This article doesn't talk about bitcoin but it got me thinking how to get kinds interested in bitcoin within the context of appropriate money management lessons. Think of we could teach kinds about it. The growth, the adoption, the inflation and retraction. The allure of the "internet money".

...what other ideas come to mind?
Kids are exposed a lot on computer games, real games/toys and on TV cartoons so the best way to teach kids about bitcoin is through these resources, by making a short film/cartoon, mention more often bitcoin there and including virtual bitcoin as coins in computer games.
That's a great idea that resources can help a lot to make things easier. Cartoon is very much related for kids and it will help them for easily understand bitcoin without getting bored.
I don't think anyone would bother making a cartoon movie just to educate kids because that would not help either, the fact that bitcoins is complicated it should only be taught to matured people and definitely not kids.

Honestly its very hard to teach kids about bitcoin unless if you are a game developer you can make a bitcoin game and just to give this bitcoin game to kids and i think they will earn even a little bit about bitcoin..
Maybe a game is good idea to provide a general idea for kids but I do not think they need to learn exactly about bitcoin.

First of all I'm interested in age of kids whom you wish to tell about bitcoins. If it is a teenager - well, then ok, it would be a nice variant of making money to them, but if it's children garden child -I don't see the reason to teach him or her about bitcoin, it's just wasting of time.
I also agree. Because telling too small kids about bitcoins might make them feel funny about bitcoins.
While if you tell to teenagers then surely a big potential in our future community.

i think you do not need to teach kids about bitcoins, you just need to introduce them to this global virtual gold. the keen ones will learn about them on their own with time. however there are a lot of ways to introduce bitcoins to kids. you can include them in the kids' school syllabus, create some fun learning apps, include them in kid's magazines, encourage parents to tell their kids about it, spread awareness etc.

if you tell a small child with bitcoin game? then they will interpret bitcoin as the game dude. they think that bitcoin is not as currencies or commodities right?

I don't think kids can't grasp basic concepts to understand Bitcoin such as decentralization and a open sourced nature, no to mention p2p protocol.. etc. They can grasp the idea of money itself as a means to get stuff, but beyond that is too difficult to explain. They wouldn't get it, just like they wouldn't get how fractional reserve works, etc.

Depends on how do you present this information to a kid. You can leave out all unnecessary and complicated details; it's enough for a child to know just a very basis.
If the kid is able to understand that fiat currencies are established and controlled by governments as the main store of value, then it'll be easy for him (or her) to understand the fact that some people decided to create their own money, indepented from governments, and empowered them with value too.

I totally agree with you. Almost everything can be explained to a kid, you just need to choose the correct wording.
i really doubt that, bitcoin is a kinda sophisticated technology, and to be honest it might be really hard for a child to understand it how it works and stuff like that

i wouldnt even bother trying to explain everything about bitcoin to kids because in my opinion theres no need to do that, i would just tell them that it is online money like paypal

I guess if you really want a child to get involved with BTC you should let them experiment with it themselves. Don't give them bitcoins. Instead, don't give them allowances for the week and let them earn bitcoins themselves.

I think that's a good solution.
Bitcoins should be easy for them to earn and then only they will get actual interest in bitcoins. See if you can tell them a few PTC sites where they click ads and earn bitcoins, they will surely love it.

one  time  i saw interesting site online, you play simple arcade game and while you play, you also earn bitcoins, so i think introducing them to this site would be good idea, just  i'm not sure if this site still works

and then tell them to never spend bitcoins on dumb things, even if they can do this online, teach them to save bitcoins and tell them to never spend any before thinking twice

For me it's a bad decision if we teach kids about bitcoin for their young age because they didn't deserved that because they deserve playing toys, studying and doing some homeworks rather than spending their time on the front of computer. So if you ask i would rather teach them about the lessons that they discuss in school rather than forcing or teaching them about bitcoin.

Well you have stated you opinion and your point is good, but the question here is how to teach kid, not "is it right or wrong to teach kid about bitcoin"   .  Anyway I believe all mankind have the right to access things in legal way, Kids included.   If you want to teach kids about BITCOIN, you need to be innovative and creative.  You need to make it enjoyable that your kid would have interest on it.  BITCOIN is a technology aside from it being a currency.  And technology should be thought to the kids at young age so they can be use to it and be able to make it their playground when they get old.

This is sensitive topic, like always when we talk about kids. My opinion is clear about this, kids first need to learn how to be good and honest. Kid needs to be old enough to know difference between good and bad. First family and later school and teachers can teach him about anything, and about internet and bitcoins.
I think faucets, and some games are great way for kid to learn about bitcoin, and other alt coins. Explain him how it works, how site owner make money on adds, how to transfer money from one place to other. Teach him about this place, how to smell a scam, how to inform him self about anything before making any action.
I agree with most of you that internet is full with bad things, and in my opinion its better father to show that to kid and to explain him everything about it, then kid to find it alone or with friends. I`m aware that every person in this world is unique, in that order there is different strategies for teaching someone. Find a way to rich kids mind and way to explain to that kid to he understand what you talking about. I think that is most important thing, everything else will come easily.

I think small children do not need to know bitcoin, because young children do not have a logical thinking about money. Without you to tell them what the money will be taught in schools. Because the money and bitcoin I think it's the same. Thank you

I am not sure how to teach kids about Bitcoin but it also going to matter on how old the kid really is. If he is to young I would not suggest it because he or she is not going to understand a thing.
If the kid is around 16 then you could let them watch you doing your thing.

When time will come maybe in different universities bitcoin will be added for learning, maybe even in schools but nowdays at my opinion it's not for kids.

Yeah that is right. Specially now that it is linked to different kind of bad influences. Gambling, pornography and scams, it is almost like every click in here is crucial for a kid. He might turn to something that you dont want if he knows a lot about this currency.

Let them play games for BTC, there are many games like that. They're fun and kids love games.. so they may get interested into btc
Yes give them like 1 million satoshi and ask them to have fun on sites like primedice. They are kids and remember don't put too much pressure on them for earning bitcoins. And if you telling someone aged between 15-20 then tell him how btc works and how to earn it.

I think best way to teach them is to create a wallet for them and ask them to buy some digital goods with bitcoin but I am not sure currently it is good for children to buy bitcoin.
