Suppose if there are a number of ICOs started for different coins by anonymous developers then how can we find that which one the legit ICO and which one is scam ICO?
You can't. Which is why ICOs are worse than gambling.

Find one with trusted escrow. A big community, and milestones to release the raised BTC. Every other way you are risking it big time a I have many times..

I'll definitely look for existing project not empty promise where they can run when the dev received the funds, some of the legit ico I invested are BASH and Victoriouscoin, victoriouscoin is implementing an Ics and they have ready projects while holding their interactive coin sales.

It is very difficult, when you invest in ico you really bet like a blind man, never trust 100% the developer words, because so many of us got scammed, checking the site also is not going to increase your trust level, so i believe it is better to stay away from ico, eventhough sometimes the profit is huge but the risk is very big

Invest on ICO is such as placing a bet for some card on the board. You don't know which card is good but gamble on it is really interesting.
You can't predict which ICO will success on the progress, but support they coin will make a +1 for development.

It is just simple. Just avoid anonymous devs. Satoshi nakamoto tactics will not gonna work right now because scammer already aware and doing it. It impossible now for an ICO with anonymous devs to become successful. People have a natural greediness within us. So instead of choosing legit ICO with anon devs, just choose the safe project

It is not possible to predict that Ico is successful until the final phase of the project, every thing looks like genuine but when they din't reach their definitely it will be bad ICO. Don't consider ICO without any escrow, escrow should be their so that escrow will hold you money until they need to finish those which are listed in RoadMaps.

Hey you better look at annoncement thread. I saw this ICO and looks very promising. Take a look at this ANN thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/taskie-tskfreelanceblogingmicrojobsrevenue-sharing-new-ico-soon-1738600. They got 3 escrows and these 3 escrows are highly trusted escrows in this forum(yahoo62278, Lauda, Miner jones). This is good for you since you are finding legit ico.

The first thing to do is are the faces of the developers visible and what is their antecedent in crypto space
Second, how visible is the technology or idea they are proposing
Third, A trusted Escrow must be used
Fourth, invest only after the project get traction.

All these are not guarantee but will help to help your decision making

when you ask the developers for information about themselves or the project and they won't be open, that is a sign of a scam

You can check http://icocountdown.com and http://coininterview.com

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOu5mkF_NczLQzICINvzr9w

The first is a website that shows all ICO's and does due diligence, the second is an interview site where we interview the developers.

You can have an assurance that an ICO will be legit enough. It is like or even more than gambling just like what bathrobehero said. Just look at their road map if they are planning to make their coin for a long term use then go for it. Read their ANN thread and together read the people's comment , that is important.

Buy ICO coins.. if you profit then it's legit otherwise it's a scam.
It has nothing to do with how they work so don't pay any attention to that FUD.

Like the other guy stated, we can't since we didn't know what will be the final phase of the project. But there are factors we can check to minimize our worries and the associated risk which some are; having an  active devs, funds being escrowed and continous development.

Investing in ICO is really a risky investment but if we will take the brighter side of the picture it will be profitable. So it's really worth to try than to try other risky investment out there.
