Heard about it in2010 started mining a few nonths ago
Same week then I discovered the punyness of Nvidia.
About 3-6 months, it wasn't easy building my first rigs and getting the used Radeon cards.
Within a couple weeks, it took a lot of reading to convince me.

I started mining after 1 year after learning about bitcoin.
But it didn't last long, as the difficulty rose preeetty quickly.
But at times I still try. Tried... Never said it worked :v
Around 2 years, saw a thread in another forum but ignored it, it wasn't until a site wanted paying in btc that I looked into it.
24 hours lol But i went straight into LTC. I had been working a job ay 60 hours a week for 3 years. Within 3 months of changing jobs found out about bitcoin spent one night researching and was mining the next day. 3 months ago now

About the same for me, I hear about Bitcoin in 2011 but I didnt hear about it again until this year
