The first advice that you must bet with a reasonable amount -not too high and not too low- because you should manage your risk.
Plus you have to avoid gambling everyday in every sport, you should only bet in sport or games that you are passioned about.

Yeah you are on the money about emotions being the downfall of gamblers. I have seen too manye xamples of emotions getting in the way of people's judgement and they lose all concept of what it means to play smart. They usually end up losing everything.

Even gambling that is not entirely based on luck, if you have the mindset of trying to win back what has been lost you are likely to make mistakes that will make you loose your bets also and so for me i will urge all to totally abandon the idea of trying to recoup what you've lost in gambling and play with a cool head like you have no past.

That is because you can't stick with it. Discipline at the limit you've made means you can stop after reaching the limit. If you're shaky, you're undisciplined at your limit then you'll end up with an addiction. You do not need to consider anything else because that's all you have to do.

When we are already on the situation where we are profiting already this is the time would be the hardest phase on controlling yourself because your confidence have been boosted up and if you do set limits on earlier time before on playing it would really be neglected in the middle because you would decide to proceed to play even more and would forget on the things you do set out.
