This are the basic promise of those scam ICO, BUt that are just speculation.

Obviously any project that promises you any of these are either scam or dangerous investments plans managed by desperate developers

1. Huge ROI in short period of term
2. Risk free investments
3. Assurance of what to come
4. Big exchanges listing like binance

I have promoted projects that pretends to have listing plan on big exchanges just to make people promote the project and make investors invest too
Desperate developers and scammers are also in a haste in their actions and reactions. This can be seen very well in their whitepaper which presents lots of typos because there wasn't much time to go over for review. Whitepaper looks very concise. These desperate developers tend to ban members who ask lots of questions regarding the progress of the project from their telegram group.

Yes, these points are just about right. Many projects display unrealistic, unachievable goals that make no sense whatsoever and they try their best to deceive people and investors into looting their money.
It is better to read that whitepaper thoroughly and look in the background of the project as to see any flaws in the project.

The most effective way of spoting scam projects is limited awareness creation, i meant real projects cares less about the awareness and belief more in action, scam projects will always find a way to attract you to invest in their project, beware of such projects, mind you they are every where

I agree with this, most common desperate developers always bragging about the Huge ROI they can give to investors or sometimes they promised buyback plan just to let the investors think they can guaranteed profit. And the best thing if the project is scam, if they are claiming they have partnerships with big exchanges and they always said the name. That was against NDA from exchanges and that was never gonna happen. The exchange must announce the listing first before the project.

Let me add fake developer teams and copy and paste code for the coin network. Don't believe the bullshit that clone networks are better than the original. It spells lack of coding skills, it is a dead end project.
You are right, that's why i favour fresh or brand new projects, we have too many copycat projects now and also many repetitive projects that always claim to surpass the old one but its always a complete waste of time

Most of the faults OP is talking about is not 100% scammers doing, sometimes its all on the teams themselves, they are either too lazy to keep up or they have no good experience about how to lead on,instead they put promises first infront of actions

I think when you noticed that they are offering too much like what you said they will offer big exchanges listing like binance. Imagine if they will going to offer you a very good coin that will a good exchange ,you think this is possible?  Always remember that every project is also a business their goal is to earn profit not a charity project

They are so desperate that they copy other people's whitepaper and uses fake profiles to make it appear they have experts in their fields, they are good at making a hype in their projects to the extent that they are giving excessive promises some of which are not attainable.
I never believed in any project that promises they are the next big thing on the internet.

You can't detect any project that will be listed on top exchange like Binance before ICO finished or  confirm IEO declare. I don't detect any project by exchange because after long time good coin will be listed in Binance exchange.

Another good way to understand the true motives of the project team is just to get to know and chat with each member of the team individually. It is also necessary to communicate with the project advisers, which are presented on the project website. Often from such communication you can understand the real project or not, but for this you need to have an analytical mindset, be able to compare facts and draw conclusions.
It is important to learn to understand the truth which the people you come in contact with are telling you. you can contact the team members in the early stages and they will be open and tell you everything but actually think how to steal your money

First of all, you need to carefully study the team members. There have already been many projects in which fake team members and fake photos - this already indicates fraud.

That is one tactic of many fraudulent projects. One should at least search the authenticity of team members and if they are using fake profiles, the likelihood that they will scam you is very high. Also, if they are working as anonymous project, what the OP presented is more than enough to doubt the intentions of the project. We can always see a high ROI project enticing investors. But how could they calculate your investment returns when they haven't even been listed in exchanges? Only naive people will believe their marketing propaganda, yet many people fall from this trap.

that's true but the problem is that most developers are like that these days. they are always promising high returns because they is what they are looking for themselves. they want to make a ton of money by releasing their garbage and if a bunch of lies could get more investors to fill their pocket more, then they would say anything you wanted to hear.

They just easily lure newbies by some of these promises. I was once a victim. It had already happened to me before I discovered it was all lies. I just had to learn my lessons in a hard way.  Some of them still do the same. Although, I do not like a project without foresight, but not to the extent of deceiving people with vague promises.

Projects who don't have real skills in developing their on ideas but instead using those already been created and promise of enhancement and updates, logically there's no sense of paying attentions to this types of developers, they don't have any thing to offer than to keep giving improvements which can
be easily done by the original ideas of the true developers, avoiding those people can lessen your chance losing your money it's best not to entertain than being sorry after.

The most popular moves from scammer developers is ponzi in the name of Prove of Staking, they start paying POS rewards from investors money to participants until no one is investing in the project anymore and once they noticed this they will exit scam straight up or stop paying POS rewards and put the blame on something else

Yes you hit it all right, these are the signs of projects run by scammers but there are also legit projects that have all these features on their roadmap, and every developer wants to have everything good in their project.
Scammers are good in imitating what good developers are doing, sometimes these scammers are going to the extent of copying their whitepaper
and their concept, but investors are wiser now, they know how to differentiate from their past experiences.
