How about investing your bitcoin in a crypto casino.

you can check his journey, GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT

A member of the forum sharing his journey investing his bitcoin in different gambling sites, and so far, he is doing better as he is both profitable in BTC and USD value.  Just try to check it out, maybe you'll be interested, and I don't think you'll gamble on a site you've invested, that's doesn't look good.
i also following that thread because @yatsan is doing better in his Journey in gambling investments that is running for almost 2 months now.
He is doing better now because bitcoin was bullish, he started investing last April 12 this year, and bitcoin that time closed at USD 6,971.09, while the current price is already over $10,000... that alone would already result a decent profit.

I do not think that you need additional self-control, because in this case you will lose all the fun. You need to find a way to build your coins in a safe way.
Yes, such a path can be slower, but the main thing in it is that the number of coins will increase and there will be more and more, as you want.
It is important to realize that in the event of gambling you risk reducing your volumes, which is unacceptable.
I think Op is a Gambler thats why he wanted to try His journey here in crypto gambling instead in Trading or Holding.

Trying reading back the OP, he is a gambler but he can't control the urge to gamble when he has the coins in his wallet.
He needs to learn how to control that, and that has been his problem.

I lose and win, and I don't care for the money I deposit for gambling.
This is your own way bro, in this thread, OP wants to stay away from gambling, also I'm sure he will don't care with his money on gambling anymore.

If you wish to win you need to try, without trying you don't have chances for nothing.
Sure, Everything will be like this, anyone must try for anything he wants in his life and then will become the targets, working for it, try to do anything possible to know the results. of course in gambling, a gambler must try to bet higher to test his winning possibilities.

I think faucets really is the reason I tried gambling in the first place. Its kind of a win already when you gamble with the coins you got from faucets. You can earn without even spending from your own money.

Exactly, I have experience about this before, why I say this. In the past, I can make 2.000 Doge from faucet earning (100 Doge). In a few minutes, I lose them all. Because I think if from 100 Doge, I can make 2.000, I will have a "chance (the trap begin)" to get more, if I'm betting 1.000. This the first time I bet with the deposit money. What happens, I try to make a deposit 5.000 Doge and lose them all without winning, LOL Roll Eyes

And congrats to you have already stopped to play a gambling, if you believe yourself, you can do it for a long time. Good luck bro  Smiley
Many gamblers began their journey that way, they used faucets at the beginning since they thought this was an easy way to gamble without spending any money but as they kept gambling and their desire for it grew they could no longer get enough satisfaction by just using the money they got from faucets and they decide at that moment to begin to use their own money, and then as they begin losing they now have the desire to get the money they lost creating a vicious cycle from which it is difficult to escape.

If you gamble with pennies you will win pennies! 1 in a million make a lot of money from a small bet (lottery, or some crazy betting combination, some slots and huge payouts). South Park you are right about one thing,
after tasting higher stakes betting it's not a trill to play with small stakes! Simple explanation behind that, more risk equal more excitement. In my country they say "Mother didn't cry because her son is a gambler, she cried because he was trying to win back what he lost!" I lose and win, and I don't care for the money I deposit for gambling. If you wish to win you need to try, without trying you don't have chances for nothing. And money is just the money in the end, you can always earn money and for sure money will be spent on something, be adult and responsible about your decisions, do what you wish to do and don't regret your actions later!

I do not have such an issue. I buy an amount of cryptocurrency every month for my gambling habit. At the moment I have stopped doing that as I do not feel like gambling because of the present virus situation.

I do not gamble with cryptocurrency that I have kept for long term HODL or for trading. I keep them seperately till date I have not mixed it up as I maintain a seperate excel file for both of them.
Most gamblers do not see the point of doing something like that but in fact it is critical, it is important to have our funds separated depending on the use we plan to give to them, this is something even professional gamblers have to do in order to not spend money they need to pay for their bills in the case they find themselves on a bad streak, if you can maintain that discipline over a long period of time not only you will keep the capital you have destined to be used as an investment you will also control any urges you may have to gamble compulsively.

You man a cap that when you lose all these say lose about 1BTC a month you stop gambling and then after a month you will once again have a budget of 1BTC. We don't see that everyday. I would only regret betting the coins I have spent if I see the sum of them all in the spreadsheet. I'd rather not and forget the ones that drained.

A huge sadness he will get if he list his all losses on spreadsheet so much better if he just keep the record off since this thing will cause another harm or depression, If we want to stay away on gambling then better for us to not visit any gambling sites since if we continuously do this for sure we will forget the urge to gamble anymore and we can focus on other things especially for investments.

Well Faucet is really good source of capital in gambling but OP is asking how to stay away from gambling and not how to earn without capital thats another story.

Gambling is such another thing that we need to play while there are sites that offers us to invest in them so you don't need to play to earn(but of course there are risk as well)

Sometimes I feel that our whole life is gambling. As for me I trust only Bitcoin, I read about altcoins some years ago, but decided not to invest in it.
what?Man at least read the whole thread before putting your out of topic post, what you mean is investing in bitcoin but no connection in gambling discussion .

If you aren't profitable after spending alot of time betting then you'll need to look for something else to spend your time and money on.
And, most importantly also avoid gambling faucets that can lure you to do gambling again.

I already stop for months now, I just need to prioritize things that is really needed specially during this lockdown. But even before I'm gambling I stayed for a few years in crypto without even trying gambling. I think faucets really is the reason I tried gambling in the first place. Its kind of a win already when you gamble with the coins you got from faucets. You can earn without even spending from your own money.

So I agree with avoiding faucets, its kind of a trap. However, its true that some players doesn't even need faucets to gamble. If you are one of those, you should prioritize and focus on your goal when it comes to crypto. If its investing then research on how you can fully utilize aspects in investing. Don't even think of trying gambling. Don't click adds, avoid reading about those too good to be true ads. Try thinking of gambling as a trap that will make you lose your cryptos and will make all your handwork vanished in a few clicks.

I've been around the crypto scene since pre 2013 pump. Been around blackcoin pumps, pinkcoin pumps (all the color coin pumps), all the country-coin pumps (remember those?), every shitcoin known to man.

I even knew about ethereum (commented on page 4 or 5 on their announcement thread) and was a huge believer in the project. .....but instead of sending btc to their ICO site on a summer day in 2014, I sent it to nitrogen sports with the intention of making more btc to send to their ICO.

Throughout the years, I've done similar things with various alts: Monero, dark-coin (DASH), Cardano, you name it. I had them with hopes of holding onto them to watch their value grow...but couldn't...and gambled it away with 3AM challenger tennis, random soccer matches, or baseball over/unders (though, when I go on a binge, I actually start off pretty damn well, but get tilted the moment I lose a few times).

I'm a big believer in the crypto space but it's difficult for me to hold coins without gambling. The thing is, I have no issue controlling myself when I don't hold crypto. I could go to a casino or wherever and not have any urge to bet with fiat. Idk what it is about cryptocurrency. I just get so into certain coins that I want to make more so that I can get a bigger stack to hodl...but then by trying to get more the quick way, I lose it all.

Anyone feel similar?

How do you combat the urge to gamble with your cryptocurrency?

In my experience being a cryptocurrency investor and poker player, I had experienced the ups and downs of being a cryptocurrency gambler in gambling sites but my rule of the thumb is simple and very basic - only allot a certain percentage for gambling and always save your winnings for the losing days. I don't spend my crypto in a buying frenzy whenever I win big in some game. I put my winnings and calculate what I had lost versus what I have profited. So I end up not really losing but always have the money to spend and end up winning more and profiting more. If you treat gambling like a business then it is not hard to accept loss since you already have calculated everything.

That is way easier said than done, on the surface the only thing a person needs to do in order to stop losing their money at the casinos is to stop playing and do something else with their time and with their money, but if you take to time to read the experiences of the members of the forum you will see that is very difficult and this is especially even more true now that there are not a lot of things that you can do and you cannot even see your family as you used to.

You are right. It's easy to say things that need to be done but hard to do it in actual.

Even the simple term of "stop doing gambling" is not an easy thing to do especially for those who still have extra funds even with the pandemic virus.

Being a responsible person really does have a long process.

If the people used to gamble everyday for the stop words will be ignore since in the end of the day once they bored for sure they will comeback again, for sure we experience this and we always regret with the result after the game that we should not gamble for that day.

I can't insert being responsible since when you are addicted gambler provably it needs a lot of efforts to achieve what you really ask since all is long process.
I agree with you but by chance cryptocurrencies offer several magic features. Like private keys, multisig wallets and time-locked transactions... So if you really aren't able to restrain you from spending your cryptos in gambling, you can use those features to help you for that.

It's easy, just don't gamble and control yourself, don't let your gambling addiction or urge within you affect your investment as we are talking about your possible future success here. With gambling, you can mess up your investment like withdrawing your money when it's not yet suppose to withdraw it.

if you feel you don't have the capacity to gamble, just never expose yourself in a gambling sites, maybe delete all your gambling accounts, you'll be safer that way.

Sometimes I feel that our whole life is gambling. As for me I trust only Bitcoin, I read about altcoins some years ago, but decided not to invest in it.

Somehow, I agree with you. Our life is full of gambling. Once we make a decision, we don't know what is the result until we do that. But we can prevent the big risk that might impact us. That will be the same thing if we apply it on gambling. As long as we can know how to minimize the risk, which we can limit our money to be used in gambling, we can reduce the risk of losing big money. Related to investing in cryptocurrency, if we can invest in the right coin, and we can accept the fluctuating of bitcoin price, I think that will not be the same as gambling because bitcoin price will have the time to increase. However, after the price increase, the price can decrease.
