Thank you for your response...truer words. I did work with an electrician, but we got the plug wrong! Being a noob is hard, but doesn't last forever. Aside from gpu home mining for many years now, I've had s9s and s15s hosted, but now working on bringing asics home. It's a challenge!

I found email the answer is no.

Let me try to explain what happens to me.

The email account you sent to is 23 years old. It gets 250 emails a day on a slow day. If I go back just to July 10 it is 27 pages back.

So you sent it on the 11th> I read it and did not want to answer it yet.

I think the price for the gear is too high.
I do not like the seller.
I did a few deals with him they always have a glitch.
They work out but always with an issue or a scare.

Could not agree more, I do feel bad for not replying to some PMs I get (despite the fact that I try and do respond to most of them), but people should understand that we have many things aside from the forum to attend to, also, it is always in everybody's best interest that all questions remain public (unless there is a very private aspect you need to hide), I don't mind answering a question sent via PM, but it would be a lot better answering it publicly so that other folks that have the same question could potentially find it in one of the search engines they use.

Always remember it (mining) is kind of like a long highway trip.

Yeah you can max the car to 100-120 mph but cruising at 70mph is far more likely to not make a wreck on 1000 mile trip

Of if not in USA maxing the car at 180KPH for 1500 kilometer drive is not as safe as driving it on cruise at 110KPH

OMG, meltdown. I had a small meltdown incident with risers on a gpu rig. Nothing dangerous, but it was complicated and annoying to repair. Hopefully I have learned my lesson.

I didn't even consider running three rigs with two on low power, very clever!

adapters add 1 more set of fail points.

remember you will be doing 3200 + 1700 = 4900 watts 24/7/365

or if you run the 2 s15 on low and 1 s19

950+950+3200 = 5100 watts

those are under rated limits but close so the less connections the better off you are.

And the pdu has multiple circuit breakers inside of it for safety sake.

I have like 14 of those pdus all used from ebay

as cheap as 35 and as much as 70 depends on how hot mining profit is.

I do like them. They have help prevent burn ups.

notice a guy set up a farm with adapters to sockets not pdus. look at last photo adapters to sockets

the pdus I showed would very likely not let that happen. (95% sure of that)

you need to either replace the socket on the wall or the plug on the pdu.

I would show the electrician the ebay items and the pdu plug when it comes.

it is not that he did bad work but 240 sockets vary and it is a simple mismatch he can fix.

I like the locking plug and socket a lot not the one he did. Basically the pdus fit and they do not come loose.

yes it is derated to 24amps for safety.

24/30 = 80%

running a 30 amp circuit does not mean

30 x 240= 7200 watts

it means

24 x 240 = 5760 watts.

Which seems to be familiar.

you mentioned it in your first post.

dont know how you got the number but it is the true rating for 24/7/365 use of a 240 volt circuit.

you should have enough juice to spare on you gear.

unless you run closer to 220 volts

that would be 24 x 220 = 5280:which is still a little more than what is needed for your gear.

More or less what Phil said. The reasoning behind it is: As a rule a PDU is designed to be running 24/7/365 at full power in data centers / equipment racks. But they do not smooth out the power. The cords you are showing will work but they are more for temporary use and not for 100% power all the time.

With that being said, they will work. But with the amount of power you will be putting through them do you really want to risk damage to your equipment or an electrical fire to save a few dollars?
