I agree with some opinions that bitcoin shouldn't just be stored.
By its nature, it is primarily money.
And money must be spent / invested in order to multiply.

I am more the saving-person than spending-person as well. If I have something valuable I will keep it, and I never sell
just to buy some meaningless things that I don't really need. I rather spend cash and keep Bitcoin, one of the things
is crypto-currencies, I am more for buying Bitcoins and crypto-currencies, holding them for the future, for now I don't have

During this period of quarantine, I prefer to spend digital money from PayPal to buy things like steam games and vouchers. I haven't thought about spending the cryptocurrency that I have because the bitcoin market is doing well so I thought to hold onto it. After I read the @OP article I thought that bitcoin spending was a common thing, so it didn't have the appeal of being the best thread for me. I guess bitcoin at this moment is not really meant for spending or shopping online even if it is a digital currency in my opinion Bitcoin is just for investment at this moment.
Since the market price is so volatile you could easily make a profit as the market go pump and dump at some point, Surely bitcoin is a digital currency but as it is not yet adopted around the world the market price is just so high be a currency to be used or spend online. For me, it is better to use it to make profit by spending it at this moment.
During quarantine. I spent 0.5 bitcoins. I live in Singapore. We have many places where you can pay with Bitcoin. Even a taxi. One late evening I realized that I already had an old TV and laptop. So I bought a TV with my 0.5 bitcoins and a brand new laptop. I also paid a couple of times for pizza and sushi. I also have some bitcoins left and I spent them on a taxi when I went to my girlfriend. Therefore, I am very happy that my quarantine went like this.
It is really good for you as you are getting benefits from it. Like you, many people are using bitcoin as their payment methods daily.

There are a lot of way to spend bitcoin if you have. You can purchase from online store, buy ticket from travel agency, gift card and you can exchange bitcoin into your local currency. 
We can't really spend bitcoin here in our country that easy since there are a lot of people that still don't know what it is. If we really wanted to use it though, we can buy some shoppee or lazada points out of a local exchange using that bitcoin. It might not be the same as you people using bitcoin directly but, well, I am also using it.
