Man i wish there were more big buyers like the OP in the UK.

I have 15K GBP worth of BTC I'm desperate to get rid of and i can't hold of either of my regular buyers.

You can buy Bitcoin BTC and pay with Money Gram or Western Union from WMXchange.net. Check our website or to make an order follow this link: http://www.wmxchange.net/buy-e-currency.php.

Gox is the only exchange which can deal with that volume normally. There are issues with public exchanges however.

With research, you should be able to find a P2P private seller , and face to face meeting (make suitable pre-meeting checks etc..) will be best.

If I wanted to buy $100 000 worth of bitcoins, I'd probably use an exchange and I would split the money into seveal seperate transactions.

There's also the recently reopened Tradehill exchange, catering for those with meaningful money (and excludes paupers).

I have several friends who want to buy amounts between 10k and 200k.  Some of them are in the southern California, and some of them are in Malta.  What are the current best ways to buy large amounts?  What is going on with MtGox?  How fast will they be able to buy on gox with the current AML hold up?  Does that just affect withdrawls, or deposits and trading too?

As I understand it, you can still deposit and trade BTC on Mt Gox without being verified. You are just limited in the daily withdrawals you can make.
There is a 50k USD limit.
Anyway, I would trust mtgox more than a person to person meetup for 100k.

why? just carry a gun and dont let him leave until 6 confirmations?

I would not trust Mtgox's rate if you are a bulk buyer. The best way to do the exchange is person to person in a public place, I wouldn't trust anyone with anything near $100K online.

Bitcoins are online. Gotta trust that $100K online sometime.

Agreed.  For $100k, the travel costs are definitely worth the peace of mind.
