What about engraving the Public & Private Key into wood or a plate of iron / aluminium?

Yea like the good old days where broken sticks represented net worth of entire countries

 Grin

Seriously Cheesy

But the problem is, that I don't want to give the private key to a company which is engraving materials and buying a laser cutter or something else is too expensive for this purpose...

You could do that yourself or I can personally vouch for two woodworkers in NL, but that's doesn't say alot on this forum...

edit: and another one in France, yes I am woodworker inner circle Smiley

Haha thanks Cheesy

I also found

https://woodwallets.io/

The question just is: what is risk of "fading" of wood?

Something like these solutions might work for your needs:

https://www.cryobit.co/cold-storage-products/cryo-card/

Of if you'd like to craft your own steel wallet step by step:

http://www.instructables.com/id/A-Stainless-Steel-Bitcoin-Wallet/

Here are some other buying options as well:

https://bitkee.com/

Thanks for the sites!

My fear is just that the private key doesn't work anymore after encrypting it (or I lose the password for the BIP encryption).

Would using a laserprinter be better than an inkjet printer? Ink can smudge, laser too but less right?

Hello,

I'm using paper wallets a long time now. But my question now is:

Does anyone have an idea how I can store my paper wallet secure?

Which paper is the best that the wallet data will not fade?

Thanks in advance!
i don't think paper will not make any difference, any normal printer paper will do. it depends more on the printer that you are using. keep the printed paper in a safe place that you keep your documents.
and besides you can cover the paper with plastic which is called lamination.that way it will last forever.

Why not seal it into foil that's transparent? Should protect against moisture and fading.
