Yes, greed has led lots of scams out there, how would someone jump into a project you have been told it isn't real but because of its growth escalation you went to buy and instead of selling immediately you expecting more gains. And secondly is uncertainty, no proper research, hype has made many investors cry till date.

Quick money-making scheme of course the most dangerous. I also tried to make money on them, but in the end I lost money. But it made me realize that there is no easy money. And in order to get something you need to work hard.

Please try to include telegram scams on your list, they are trending big now and almost all newbies from india have fall victim to this scam tricks, scammers steal project teams image and use a near identity name too, for example a legit project team member can  go by @fisher as the username and scammers will change the name to @flsher with same profile image to give you good offer, if you don't check very well you will think its legit
Ok, I would add this with a quote right now, don't know why this skipped my mind, many of my friends has fallen victim to it in the past.

This was really helpful. Personally I think GREED is the main reason being scammed. Some people unwisely follow fancy links(ads) where they are dreaming about getting lots of money but actually they are losing it. We should take our decision wisely before investing on a project.

It is all bout rushing in without having further research about the project. Greed has always been a part of it but I don't we can just let it go yet specially with this opportunities. FOMO is always with it as well besides such chances are only for limited participants be better to go quick or rather lose it. But that doesn't mean you have to go all through well without looking for further details. Might be able to avoid scam if people are all strict and cautious before participating into any project.

Rushing a project like you have said, it's not good. That must be the key in my opinion too Smiley.

I have seen a lot of projects that started off as a legit project and paying people, and on the long run it turned out to be a scam. Some scammers will present themselves as legit and when they have paid people for sometime and get to convince them that they are legit, by then people will start to invest lots of money and before you know what's happening they will stop working and disappear.

So it's good to do a proper research about any project and not just based on what you have heard. You should go through their website and also check their team and everything necessary that you will check to confirm that they are legit. Lastly, you shouldn't let greed push you into making a mistake you will end up regretting. As humans, our desires are much, but you can't get all. You should learn to control yourself and not your desires mislead you. That's very important.

I strongly agree with your thought when say greed because all we need we are greed we will easily believe to the not realistic offer and worst we invest more and hoping to earn more because we are being greedy. One more thing is rushing, when you rush your actions and decisions this is the time that you did not think well so you will have a wrong decison.

I once invested in one project because of FOMO. The project is discussed by everyone in the group and every day there will be news that appears. I am still holding and analyzing, then I am interested in investing some of my funds in it. When the token sale is complete, just wait for listing on the exchange. But until now the project has not been listed anywhere and tokens have become junk.

looks like most of the projects I've participated with. Most of them just want quick buck. Even if they are not scam and end up listing on an exchange they will eventually start selling according to their plan. The price will not hold as there are only a few investors left for altcoins and watch only a couple of new projects that have connections and probably a decent product. At this point the right strategy if you invest is to dump on exchange as soon as they get listed. Even listing on Binance doesn't help much anymore. They will see a quick pump and dump and nothing else.

The most reigning form of scamming is not less of ICO/IEO related. Most of them are now come in form of airdrop. They conduct an airdrop and inform the participants to pay a certain amount of ETH as gas fees for the airdrop earnings to be sent. They all end up in nothing but scam.
The best way to avoid being scammed is to check one's greed towards making unrealistic earnings.

I admit greed is the main factor, instead of expecting a 5X refund of what is invested. maybe what the OP is saying is just to anticipate being trapped in being scammed. I think all that is wanted in the crypto community is to erase and fight scammed. So that the scammer's trend is gone.

one more addition to anticipate being trapped in a scammed project. look for projects that have ideas, solutions, and innovations that are new to the public, most of these projects are legitimate or real, even better if crowdfunding events are conducted with the IEO system and this is preferred by investors. so this is most likely a successful project in the future. In my opinion, a scammed project is not much different from a failed or a scam project, and besides, the mindset or ideas of this strange project must be suspected.

Thank you for sharing the experience and advice.
Unfortunately the crypto world is the new far west, there are traps and Indians everywhere, and you don't know who to trust.
So, no matter how many precautions you can take, there is always a component of imponderability that escapes control.

People tend to want instant profits and are also easily carried away. for example when in the past there were still so many lending programs. the result of so many enthusiastic people who dare to take risks can make us affected. I actually already know about risk, but many people are interested in making me also invest. bids and proof of payment are increasingly convincing
I think this is another reason why people get scammed, there was a time when lending coins were the best way to make quick money but I think what really made people rush it so much was the fact that so many people made money from it and they also wanted to get in and grab their own chunk as well, some were trying to be cautions and decided to wait until others has been paid before they invest, not knowing that HYIP robs from Peter to pay Paul and it's when they are getting in that it might all end.

Big scam case that i see, maybe ponzi scheme that famous and then collect a lot of money from people. After that maybe people know when they are too greedy and think about instant way to get money, scammers will take advantage from them.
Because people who join the ponzi scheme or HYIPs only think of ways to get a lot of money quickly without thinking about risks such as scams, so many people complain when they know ponzi or HYIPs are scam. And always be careful invest in crypto
Those ones are responsible for their own predicament because they left other investment option alone to go for Ponzi scheme, if they had even gone for some of these investment that are exit scam, we would have really felt for them, I mean some of the projects that will collect money and then enter exchange only for them to slowly exit, those investors now are very unfortunate, and for their own case, it is really difficult to discern those projects, but it is very easy to know some of these Ponzi scheme.

The moment that a project start telling you exactly amount that you will get at a particular period of time, I think we should already be trying to just exit the project because it is indeed a Ponzi scheme which will not survive the pyramid for long.

I think learning and gaining experience is also important to avoid fraud. Newbies often have no knowledge of what they're about to face, so they are the most vulnerable subjects.

It's the most important. You have to learn to keep distance and be suspicious of every project. Sometimes you need to get hurt first to develop this attitude towards investments and sometimes it's enough to see others get hurt. Let's hope you belong to the second group.

Experience does wonders and you can see it by watching old members of this community. They almost never fall victim to scams byt 50% of newbies do.

Control yourself when you see an offer like 10% return in 10 hours or doubling the money in 24 hours, etc because in reality it is not possible to make that kind of profits so realizing is the first part when someone don't want to get scammed from reality and luring people to scams like these.
Yes, that’s true we only should invest our money in only old projects as old is good having so many trustworthy investor who will never deceive so new investors should be with old ones and never get with new projects without making research. We are in a new era still having a lot of good projects so in short we shouldn't try every new site and stay mostly with old and trustworthy sites.

For me the easiest way not to get scammed is to control your greed and always have second thought on all all that is being presented to you, when we cannot control our greed, we tend to forget advised that we get about investing, all we are thinking is the profit that we are going to get if we invest right away, I have experienced this on so many occasions on so many coins, because of the hype and forget to always have second thought.

Many of these that you mentioned are generally emotion-based decisions. Greed is basically an emotional tendency. It is not rational to be greedy. Falling for HYIP and FOMO are also emotional mistakes. If you stick to the objective assessments of the various indicators you will not give in to FOMO and HYIP. If the charts are saying that the bull run is almost done and it could correct anytime, you don't buy. But others are too emotional to be left behind even if there is no reason for it.

cryptoqurrency related to risk, be it investment, trade, or other things that cover about crypto are always at risk. it's just that if you have knowledge that is rarely possessed by others in this field, always be careful before making a decision and avoid if you find a suspicious project. at least it can reduce your money loss.
