I have been on bitcointalk platform for about 2 months now. I have graduated from Newbie
and I am now a Junior Member. In fact i cannot wait to become a member, full member, legendary member etc. My post count increases by day but i have not received a single merit.
1. How can I earn some merits?
2. Do i have to buy them?
I am very particular about this issue because I wanted to take part in a particular signature campaign whose minimum qualification was "MEMBER". I really loved the concept of the campaign and would have loved to take part. Since i did not meet the minimum requirement, I could not join. I hope someone will show me the way. I need some merits, thank you.
I looked at your post history, and most of the posts are pretty generic one or two line sentences which did not add a lot to the conversation, or did not help anyone in particular.
One example I found was this:
YAAYYYY! In bitcoin we trust. What happened last year was wonderful but this year is gonna be superb. Bitcoin will make history this year. The time to invest in bitcoin is now. I keep preaching and i am not gonna stop. This is the time to HODL.
One thing that really helps to understand when people receive merit, is checking out other users and try to understand for and and when they receive merits.
My post that received the most merits was a post in which i encouraged beginners to stick with this forum, and give them guidelines on how to become successful here. This post even received a merit by theymos himself, the creator and owner of this forum. I can only recommend you to read it, here is the link:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.40866526In short:
- Begin to read a lot, before commenting on things.
- Try to understand the concept of signature campaigns, and everything that is connected to it (spammy threads, people getting paid to post 20x per week). Then you will understand what kind of posts you should 100% avoid trying to post: posts with 2-3 sentences, that are not part of the conversation of a thread but simply reply to the original posters question, disregarding the whole conversation that happened before you.
- Always read through all comments, try to quote posters before you if you have something to comment, add or critisize about what someone else said.
- Try to stay on top of your English, proof read your posts and make sure there are as few mistakes as possible (it shows your respect towards possible readers). If you are not very good at English you can try sites like
https://www.deepl.com to translate your sentences into decent English.
- Have a point you are trying to make and if it resonates with people, you will quickly see how more people respond to you and take you more serious.
If you follow these rules, your first merit might not be that far away. I wish you best of luck =)
