There is a chance for the wallet to be hack that's the reason why there are wallets who are popular because and it is because of their security level so we should always ask reliable people on what coin holder we should use before investing.

But bitcoin and exchanges is different maybe an exchanges is not safe to store your bitcoin because they were many cases that it can hacked by someone who has a bad intention of getting it.
