I no longer encourage the op to mine as it is a crime for him to do so.

I do not want him to go to jail or be punished by a beating etc.

Hearing all these story I totally agree with you, it is not so profitable.

No it is also prohibited to import those devices.. so yes the suffer is real the L3+ cost like 300$
How they get those things to Egypt? Illegal shit

Something similar happened here, and people found their ways... But of course there are also resellers with outrageous prices like yours.
But you may try finding someone who already owns one and is upgrading to something better, even if not all three boards are good, you might get it for a very good price, then install Braiins OS to maximize its efficiency.

Oh since he owns 3~4 AC i'm sure disconnecting one or two would give room to a couple of miners.

You mentioned that you live in egypt, i know a few people who mine there so let me break this down to you.

1- mining btc is illegal in egypt
2- you can not import mining gears , they will conficticated buy custom ( unless you know someone who would let it slip)
3- electricity infrastruce there is very terrible , i am pretty sure the wires at your house and the once coming in from the nearest transformer are probably close to their max, you add a few miners and you will fuck something up along the way.

So i would suggest you get an electriction to check all of that before doing anything, i think anything above 3_4 miners will cause you tons of troubles.

I live in Egypt and there is taxes and duties on every device i buy... it weighs 10Kg or sth.

if the s9 cost you 600 usd after government taxes  may I ask what does the L3+ cost you?  yes I know it is for LTC but  you have an unusual set of issues.  Cheap power but very high machine cost.

Could you order from UK  eBay and have it shipped into you?

Yes but they are ripping you off. Look at this pangolinminer shop screenshot:

$155 each S9... The M3 is a bit higher, now $75 (10) but was $50 in quantities of 5 a few weeks ago... I'm sure you can get even better prices if you dig more. S9s and M3s are ancient now and they are nearly sold for scraps.

Well this is the btc section.

I mine both coins. Op sounds like he is on a budget and the L3+ is a quieter miner  then the s9.  He could get an old s9 and put in the brainss software  which would allow for a 820 watt 10th s9 with slower fans.    it would earn about 50 in a month  and he could find the s9 for under 200 USD.

I wish it cost that much here it cost 600$ 😕 for a used s9.

lol to people who always think unnoticed power = free power.  Start running 100 miners+... when you blow up the whole neighborhood and streets power they will find you. lol

... Okay so guys I think I will start with 2 L3+ or something I have a budget for them but I dont have enough cash to buy 1000$+ Miner so I think the best case is L3+.

You should avoid those and stick to Bitcoin miners, get old S9, or M3s which are being sold dirt chip (50USD). The L3+ is a dead end and is already obsolete (also i have a report of it being too sensitive to hot temps, by having 4 Asic boards airflow isn't that great).

Since new ones are coming the S11 and S15 should have lowered price, and the M10 which is an excellent miner.
Also check your ambient humidity, under 20% is dangerous.

Yes you DO have a transformer. To put it more correctly, somewhere on the power lines feeding your house/business and others near you there are transformers that take grid voltages of several kVAC and step it down to what a house or business can use. Lines from those distribution transformers are what run to the several houses/businesses around it. THAT is the transformer that needs to be checked. ref https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distribution_transformer

Ohhh distribution trans. Ofcourse.

Even so you still have a limit, you have to inspect the transformers and stay below 80%. If it blows up not only will you get attention (and stay a long period without service) you might even get imprisoned. I remember here people would add magnets and such to manipulate these old analogic meters (which are still widely in use), even tho the rate is the cheapest worldwide. But a lot of people are simply unmetered. Water is the same situation.

Yours might be broken, but they might notice anyway if you over do it. Take advice and find out whats your max rated capacity by looking at your transformer, and look how much amps you are currently using with all your ACs and appliances on, such as clothes dryer, laundry machine at the rinse (spinning) cycle, etc. More so if this is a multi home setup.

"Maximum" benefit is simply buy the latest miner. Bitmain announced S17, MicroBT announced M20, and Cannan announced A10. You can wait for the forum reviewers to show the actual numbers.

But if you don't care, you can buy a cheap used S9 for like 150 USD and recover the costs in two or three months, only after that you will be earning, but consider by 3 months all those new efficient miners would have increased the worldwide hashrate lowering your income even more, so that's the drawback of buying old miners (aside from the previous owner abuse).

I would at least pick up 1 or 2 machines and mine away on btc.  Most people are hampered with electricity costs and if you can get away with it go for it.  I know people that have been successfully mining in Venezuela but they stay under the radar and don't get too greedy.

And i also know people getting busted for going over, and others getting extorted in spite of doing everything correctly, so yeah, not a good example country... I cringe when i see people insinuate bitcoin is "legal" here, but knowing the weight of the world "legal" in a country where law matters little, doesn't exactly matters. Besides, that "law" itself is not legal, but that would be a large and rather boring off-topic discussion.

Guys, I am not stealing from the streets, it is just that my electricity measurement tool is dead so i can control it and they never can tell me to change it because it has a warranty and the gov itself never changes it so I am sure.
So basically I got a stable 2$-3$ bill.
What im saying is how can I maximum get benefits from that + I sill have another apartment with nearly dump tool, so I am good but I need to get yhe miners tho

why not start by enjoying the situation for a bit and build up incrementally if you insist.. it sounds like starting with 1 or 2 mines is a good idea, see if you get caught, then its not so hard to sell.. these things are on 24/7 which i assume even your AC is not on more than 12 hours a day..?
