All you need is just to simply educate yourself.
Crypto is a place where the risk is high due to the lack of regulation, and if you are following the trend, a lot of people complain they lose money but most of them are newbies who enter into the market thinking that making money is very easy, but they were wrong because they got scam instead.

With continues education, I don't think we will fall for a scam, we will even know how to protect ourselves or our accounts from these scammers.

As long as we know they exist, we will know what measures we will do.

I think that's the thing most people forget about or at least isn't educated about. I think the most important factor that affects scamming is the fact that people is lacking knowledge in computers, cyber security, internet, and most importantly investment as ignorants still think that there is free money in the internet.

I think the timing also the reason for them to fall for it.

People are in oandemic and some of them are in desperate need to earn some cash. Another thing is the people themselves. One of those account hacked is MrBeast who do crazy things online. He's a YouTuber and actually flaunts his wealthiness on the internet. He gives huge donations to streamers, do crazy challenges with crazy prices and other stuffs.

Him posting this is kind of his thing so the timing really hit people off to fall for this scam.

With such desperation and with legit and well known personalities that being hacked
people really fall and being victimized.
This incident really brings the attentions of those followers, thinking that it was a genuine
acts since this virus is really hitting everyone.
No doubts that despite of hardship there are still people who are desperate and wanting
to take the risk.
Not thinking that well, the hackers simply runaway with the money together with the hope
from those victims of this scam giveaways.

Whats more is that most of these accounts are with 2FA authenticator which really gives security to its users.

I am following this article since. It would really be obvious to people if they knew that a lot of accounts are actually posting the same posts and posting the same bitcoin address. The hacker left his bitcoin address which is said to still have some transactions happening.

Once a man, twice a child!
There are legit free (without capital investment) bitcoin giveaways even on twitter but it's not like the "send me btc and I'll double it" scheme by scammers. The giveaways I'm referring to are competitions like meme, creating songs or other forms.
If a giveaway requires you to do something before you can claim it, then it becomes a task. The real giveaways are run like charities. Again, those who fell for the hackers attics are themselves greedy beings who merely gambled away their hard earned Bitcoin (well, maybe not hard earned after all). Easy come, easy go, states the maxim.

In all of that twitter hack incidence, my take home (from experience) is that a bull run is about to begin for Bitcoin and the entire crypto industry. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and watch will happen in the following weeks.

Deception in the guise of Bitcoin is spreading. The most recent and most extensive case is through hacking of a number of famous celebrity Twitter accounts on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Hackers offer a Bitcoin giveaway from those accounts. So, what are some ways to protect yourself from this mode of crime?

The perpetrators may launch social-based attacks (social engineering) against Twitter employees. Hackers access Twitter's internal systems and devices, and thus successfully tweet the Bitcoin giveaway.
For example the Kanye West account which was also hacked. The famous US musician is "tweeting" he will duplicate the Bitcoin sent to his Bitcoin address. With common logic, it is unlikely that anyone would give free money in the form of Bitcoin, without any veiled intentions.

No one will give you free money, not even Bill Gates. If it sounds too sweet, then it's certainly not true, especially in cyberspace.
I hear this and also read that some big names in twitter was hack, sadly some of are bite this hacking tweet on twitter. And because of that you can see are still greedy and biting like that says that they doubler your money in instant...C'mon open our eyes and be vigilant to a fraud like that.

There are some basic but useful rules when it comes to scam. If it's too good to be true, it's not true. So yeah, any kind of 'give us 30, get 300' is a scam. Another rule is to ensure your money is protected (from hacking). This includes strong passwords, regular antivirus checks of the devices you're using, storing private key in a safe place, using only reputable services with good reviews. And the last but not least is related to ensuring that when you're sending money, you're sending it to the right address. So I avoid QR-codes because there's a lot of scam with them and because it's impossible to check if it's the right one. And there's also malware that changes the copied address to a different one when you paste it, so checking at least the beginning, the middle and the end of the address is a must (some malware is clever enough to make the beginning the same as in the original address). Taking all of this into account, it's still important to understand that there is still a chance of getting hacked, but reducing the risks is worth it.

Simple. Don't be ignorant and be knowledgeable.

Many are saying blah blah blah regarding this topic but the problem is that investors can easily fall into this kind of traps because they are ignorant. Come to think of it, how sure you are that this famous celebrities will make a Bitcoin giveaway. Yes it came from their own twitter account but if you are not dumb, you will realize that they will not do things like that.

Unfortunately, there are some ignorant investors out there who can fall easily into this kind of common ways of scamming people. These way of scamming them is very common already yet many are still falling from it. Can't blame though but being ignorant will lead you to being scammed. Anyway, you will not learn if you will not experience so better to experience it first Cheesy.

Frauds are everywhere, they exists even offline but since we are in the online world it is inevitable process that many fall for that mischief acts and many people grab that easy quick money giveaways or double scheme just what happened in the latest incident that involved many famous accounts were hacked and were used to scam people in the internet specifically on twitter crypto community. It's best always stay vigilant not to engage quickly on bogus giveaways and always asked second opinion to some friends that knows more about it. Importantly educate always on things that are not familiar and always not to click suspicious links.

It's very simple to avoid such as giveaway scam attempts just by using your common sense here. If any celebrity like Elon Musk wants to distribute some money among crypto users, then he will never ask for sent money to him. Probably he would ask you just for your address. When he will ask to send money to him, then you should realize there something fishy going on which would lead you to scam. You should be smarter and should aware that there isn't something like a money-making machine, so no one will able to give you a double return. Greedy behavior should avoid always especially when it's been related to online activity. Just remember, don't hand over your money to others.

There are so many people all around the world who want to make money easily. This kind of person fall in that kind of problems. They easily believe in free giveaway. Because they have not enough knowledge. Fraud people target that type of people who have not enough knowledge about Bitcoin. Then the fraud tell them give me some Bitcoin i will double it or etc bla bla. Finally i can tell that you need to acquire enough knowledge about Bitcoin if you want to protect yourself from fraudulent Bitcoin giving.

It's already suspicious if they would ask you to send money first before you can receive money or if they will promise you to double that money.

That's obviously a scam, if someone tells you to do that. I guarantee you, that's a scam. It is not that easy to trust those offers as it is risky to send money to someone first. There's no such thing like that where they will multiply your money without even earning for themselves.

Scammers will always be there that's why it's important to educate others or those people around you about this kind of tricks because not everything they will see on the internet is real. Even those big and famous accounts from celebrities since they are prone to hacking.

But what if there's no one to inform them? People should not always rely on other individual to become enlightened about those scams.

Also hacking is not always a person's mistakes or problem. Usually, it is the platform that lacks security that's why hackers can enter those high profile accounts.

This kind of scheme (the bolded part) is too obvious, but sadly there are lots of people falling victim to this.  Greed sure knows how to make people lose their reasonings.

The only way to protect yourself from this is to use your head,

Should we headbutt them or what?

has anyone ever offered you to double your money for free on the real world and actually done so without issue? If the answer is no, then why would anyone expect this to happen on line and be a legit offer, it simple doesn't make a lot of sense.

People's greed dictates the mind and make it senseful.  That is why those who wanted to earn more in a short duration of time often  fall for scams.

Now, some may argue that when they saw the social media accounts of those famous and rich people do this they thought it was a legitimate offer but I am going to be very direct, you do not get to have so much money by giving it away without any restriction to people you do not know and in that case it is very unlikely the real owners were behind the messages and anyone using some common sense should have realized that within the first 5 seconds of seeing those messages.

Greed numbs people's mind.  Whatever we say, it all goes down to uncontrolled greed. So we better control our greed and don't ever let it control us.

One thing that could protect you from all the possible frauds and scams you would face? Then it would be;

COMMON SENSE!

If you do have this then you will surely able to realize directly that you've been dealing with some scam attempts. If you do have the common sense on why the
hell they do give out money but you do need to send up some first then you will surely directly have suspicion but if you arent that greedy type of person.

I don't request loans~
Well, there are still people out there who offer legit free money, just look at how Twitter has a lot of people asking for retweets and likes cause they provide free money giveaways.  I have to admit that sending money to gain more money, especially on a social media is quite suspicious, hell, 9/10 I'd doubt it and look it up first and foremost. Still, I suppose I can't blame those that got scammed 100%? I mean, we all had that point in life where we were quite ignorant of something. Especially if you were just hodling Bitcoin and don't really know jack sht about its history. If it were someone who was with BTC since 2017 or so, the twitter post would have probably sent warning signs with the way it was set up.

It's very basic intelligence level you require to save youself from such type of scams! No special education is needed here! Just think - why would someone give you free money?? Why would anyone want you to get rich by downloading some software??

That's it!! Problem solved!! I feel pity for those who doesn't understand such basics of life!

You just need to be reminded that:

1. If something is given for free, you have to doubt it.
2. If something or someone is asking for BTC, you have to doubt it.
3. If something or someone is offering a too-good-to-be-true ROI, you have to doubt it.

Always doubt everything especially online. And when you doubt over something, you withhold further action until and unless the doubt is resolved.
