Cuz these people are 'theoretical scientists', Their work is all based around theories, not action Tongue And if I remember correctly this is the 5th post I have seen on the same topic of 'earning merit'.

But its similar to a homeless person telling people how to become millionaires..

Or a friend who gives relationship advice who never has been in a relationship. Compare them however you like But they are Geniuses Tongue

Well, we can't blame people trying hard and hoping just to get even a single merit and rank up but this OP was obviously attempting to get smerit by creating a thread post and advice people. Why you should not apply on your side to gain a smerit?

@ OP, mate just forget merit system for a while instead of chasing smerit try to have a good post and try your best to contribute a good quality post that giving good information to others, then probably without knowing you someone putting merit on your post.

OP, if I were you now much better lock this thread and do what I say then probably you got smerit.

8 merits= Newbie  Huh
That is indeed without a doubt... the reaction of a certain individual who wasn't informed by the news.

(JetAid was an alt of JetCash... with his kind of posting it wasn't questionable if he has that Merit.)

Another worthless guide hoping to get a merit, he might have just explained how to make a quality post yet his own post is without substance. You are basically not worthy to write your own guide of making quality posts as you haven't earned even a single merit yet. I think making a quality post should come with no explanation as people should instead learn how to master the English grammar as people who post trash often have bad grammar leading to their post not having any kind of point.

I would like to propose to slowly start to lock these kind of threads... These are just for gathering a few merits for the OP, nothing special extra information or value has been added... all those advices are available in earlier posts in connection with the merit system. We should start cleaning Meta now, it's just exploded in the last days... (understandable Smiley )

   - Add Valuable Post
    - Add tutorial, that can help multiple people
    - Add comment which will be add value in that post
    - Spend proper time and read others valuable post
    - Answer question with true information
then why don't you get merit until now? I am not sure of the advice you gave. but wait a minute, or have you never done that yourself?
you should already have lots of merit if you really do that.  Undecided

Prior to the changes in the rules, the main spam was in Altcoins.
Now a huge number of forum members write posts in all boards of the forum in the hope of getting a merits.
Administrators will have to spend a lot of time to clean up the forum.
I hope the result will justify the action.

I don't think he wants people to go out of their way to just try get merit, but he wants the quality of content to improve. There's still a long way to go and I still think it's going to take more than just one merit to achieve that.

Yes there is long way to go but I Think lot more new people will post with this new rules. Some people just read but not post much.due to these new rules they also will start to post good post..

Well i just want to say this. Look, in a high quality post there is something called novelty. It does not mean that your post must has 100% novelty but at least it is not something that is always repeated by newbie or Jr. Member who come to this Meta Section. This kind of post is already made by a lot of newbies and Jr. Member, even since the original merit system introduced back in January, and people are already bored of this

With this new system I think lost more new people will be active than past.

Yes Agree with your comment. But I think this is what theymos want to do, new members need to post high quality post to earn their 1 st merit. Not just posting or replying just for bounty campaign.I think new system shows it's importance by this post, actually this is clearly an attempt to get merit himself but he understood he want to create(quality) post. and past I saw many merit rewarded posts like this post. so I don't think he is a dabbler, just let him to grow with new system.

I still can not define what the novelty you say on the post is appreciated because it seems to be just a fleeting feeling when you read something and depending on your mood at that moment, if your mood is good, of course the article will be great even if it has been repeated many times, you will give him merit. If not, I sincerely apologize, you will say your post is too bad and you will be meticulously searching for the wrong error, you do not deserve merit, you should try harder instead of writing meaningless things

2. You must read forum rules A to Z

I think you should take your own advice and read the rules, specifically the one about double posting.

Why do people with 0 merit have so much advice to give about earning merits?

Because they now desperately need that one merit and hope they get it from giving such advice.

This is clearly an attempt to gain merit yourself, which I hope other users see through before awarding you merit.

[...  Redundant and annoying quotes removed]
Thank you for your comment

Well here is a comment. Please stop including full quotes. It doen't help you to get merits, quite the reverse in fact, and it could cause merit awarders to leave the thread. This means that any poster that follows you will have a reduced chance of earning merits, regarless of the quality of his post.

Your advices are ok, but now it is time to go from theory to practice: do that yourself and earn merits, instead of opening a post like this in the hope of getting merits. There are already many good posts written about how to get merit.

Thank you for your advice

It is interesting how your post length suddenly spiked after the introduction of the new system. How can you be making posts about how easy it is to rank up from a Newbie to Jr. member when you still have not accomplished it yourself? This is clearly an attempt to gain merit yourself, which I hope other users see through before awarding you merit.

You already said what I wanted to say after reading the title. Anyway, I hope OP does get some merit as he at least did something to educate new members.
