That would mean that somebody gives you 400 USD for free.
All you get from faucets is dust, you can play around with, a little bit, but there is no profit to make from that.

Five, six years earier, when the price of bitcoin was still very low, it might be possible, but I agree that nowadays it's almost technically impossible. Maybe if you have thousands of referals on some faucet rotator, where is a possibility to gather payments from a big number of faucets, you can earn a significant amount of bitcoin.. but 1 btc per week, it would be a huge success.

Agree with your opinion. gambling and dice sites flavoured with faucets aren't as regular faucets.

I have the very same feeling, my earnings went down rapidly just within last few weeks/days. 
As I said before, I know that faucets are not meant for making a big money, but if you work 8 hours a day on PC, sometimes you want to make a break. And why not to earn some satoshi with a few clicks during these breaks, when it can bring you one buck a week..just for fun.
But now, when they pay 50 satoshi or even less, anyone has hardly a motivation to visit these sites even for that fun..

Ever since google adsense read the riot act to faucet owners, over inducing visitors with rewards, earnings from faucets have gone way down that they are no longer manageable as it amounts to waste of precious time. When you do a faucet in order to get only 100 satochi every hours, that take a lot of your precious time to only reach the minimum cash out. Eventually people will get bored sooner or later and they will give up and never come back. I don't think they will disappear completely, but for new people on the scene is a good start in order to get some satochi.

Its because simple faucets are not profitable any more. You can't create faucet with reward for solving captcha and few adds on it and expect to earn money without adsense. People don't understand this. Simple faucets days are over, nobody will come to faucet for 100 satoshi, faucet owners will give lower rewards and even less people will come back, soon faucet will be dead. Only working faucets are faucets with some kind of games in them.

Realistically 30k per hour is decent so 30k x 24 =720k
720k x 7 = 0.0364 btc a week
If you want 1btc you need to make 0.142 or something btc per day
so over 0.005 an hour....
Also btc is $730 do you think it is going to be that easy to make that kind of money ?
