When I first participated in gambling I was very happy to win the bet. I was inspired to gamble by watching my classmates gamble and win bets. And finally the feelings of winning the bet are different when I bet my money in the first state of gambling. Gambling creates an attraction from within itself that gradually turns into an addiction. After a few days of winning bets I keep increasing my money so that the money doubles very quickly when gambling. But later I gambled and lost all the money which caused me a lot of trouble. I became quite addicted to gambling but later got myself out of that position again. I don't have much experience with gambling but I am not so addicted to gambling anymore I have taken a break from gambling.
It depends on the gambler of course. There are gamblers who started with the primary purpose is earning a profit thru gambling and limiting their self and carefully doing bets even if they are still a new to gambling. Winning on gambling is addicting and we experience that sense of accomplisment if we leave the casino with a profit on hand but yeah that can be addicting. Having your first experience of that win can possibly make you lose control or worst being addicted to it. But yeah experiences are case to case scenario and it's hardly to have a very specific experience for most of us.
My first experience was so bad and frustrating because it made me lose so much and apparently it is not my only money left that's why it makes me frustrated. To be honest, I prefer to use casino games for fun where we can play with small bets for hours on end to entertain ourselves but sometimes I also play dice to wait for a football match to start where I bet on sports betting on the match, so I don't feel bored. I wait for the game to start playing dice, if I'm lucky I'll withdraw the money but if I lose I'll spend the money in any casino game.

Well, I can say that gambling is addictive for me at first and we can see a lot of people gambling, enjoying themselves. But as I've suffered losses, that was the time I realized that I should have not paid attention to this. If I gamble, I already set limitations because the temptation is very close to us. Because the possibility of losing our emotions and the tendency of spending what we have is very possible that is why I encourage myself to get stick to it and never chase winning as this will lead to spending more and the possibility of losing more as well.

Yes, the thing is that we humans are very bad at calculating probabilities in our heads. We're good at things like Newtonian physics (throwing a rock) without calculating anything. But statistics are tricky and not intuitive at all for us.

However, it doesn't feel right if we only relate it to discipline. to me, discipline is just a concept, a concept that we apply to gambling. can also, say it discipline is an idea. with this method, we can manage our gambling to be healthier and to avoid things that smell like addiction. but whatever it is, there's nothing wrong if someone really prefers discipline.
Well, for me the important point is not discipline, but rather understanding and responsibility. by having an understanding of gambling itself, at least we really know and understand the definition of gambling itself for ourselves. You are already greedy when you go for 200 odds but I was surprised how you got lucky on it. If only not because of that 1 game you add, you could have gained a massive profit but that's just it goes sometimes. A lot of us here can relate on your story. I hope you learn your lesson now.
Gambling was something I never wanted to do in my life,I didn't know how to go about it and I wasn't interested in it,until a friend that was very close to me won a huge amount of money,that was when my attention shifted to gambling site,I started gambling everyday,staking with my last card just to make money but I wasn't lucky atall,i gambled to the extend that I couldn't stop it again,I was addicted to it because I wanted to recover my money I have lost while gambling,but it wasn't easy atall,I havent been able to recover my money since my day one of gambling,and I am finding it difficult to stop it.

I remember my first experience in gambling and I was around fifteen (15) years old at that time.
My father and grandfather were notorious in cockfighting. They even constructed a farm solely on raising fighter chickens and they compete on national TV. I remember, my father brought us to this arena/stadium in our country where it was televised. In a cockpit, there were two (2) sides, either you choose A or B. Before the fight begins, lots of people watching on the stage betted against each other choosing either A or B.
During that time, I was confident enough and chose "A" but my father insisted on choosing "B" instead. It was also my birthday at that time and when the fight started, B lost resulting to all of my birthday cash gone!
From that experience, it really traumatized me as a kid which really compelled me to limit my gambling expenses. Whenever I feel like gambling, this core memory kicks-in and reminds me to stop and re-evaluate the situation.

The same goes well for the other people who do not get well in the first game. They say that there's beginner's luck this serves as an instant win that it will courage you to play more gambling, but its not as always happen. instead get more losses, and in your mind could be you want to play more just to get back all of your losses or else want to quit and accept the fact that you lose all of your money but again at the end of the day its all depends on the players perspective and number of asset for their satisfaction and entertainment. If you are just mid-level person have an extra money to play and get entertained and does not have a good cashflow I guess ideal to manage still but if your not and part of the average people ideal to make you fun until you get satisfied.
