I come back to this topic with one more update. Since imgur.com is not recommended anymore for uploading images on the forum, I presented a step-by-step solution for doing this using ImbGG website.

As a plus, after the issues with imgur, joker_josue developed a website dedicated to the forum for uploading images -- TalkImg. Feel free to use this website as well.

I added all this information to OP.

Some newbies don't know how to resize an image when posting on the forum,  well, here we go.

[img height=400]https://****. Jnp[/img
                        Or
[img width= 400]https//****.jpg[/img

All you need to do is increase the number or decrease the number,  to find the most suited size for your images.

Some websites support image upload and export bbcode link.

Thank you for your contribution, UchihaSarada.

Why do you limit this with imgur.com and imgur.io only?

First of all, I did not limit the topic to imgur (be it .com or .io). If you look just at the post above yours, you will see this:

Besides, an alternative site is ImgBB. Pictures upload is possible from there as well, by following the steps 1. - 6. from OP.

Needless to say, this website appears also in OP.

However, I mostly focused this thread around imgur as, back then (and even now, I guess), it was one of most popular sites for image uploading. I also know the other alternatives you presented (https://giphy.com, https://postimages.org, https://epvpimg.com), yet have in mind that this topic is mostly oriented to users sort of new to the forum and not to les conaisseurs.

You know all these sites and it's good for you. But if a Jr. Member will perform a Google search for "How to upload pics on BitcoinTalk" and finds a thread containing plenty of websites, all being thoroughly explained, this may lead to the opposite way -- of confusing the user. This is the reason for which I mostly kept this topic as the basics of the basics regarding image upload subject. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, in order to be easy to be understood by many users and to not determine "Tl; dr" reactions Smiley

I come back to this topic, as I observed that imgur.com does not allow uploading pictures from mobile phones anymore. Even before it was not so easy, meaning that, in order to upload a picture from mobile, you had to select to see the page in Desktop mode, but now this workaround does not work anymore. I found though another way for being able to upload pictures on imgur: by accessing the .io version of the site (www.imgur.io) and selecting to see the page in Desktop mode, it's still possible to upload pictures from mobile phones.

I hope this help.

I updated OP with something which I discovered recently -- a way to make posting pictures on the forum even easier than before. This solution eliminates steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 (yes, all these steps! Smiley). I found an "Imgur uploader" website which does all these steps: https://img.doerig.dev.

Simply access https://img.doerig.dev and upload a file:

Then select Copy link. The generated link is already in the "i.imgur." form, simplyfying things:

Of course, the generated link has to be inserted in your post between [ img ] and [/img] brackets, as described above. All in all, the process is way easier now.

I don't take loans, ask for sig if I ever do.
4. After the image has been uploaded successfully, the next step is to find the bbforum link available at the top right of the image.
For those who can't find the link, Press the three dots after the Copy button, go to Shareable links, then copy the BBCode(forum) link:

No need for the additional typing, though the comment of adjusting Image Height and Width may be needed at times depending on the image itself.

For example: Your image in the OP became stretched horizontally because the height didn't matched the ratio of the original width & height.
use this instead: [img width=640]yourimagelink.jpg[/img]

Thank you for the tip! I'm sure everyone will benefit from all these advices.
I updated the pictures from the OP as you suggested Smiley

I used for these images width 640 and height 480. Any sugestion for the height as well?
Make sure to use the smaller resolution with the original aspect ratio.

Or just set the width and don't indicate the height, this way, it'll automatically adjust the correct image aspect ratio based from the width.
But do not do it vice versa (do not set the height and no width), it'll look horrible on mobile with low-resolution
(it will stretch to fill the indicated height while using the device's small width).

For example: Your image in the OP became stretched horizontally because the height didn't matched the ratio of the original width & height.
use this instead: [img width=640]yourimagelink.jpg[/img]

You can literally right click the image and select “Copy URL of the image”. You don’t need to “inspect elements” and grab the link from the source code. lol

this method works for many websites, and in you dont have account on imgur and want copy any picture for forums this method will help

No, it depends on your desire and your picture but you must maintain the image quality at least to be clear. Resizing an image will usually make the image become corrupt or unclear.

I often use imgur.com to make images as links so they could be displayed on the bitcointalk.org forum.
The steps are almost the same / maybe the same as what you do.
1. Minimum Junior Member.
2. Prepare the image to be uploaded.
3. Open the site imgur.com and click on the upload photo section.
4. After the image has been uploaded successfully, the next step is to find the bbforum link available at the top right of the image.
5. Paste the image link in the bitcointalk.org forum post that you want.

Suggestions, use this code to make the image display in the forum better to look at.
Code:
[img width=400]insert your image url[/img]

On my Windows PC, i use an Open source tool that simplifies everything. It's called sharex. All i have to do is take a screenshot, edit it if necessary and then click on the OK button.
The image gets posted to imgur and any other image hosting website of your choice depending on your preference settings. The image link is automatically copied to the clipboard which you can just past in the forum  Wink

Thank you for the tip, khaled0111. Indeed, it is possible also with the BB Code. But, as you saw already, there are already several forms of links and the newbies might get confused by all of them. That was why I suggested to get the i.imgur link via "Copy image location".

Regarding the thread mentioned by Findingnemo, I saw it as well, but it doesn't explain the trick regarding imgur vs i.imgur. That's why I tried to offer the solution for posting from imgur Smiley

You can simply click the three horizontal dots on top right of the image, next to "copy link", then click "get share link" then copy the "BBCode (forums)" link. You can paste it into your post without adding the img tag.

After obtaining the "i.imgur" link, type it here in the following form: [ img ] i.imgur link [/img] (without any space between the characters).
another tip: you can insert codes inside code tags. This way, you don't have to add spaces to make the code appear properly:
Code:
[img]i.imgur link [/img]
