I'm a beginner that should got into the system with the hope of gaining more knowledge about the system to enable me gain from the system. So the little information I got about merit I'm passionate to know the possible way of mining merit to enable me know what mining of merit entails and how possible I can grow my merit by mining.

Honestly, I don't know what to tell you now that will make you understand better about how this merit is being earned in the forum. You have asked this type of question before, and many members have replied to your post by giving you answers on how merit is earned. So, I wonder why you are asking a similar question again, just phrased differently. Maybe it seems you didn't go through the replies given to you on the post.

I want to advise you, and I hope you take this advice: Don't be too eager about earning merits in the forum. If you are, you may find it very difficult to get them, especially as a newbie, because I don't think you have much to contribute to the forum yet. Just try to stay calm and learn well before thinking about merit. When you have proper knowledge and you contribute quality posts continuously, you will be surprised how your posts will start receiving merits from different members. It's all about quality posts, but the truth is that your posts will hardly be of quality when you are still a newbie.

Newbies are not without the drive to rank up.. That first merit (and then continously getting it)... But merit getting is a quest that's just there no matter the rank ( mostly lower ranks that's not always included for a campaign)..
However, I believe the link below can help newbies a lot..

I am also a beginner and there is still a lot to learn on this forum, but when it comes to merit, as far as I know merit cannot be mined, merit is given to someone provided that the post must be of good quality and not contain plagiarism. purely from our own knowledge, and there are many more merits that we can get by taking quizzes that provide merit, in this forum there are lots of threads that hold quizzes like that, as long as we explore as often as possible, and prioritize increasing our knowledge if we wish. To increase our rank faster, All ranks who have reached a high rank here must all start from the bottom as long as we are consistent with what we are currently doing

Unfortunately you can't mine Merit because it's a token, not a coin.
You even found out the merit token as well. Hahaha, now I am confused, that which merit OP is talking about. I think he is talking about the merit system of BTT as lovesmayfamilis has mentioned some of his threads where he asked about merits so, its the merit system of BTT not some merit coin.

I would love to share my ideas with OP of how he can get merits but, for the start, I will say be active in the local thread because local members will support him, and guide him more. And with time he will be getting merits from international members as well. It's just a matter of remaining active and contributing. But keep in mind, sometimes you don't get merits why? I can't tell for sure maybe the thing you are writing, is already written or is too old that nobody is interested to talk about it anymore.

no, you can not mine for merit.
Mining is a technical action, it's brute-forcing a string untill the hash of said string is under a certain value... Merit is a record in bitcointalk's database. The two have nothing in common.
It's like asking if you can grow potatoes to hear some nice music.
I don't know you but I am sure you'll make a good professor. Your explanation is very and perfect. I like the last line though.

Quote
If you want merit, just forget about merit and engage in the community. Learn, make friends, talk, make good posts... Merits will come sooner or later.
This is just how to go about it. The goal shouldn't be about merit but about having a good time here while sharing one's knowledge, making valuable contributions to the discussion going here and basically once again just having a good time without thinking so much about the merits. They'll come.

You can’t mine merit, man. Beside, you are still a newcomer, and as you just said, you want to learn the system and other things very well. That means you should not put your mind in where you will gain merit at this age of your account or your knowledge; you should focus on how you will gain more knowledge about what we are discussing here, which is cryptocurrency's, and after that, if you start bringing up meaningful conversations and educational discussions, merit will come naturally. You won’t have to worry too much about how to gain merit, but once you know how to share knowledgeable contents here, you will definitely be merited.

However, I want you to understand that if you put merit in your front, you won’t get it. I’m telling you this from experience; it happened to me before, so just learn and relearn, and you will earn merit. That is how it works, but nothing like merit mining here. Just focus and learn. Merit will come, even though I know it is hard for beginners when they feel that they are putting too much effort in and still don’t get merit. They feel like giving up. Don’t be like that. If you learn, you will earn merit.

There is no such thing as merit mining. Merits are earned in the forum when you make posts that are of quality. Any member who finds your post helpful, informative or educative will reward your efforts with some merits.

The interesting thing about earning merits is that, if you chase merits you might not get them. If you become too passionate about getting merits, you might end up getting discouraged in the forum or even depressed if these merits do not come as you expected them. Erase the thoughts of getting merits from your head and devote your time more to blessing the forum with good and quality posts. Merits will come when you least expected them. Do not forget to study how the forum works, it will help you grow.

Merits are not gain through mining, they are reward to your quality posts and contributions to the forum.

On this your post , you asked questions on how to get merits in which you are lucky to gain your first two merits from the thread, and when going through your post, you ask about the minimum posts required to earn merits which was completely explained to you through several replies and good numbers of useful links that will help you understand more has been provided to.
Go back and read your previous post replies, you will get answer to your question.

Merit mining 🙄🙄 although the name sounds cool but sadly there is no way you can mine merit well if except by mining merit you mean earning them then yes it's possible to earn merits and the only way is to do it the old fashioned way by making good contributions and engaging actively in the forum by providing viable information.

OP I hope you read all the comments given by other members, and it will be of great help to you.
As a beginner you have already earned 2 merits from the thread you created and Merit cannot be mined,
it is points given by other members as a form of reward for threads or posts that are useful or deserve merit.

I've been in this forum for quite some time, you just need to be yourself with an open mind and accept all the advice of others.
Respond to every comment and provide quite useful input.

You can also create a thread that has never been discussed, either technically or non-technically,
but if it is a technical thread, then you must have the capacity to explain in detail and correctly according to your language.

OP, the two merits you earned, did you mine them? Was it not given through the post you made here, making you have one smerit you can send out to any member of the forum who made a quality post you like.

For you to understand that merits are earned or mined, you can start by sending your one smerit to someone you like their reply under your post made here. Thanks in advance, if you can take up that first step of sending your smerit

OP, do you have memory lapses? There are already two topics dedicated to merit that you have opened. Is this not enough to understand what and how to do to get merit? With your "curiosity,"  I can say that merit will pass you by. Because you don’t try to understand something for yourself but create a bunch of identical topics and don’t learn anything from user advice.
Maybe no one was taking how serious he needed merits so those multiple threads all saying the same thing was his way of showing it.

No, there were plenty of answers. Please note that the two merits received were for creating a topic about merits. Two kind people took pity on him, and thereby he received merit. Now it's like the "Pavlov's dog experiment." What happened once will be repeated in the hope of the same result (no offense to the OP for the comparison).  But unfortunately, beginners often resort to such tricks.

By the way, do you know many newbies who don’t need merit today? But they don't write about it so openly. Smiley

Granted, it may seem as if it's hard getting merits to your posts but I don't think being desperate will do anything for your case, rather being consistent by posting helpful content. Instead of focusing on how to 'mine' merits, why not take your mind off of being in a haste to rank up so you can enjoy your time here.

Grin

Quoting them to see previous questions about merit from OP.
Greeting everyone. I was newly introduced into the system by a friend who made me to have so much interest in the system with the zeal and the passion to learn and gain adequate experience on the system but one of the major problem I'm having now is that I'm not well clarify of what merit entails and as such I will be very grateful if any good minded person can kindly throw more light on that to enable me understand in details and also benefit from the system.

I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned. However, looking at it in another perspective, I don't know if it is because I did not meet the number of my post require to earn a merit or because of the low quality of my post that is the reason why I had not been able to earn a single merit. So please I will like to get more clarifications on the possible requirement for earning merit.

With your "curiosity,"  I can say that merit will pass you by. Because you don’t try to understand something for yourself but create a bunch of identical topics and don’t learn anything from user advice.
From April to July, no actual initiative for learning and only ask nearly same question again. Probability of receiving merit for such boring curious questions is very small and repeat it many times does not increase chance because "quality over quantity"
If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. It's quality over quantity.

Unfortunately you can't mine Merit because it's a token, not a coin.
The problem here is that we don't even know if the OP is talking about the forum merit system since he stated that he/she has learned little about merit and wants to earn it now, and if it's the forum merit system, it was already explained in the first comment that he can't get the merit through minning as it has nothing to do with mining.

And if it's also a token or coin, we have more than just one merit token, so it will be hard for one to even know which one the Op is talking about unless he or she comes and gives more information about what he is actually talking about.

Merit is not mined but earned as a reward for making useful contributions to the forum in a way that other members enjoy. Earning merit here is easy and also not easy depending on your activity here and how you approach it, being new to forum my advice for you is to take your mind off of it and focus on learning and improving your knowledge because only when you are knowledgeable can you contribute to the community and increase your chances of earning merits when a member see your posts worthy.

If you neglect the learning process it will be difficult for you to earn any merit but if you want to increase your chances of any one then you should seek for knowledge first. Spending more time reading instead of posting will benefit you more and also asking questions about what you don’t understand will increase your knowledge as well. Do not be in a rush to increase your rank and tou will be surprised how fast you will grow in knowledge.

This is a bitcoin forum you should be more concerned about growing your knowledge about bitcoin. Here is a link below where you can start learning about bitcoin.

Do not think that I am trying to degrade you in any way but when I saw the topic headline it made me LOL! Grin Grin. The forum is about Bitcoin and it was created as a discussion. board for Bitcoin but it was never meant to mine merits. Good to see you have an inquisitive mind and want to know the rules and regulations of the forum. I think most have been replied to. If you think all your questions have been addressed then please go ahead and lock this topic.

Instead of asking more valuable questions that can help you learn. Here you are asking on how you can earn merits.

Maybe focus on other things like learnings a lot of information about crypto since once you became a good contributor on the discussions then provably that there are people would give you a merit if they would agree on the words or information's posted.

For now learn to locate those thread posted by our fellow forum users.

Since from that you can start to learn about first things you need to consider as a newbie.
