Just remove the email from this account then create a new one. Think that should work but why is it imperative you keep the email?

Thanks a lot I will try it out - however since I have earned a little credit with this ID and moreover is a little old also, so wanted to keep it, but anyways since am a newbie with this ID so would not effect much
My email is linked to my website

I am planning to launch a new kind of bitcoin FAUCET, so in order to have all my visitors and members who would like to post reviews and ideas or problems in BCT can quote me with my website name ID in BCT

My browser went abeshit about that link, full of mallware I belive, what kinda funny business are you up to?

Hi Scam alert

There is some problem
My site link that I posted is not the one that you see, my site is dot com and not dot org
I see that when I am posting my site with a dot com extension it is by default changing into a dot org domain in this thread
There is some problem in the forum, might be some bug, my website is malware free

Pls check my site www dot fr33bitcoin dot com

Can anyone please let me know on how can I change my DISPLAY NAME
I want to change my display name to something else

Do I have to send an email request to someone from this forum if so which email should I reply to ?

If you donate 10 BTC (which pays for about a month of hosting), you get donator status and you can change title name Smiley
let's rock bro !!!

This option will be nice when people trade accounts, maybe they want to personalize it as they want, but one thing will be good to have username history. btw 10BTC is to much for now i think;
Nope, the price of 10 BTC is set since 2011, at that point price of BTC is still low. So that time people need to donate 10/50 BTC to get the corresponding rank. And the amount remains the same because to be fair to the early donors and to appreciate their early adoption, as being one of the first users of bitcoin.

You can work hard and make a great contribution to the community. Then one day can you perhaps become staff, they are (afaik) allowed to change their name.

Yes, Mitchell[1] was bitcoininformation before he became staff.

[1] with those two polish "l"'s
Yes he is. There is another person quoting his post when he was 'bitcoininformation', see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2079213
However when we quote his post now, it will become 'Mitchełł' now.
So if OP changed his name and our old quotes will be the evidence that OP was 'joyjeet' Smiley

afaik you still have to log in with your orignal user name. It is only the actual display name that is changed. So "joyjeet" would always have to log in as joyjeet, but his display name could be something like TheNewAndBetterJoyjeet.

Thanks for the reply

I just checked it says I have to donate 10 btc for donator and 50 btc for vip member, well to be frank those are huge for me as of now
So wanted to knw if I close my account and make a new account with the same email id as used in this account - in that case I can make a new account with a new display name and keep my email id same.

How is that possible pls guide

Well, some vips back then had btc worth less than 10 bucks. At that time, it was easily worth trading 10 bitcoins or 50. Back in 2010, you could buy over 1k bitcoins for a dollar.

Back then 10 btc used to pay for a month of hosting (as per the thread linked). Now it should be about 0.1 to 0.5.. Im assuming hosting for this forum works out to be $100 per month. Correct me if I'm wrong.
By https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html, Private Internet Access, which is stated at the bottom of the forum, is providing free hosting to the forum. So donating BTC for hosting is meaningless now...

@joyjeet you are just a newbie, so making a new account won't make a difference, and there is no need for a newbie to donate 10-50 BTC just for changing the username.
However, if you just wanted to change the small letters to captial letters (like JoyJeet), you can try your luck here by requesting admin/moderator here to change that (better including a small donation).

I thought this option use to be available to anyone to change and then once changed not allowed to change it again and would have to make a new account or donate in order to have this feature working??
