To put it simply, the lottery works like this:
- buy a ticket
- wait for the draw to end
- look for your ticket number in the list of "lucky ones"
- if you're lucky, then wait for payment from the organizer and go pay taxes on your winnings.

Yes m2017 you are right about it but from most of the options and post here it shows that there entry are so much big in a way I can't afford it, though was only looking for about 40-50$ tickets where I can only make used of weekly budget and anything above my target could be very hard for to spend. Therefore, it's good to always gamble within my weekly my budget to maintain a safe gambling practice, even though I would have to buy tickets it's good that way to spend what I can afford to risk while involving myself with lottery entry.

Same with our place as well. We do have different lottery outlets that are spread all over the city. Am I correct in assuming that you think the entry fee is $659,189? if so, that is not the entry fee, in that particular game you can buy entry tickets for $10 for ten entries, $50 for 55 entries, $150 for 175 entries, $500 for 600 entries and $1k for 1250 entries. also, the price of that game will be divided among 100 winners where the number 1 picked will be rewarded with 50% of the total pool and the rest with their respective percentage according to the number they are picked(at least that is how I understand it).

Well, I'm one of them, and I only bet $10. I think it's for one of two reasons: either MW offered a starting pot before anyone had even bought a ticket (you have to think they have a huge user base and handle a lot of money) or we have some whales that have bought in the hundreds of thousands. Or maybe a mixture of both.
