Like you have already said,it depends on the standard on of your living.
i believe being rich begins with having enough values needed meet ones requirement or need. extensively, having more than enough. which makes differences from wealth- Accumulated values.
from my own view. if one will not compare. it is the amount you possess that can meet one need or the other.

To make it big in life,you need to have lots of money so that you dont have to worry about anything in the life.
according to me 7$ million money would be enough for a person to lead a happy life and if the person deposit half of that money as fixed deposit ,that means getting a interest on that money,he will get a lot of money from that deposit and lead a very happy life.

This is quite an amazing question, a man should be considered a rich person when he/she owns a million dollar ($1m dollars) that's enough because with one million dollars you should me considered as "millionaire" not a commoner like everybody else! By the time you hit your first million dollar mark your name has an additional title called "Millionaire" and from that moment you gonna get some extra respect from the people around...Oh, Yeah!

what's your definition of rich and making it big in life?

say $3-5 million is way more than most people will ever see in their lives, but to purely live off that you couldn't really go crazy. you'd be comfortable for the rest of your life but you couldn't go flying private or buy a bunch of supercars.

i'd say tens of millions gives you enough to throw your money around without ever having to think about it.
