit place to be use as some people says including me. They only thought bitcoin is a place which can make their money lost if they have a deal with. But I tried hard to convince them and just seven of my friend who bought it. I tried to explain how I can get money from bitcoin such as through trading they can hold it for long term and most of them choose to hold for long term. They bought bitcoin at December ago when it's price around $3700 if I not mistaken, but so far they still hold it and didn't took a decide to sold it when bitcoin price touch $13000 a few days ago. They have a target to sold their bitcoin when its price touch ATH last year.
