(maybe they're affiliated with some altcoin that they believe it could profit with Bitcoin's decline?)

gmaxwell the devs 'boss' (CTO) works for blockstream which have an agenda and their own platform.
Gmaxwell loves Monero.

gmaxwells wage comes from AXA and DCG, which DCG owns coindesk and many other services. and also zcash.

DCG and blockstream is also involved with the bankers hyperledger.

also another blockstream employee, who invented FIBRE (ringfensing blockstream nodes around the bitcoin pools as the top of the network topology) (termed upstream filters). is now working with 'chaincode' to create hyperledgers 'fabric'

I need to remind everyone that Bitcoin is not about having the best possible tech in my opinion.
There will always better coins out there, more sophisticated and with better parameters.
First and foremost Bitcoin is an economic system - that is something that newly created altcoins might never achieve,
because they are born with sole purpose of making their creators rich. Furthermore ICO concept weakened altcoin scene.

I get your point, but I don't entirely agree... If the coin resulted in a viable and working economic system, then it employs the best tech available for the purpose to which it was created. Sometimes "best possible" isn't a synonym for "most advanced" Smiley Other coins with better parameters is questionable.

Yesterday's best tech needs an urgent (scale) upgrade now...

its scripts
other script words to watch for contain
"conservative"
"ad-hom"
"BUCoin"

many people repeating the same thing=brainwashing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVv2AOCnaA

you start to spot the obvious script readers
and the funny scripts from blockstreamer
"BU causing a fork will damage bitcoin" .... later, same people.... "BU should fork off"

its like they dont even understand what they are saying it. and just saying it for some competition or some prize

So it seems. Looks like when mainstream media outlets share dubious news and facts about Bitcoin and generally spreading that it only serves illegal purposes, sad to see similar tactics being employed to push the fear of a deadly fork... Sad to see Bitcoin users spreading this, they only lose by doing so (maybe they're affiliated with some altcoin that they believe it could profit with Bitcoin's decline?)

which are the only reason bitcoin continues being as solid as ever

really?
OMG
i know you love gmaxwell.. just buy him a wedding ring already.

P.S
if you think bitcoin cannot survive without gmaxwell.. then you have no clue what bitcoin really is

devs can come and go...
if you think bitcoin should be controlled by only a couple devs and 100 spell checkers... then its you admitting you want centralisation and human control.
go play with fiat and kiss IMF ceo's ass

I'm not getting it, where is this "BTU" coming from? Second time I see it on the forums today... Not sure if I should do a report to have this moved to the alt-coin section...

People are taking this way too far. Unfortunately it's starting to sound like people want a "little Bitcoin" to play with to see if they can do as well or better as early Bitcoin adopters in a way shorter amount of time and then just have the coins converted to their fiat currency of preference. Articles overseeing every detail that can occur in case of a fork (that creates an altcoin or a pseudo altcoin, or "BTU", or whatever anyone wants to call it) aren't encouraging and not an incentive to move forward.

PS: Bitcoin does NOT scale to mainstream levels on-chain, overnight
FTFY

but taking rational user adoption over natural time period of years/decades.

but then squashing it into a fake rhetoric of what users will do overnight. to over sell the need for commercialised hubs... is the OP's failure and the failure of the script writer the OP follows.

stopping natural progressive growth over time, using "gigabytes by midnight" and "visa capacity by 11pm" are stupid and illogical reasons to proclaim as justifications to halt onchain growth.

whats next amputate your kids before they are 6 months old due to fear of statistics that your offspring may run into a car sometime befor he is 40. thus no legs=no running=problem solved?

whats next go back in time to 1996 and tell activision to not ever progress on making Call of Duty games in the future because 1996 tech cant handle the need for a 1mb internet and 60gb hard drives because 1996 only has dialup and 4gb hard drives...

I still <3 u Satoshi
Core is poison, and so are you.

How much did you pay for that account, Roger?

My name is Dustin Freeman. I've been involved with Bitcoin since early 2012 after hearing about it on HARD[OCP], and subsequently reading Satoshi's white paper.

I did not doubt that Bitcoin would be success until Core's abrupt about-face on that white paper. But Core does not control Bitcoin, as much as they would like you to believe.

Check the edit. The fact that you shilled for XT actually pisses me off. You are calling out Core devs (which are the only reason bitcoin continues being as solid as ever) while you shilled the disgrace called XT, with some fucking moron that wanted to be the "beneavolent dictator", someone that was clearly anti privacy:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-xt-fork-can-blacklist-tor-exits-may-reveal-users-ip-addresses

and someone that dumps the coins then ragequits to crash the market latter, then goes to work in R3cev, and R3cev is a failure, then bitcoin breaks the ATH months later. LOSER lol.

Mature.

Or are you sad enough to come back years after shilling XT and seeing it fail?

Good. I've got my node up and running. If you're reading this and run a node, you should as well.

to quote Mike:

Quote
[Core devs] believe that the only mechanism that Bitcoin has to keep them in check should never be used.

Myself and many other early adopters and developers went down this rabbit hole because we wanted to support a world changing technology that takes power from the elite few and puts it back in our hands. The Bitcoin Core project is no longer aligning with these ideals.

Lol, what a fucking moron. Just a loser like Mike Hernia. You wanted him to be your benevolent dictator, now you want Jihan Wu to tell you how bitcoin works.

You are all a cancer to bitcoin, and bitcoin keeps getting rid of you.

Core team continues doing an amazing job with every release, no one with a functional brain will stay in BU.

BTU will get dumped, miners will either kill themselves or go back to Core in case of a split (betraying the delusional idiots that still don't get BU doesn't work).
This, or BU itself being a coding disaster will put the nail in the coffin.

Unfortunately, it will be inevitable that Bitcoin gets a massive hit and goes back several years, but Roger may become ver-y poor in the process if he isn't frauding and really dumps BTC to buy more BTE or whatever tag the altcoin will have.

Facts remain: Core devs are the better coders, BU will not get anywhere long term without them. Hopefully, people involved are reasonable and don't keep pushing towards this abyss, or they will learn the hard way (im talking about the idiots delusional enough to believe in BU lies, not the ones that are doing this in purpose to try to stop bitcoin).

PS: Bitcoin does NOT scale to mainstream levels on-chain, get this through your skulls already you dumb big blockers.
