i think having tokens in 1 lesser-used main wallet is a viable idea. metamask seems to be a good interface for interacting with the eth chain for my daily use (low-value) wallet too.

People who cant afford a hardware wallet, the best thing they can do is to store there private keys on a piece of paper. Just take a print out on a paper of your paper wallet and dont store it anywhere online.

Not even on  a notepad file on your computer.

Now, other suggestions I can give is that if you are technically sound, move from windows to linux or mac, it reduces your chances of getting infected with a malware by a big margin.

Eventually, when you can go and buy a hardware wallet, its worth every penny.
It really is hard when it comes to staying safe without exposing ones private keys. But even if we say, lets copy out the keys and write them down, one may not be too careful or too fortunate to avoid some errors in missing one or more letters from the private key. The thing is, have a device which you don't use to access the internet or log in to any website, use it solely for storing your essential details such as private keys and other password logins.

I am currently combining mew with metamask and imtoken as security measures for my wallet but I believe only an offline wallet like ledger may be the safest means of protecting funds

I think that the most effective method is the fact that people are now more attentive, but even this does not save people, because the most important thing is not to rush and look around. It is your inattentively calculated hackers.

I think you just need to use your wallet accurately and do not enter data on questionable sites and this will in most cases save you

The advice here is to keep your fund in two part. Use cold wallet and hot wallet. Hot wallet is where you keep fund that you will be spending while cold wallet is where you do not access in short to medium time. Cold wallet is where you keep your coin for future!

One of the realest things in the crypto market is Hackers, this is a group of people who will not sleep until they find out or device ways in which they steal your valuables from you, they are not only making the crypto market unsafe but are also driving potential investors away, However with proper caution, one can caution themselves against such situation by employing the us of meta mask, which  prevents direct access to the wallet making it impossible for the hackers to pick the passwords, There are also hardware wallets which tries to guarantee the safety of the coins off line out of the hackers's reach, the safety of our investment should be the first priority  and should be taken seriously

is very good, but in terms of securing my crypto assets by using an application that can monitor the assets, so anything that happens about my assets in the wallet I can monitor directly without having to access the related sites, so avoid pishing or other scams.

The best way to do that is to invest some money and buy a hardware wallet like trezor or nano ledger and you are going to be fine. If you don't want to buy hardware wallet, you can use metamask or you can bookmark mew and use the bookmark everytime you want to access mew to prevent phising site, also recheck the url before sending anything.

in my opinion, the way to protect our wallet is actually more to our self awereness, because the most important thing is we do not carelessly enter our private key on website or exchange that is not trusted, and also never open anonym email, usually it will end to phishing site

there are several recommendations for protecting cryptotices. Try to follow them: this will reduce the risk of breaking your wallet. for example, do not register on the exchange under your real postal address: better create a new one, so it will be easier. use a separate device for operations with crypto currency. interact with trusted and eminent exchanges. create a backup copy of your wallet, and do not share information about your wallet on public sites and forums. if you have a large amount, keep it on several purses.

Best way to protect our money from hacker is using hard wallet such as ledger or trezor. But its not cheap. Its cost around $60.00

So for beginner we can use metamask in our google chrome to protect it. It can protect us for entering phising website. Its important to us not to join anyting (ex : airdrop) which use our private key as requirement. And also a project that have link directly to the wallet. Always open our wallet directly from new tab, or we can bookmark it.

I'm pretty sure that if a hacker decides to crack your wallet there is no defense that help you except hardware wallet. Plus I recommend to keep your capital in different wallets. If you have a small amount in your wallet, then hackers will not have a desire to crack your wallet at all.

Don't you ever share your private keys or never store it in your own PC. Keep it somewhere safe and don't use it everytime, I suggest for you to use JSON file, the one that is being downloaded from Myetherwallet.com. With that you can prevent any keylogging activities if there are spywares on your PC, if you want to be fully confident for your holdings to not be hacked. I suggest you use some kind of TREZOR, those are for high security purposes. Without it no one can access your wallet, just don't lose it or else bye bye holdings.

If you are using ethereum based wallets like myetherwallet, you must keep your private key secured and be sure not to commit any mistake in copying and pasting. Because others commit mistake instead of pasting eth address, they pasted their private keys in filling up google forms.
