I think that main mission of cryptocurrency later is a coin which get used to pay quickly and widely that don't have any national barriers with lowest fee, and Bitcoin is also among them. So we can use it to pay for anything that we want
This is the purpose of crypto that we can use or spend it online. Not just a store of money in our wallet we have also choose to spend it. Well it depends on us on how we manage our asset in crypto. Op have the choice and for sure he has some for hold and long term investment.

I cannot find any real reason why you should spend your bitcoins in order to shop online.
In my opinion, Bitcoin has a bigger value than the one right now so it is not worthy spending them for shopping. It is better to keep them in your wallet and consider it as your investment. If you want to buy something online use a stablecoin...

Its quiet sad you see Bitcoin as investment rather than a digital currency for transaction of goods and services. Bitcoin was never meant to be an investment coin, but rather a digital currency like fiat currencies. But its quiet unfortunate that Bitcoin is seen as an investment entity rather than a digital currency.

Op in the Quarantine better to save some money for the future.
In the Quarantine time you should not spend lot of money just only to pass the time. You can play online games, watch movies if you feel like bored.
If you have more money to keep then it's better to donate some to the needy person right now who are jobless.
Yes you can spend the Bitcoins in various ways but please we should do that whenever it is necessary in this pandemic situation.

agree with you, if indeed Op feels bored with quarantine you have to fill other activities by playing online games or looking for entertainment to watch movies. and if Op feels that he has a lot of money saved in cryptocurrency (Bitcoin), it's better to use it to do social activities by giving donations to people who really need it during this pandemic

Hi Y’all,

I don't know how about you guys but I'm really bored being quarantined in my flat. So I did the “Best” thing possible. I started to shop online. I had some bitcoins left so I decided to spend them as well.

And it turned out that was an adventure in itself.  Roll Eyes

So I compiled my favorite options of spending bitcoins in an article, which I managed to publish on Paybis.

In case you are interested, you can check it out here: https://paybis.com/blog/how-to-spend-bitcoin/

I’d like to turn this post the best one on the topic, so I’d appreciate some
recommendations as to what other spending methods I should add.

Thanks and see you around after this quarantine ends!

Hey BitcoinYu,

I know the feeling. You got some really nice suggestions there. Personally, the gaming factor is strong here, so I wouldn't mind using some for online games and casinos.

By the way, I have a nice suggestion for you from a colleague of mine. You can have a look here: https://cryptomaniaks.com/latest-cryptocurrency-news/where-can-i-spend-bitcoin

I would love to help you out with turning this post into the best one on the topic.  Smiley

Thanks

Don't spend your all bitcoins in a one time. You should hold few bitcoin for your future.

Most of the people who are involve here find bitcoin as assets for investment, people who
involve themselves around loves holding for future value.

You can spend bitcoin for anywhere  in online shop and other place. Still, I hold my few balance for future and spend my Bitcoin and Ethereum for my necessary.

You can spend bitcoin online, there are many stores who already adopting the system and
start using bitcoin as payment process.

There are some ways how to spend bitcoin, example is you can trade or mine for it.

For trading

When you trade cryptocurrencies with IG, you are speculating on whether your chosen market will rise or fall in value, without ever taking ownership of the digital asset. This is done by using derivative products suForch as CFDs.

For mining

In contrast to buying cryptocurrencies, mining Bitcoin involves smaller fees (if you decide to join a pool) and the transactions are usually faster. With Bitcoin mining, you can save from deposit and withdrawal fees, as well as from transfer and trading fees. You may either join a pool or try your luck. To increase your chances of earning Bitcoin, you may consider joining a pool. A single pool combines the hash power of all miners involved in order to increase the chances of solving a block. Once the reward has been sent, the amount will be split according to the hash rate that you have contributed to the pool.

Coinmarketcap and coingecko is the best site we can visit to know the ups and downs of the price of any crypto currency and we can know how to spend Bitcoin wisely on a right way and a right time because if we use Bitcoin and spend it while it is in the low value and the bullrun comes, we are not going to earn in holding it so it is better if we check the coingecko or coinmarketcap every time we want to spend Bitcoin. There are also different features in those sites that we can compute the price of any crypto currency.

Spending bitcoin should be more complex and worth it. You should not waste every amount of your bitcoin in your wallet and as soon as possible study the market. You should always keep in mind that good decision making is essential in bitcoin transactions and also in every market situation.

Bank accounts are no longer necessary. No discrimination.  Cool
No, even if you can legally spend bitcoin anywhere and anytime, you still need to have a bank account to refill balance your bitcoin balance in wallet. So far I have not found a way how someone can buy bitcoin on the exchange or a bitcoin atm without a bank account.

Banks are still a safe place for your fiat, although you have separate wallet from your bitcoin, you still need it. Bank accounts are still reliable for some other transactions where you need to refill your balance if you want to. It is better to have two wallets with a different type of currency so that you will not have a problem if you buy bitcoin on exchange.

If you want to spend your bitcoins, you can sell them to those in need. You can post for sale on Bitcoin forums. However, with the ongoing epidemic, the price of bitcoins will not be high. Do you accept sell loss or not? I think you can keep hoarding to wait for the opportunity. Your quarantine at your apartment does not affect your bitcoin exchange much. Because you only need a computer or a smartphone that can handle everything.

Let's just say some of us just want to increase the global usage of bitcoin as a peer-to-peer payment currency. Imagine if every single one of us is just holding bitcoin without spending it from time to time. Pretty much expect every single online store/service to stop accepting bitcoin payments. What happens to adoption then?
Very well said mate. I don't understand why people discourage others to use bitcoins to shop online.
Bitcoin was created to be used as a payment method and not to store it as store of value.
Your point is absolutely right that if everybody starts  holding bitcoin then no store will accept bitcoin and the adoption will stop eventually.
People these days don't consider using bitcoin for payments. Instead they use it as an investment.

You can spend bitcoin in many ways. Spending bitcoin is not a problem, the problem is earning bitcoin. You can spend a lot of money shopping online in one day. But I would say the value of Bitcoin will continue to grow every day. One day the whole world will start using bitcoin. So it is better to save something for the future without just spending your bitcoin. You will benefit a lot when the price of Bitcoin doubles or more. So it would be wise to hold some Bitcoin.

That actually was my first thought when I read the OP. You will run out of bitcoin just by paying your bills and buying your basic needs alone. So there's really no prob with spending bitcoin. But if you are one of those crypto users that believe that holding bitcoin will give you profit later on, as much as possible you want to hold your bitcoin as long as you can.

They stopped that and they said it was too risky. That was a big hit. Now the big online market took bitcoin off its site. The logo is not there anymore Sad Why though? They just sell the bitcoin as soon as they get it?

Yes. Most merchants accepting crypto-payments are using an API or exchange service to convert their received bitcoin payment into fiat.

They won't hodl these coins. Those crypto-payments they received are part of their circulated money in their business that cover all the cost of their operations e.g. paying their supplier, the salary of their employees, deliveries, general spendings like site maintenance, office rent, electricity, etc.

Unless these merchants are crypto-enthusiast, then maybe there are few who will do that but I doubt.

I can't access OP shared site; "Error 1020 - This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks."

That’s alright, there are people who are always interested in ways they can spend their Bitcoin and it’s good that you have decided to share. I do see a lot of people here that are looking for ways they can spend their coins, and I usually recommend that they make use of purse.io. And there is this really interesting feature about purse.io that I’ve never noticed until recently when I just went through their website, I think last week.

There is this thing they do, they allow you to make orders for people and after that you can get paid in BTC. Since they are giving you around 15% discount on products you pay for using BTC, you buy that product on discount and then get paid in BTC the full amount. It’s quite cool.

I am getting upset because there are fewer places accepting bitcoins here instead of more. A payment processor used it and therefore anywhere using that payment process supported bitcoin.
They stopped that and they said it was too risky. That was a big hit. Now the big online market took bitcoin off its site. The logo is not there anymore Sad Why though? They just sell the bitcoin as soon as they get it?
One reason was that peoples transactions were not going through. I blame the people for not knowing how to use bitcoin.

This is exactly the opposite way to think when it comes to spending bitcoins.  If no one ever spends their coins, then their use case will only go down, in turn making them less valuable in the long run.  There are plenty of ways you can spend bitcoin and everyone who supports bitcoin should spend theirs in commerce as often as possible.

We need people like you who really think of spending because when people are willing to spend, that will create an adoption.
If you ask me, I think you should spend bitcoin like what you like to do, though not much you can buy online with bitcoin, but you can enjoy online especially if you love gambling, my recommendation is spend it in gambling and have fun.

I don't like gambling and I think it's a waste of time. What other ways to use Bitcoin?
