BACKGROUND:Htmlcoin emerged in 2014 just as Bitcoin and other alt coins of the crypto world were beginning to firmly establish themselves as more than just passing fads. Htmlcoin founder, doctoral student Amando Boncales, saw the potential in cryptocurrencies and, even more so, the blockchain technology that all cryptocurrencies are built upon. He launched Htmlcoin with the firm belief that blockchain is the technology of tomorrow and harbors an important key to improving humanity’s future.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING:The exponential growth of Blockchain applications can benefit population health, medical records, and patient-generated data.
KSFI is partnering with the technology company HTMLCOIN LLC to utilize one of their products, The ALTHASH Blockchain on an initiative to introduce the use of Blockchain technology for non-profit organizations in the Philippines.
The importance of this partnership between the Funding Agencies and Non-for-Profit Organizations is the establishment and use of Blockchain technology among nonprofits in the Philippines.
On a Blockchain, transactions are recorded chronologically to form an immutable chain, and can be private or anonymous depending on how the technology is implemented. The ledger is distributed across many participants in the network—it doesn’t exist in one place. Instead, copies exist and are simultaneously updated with every fully participating node in the ecosystem. This has massive potential for nonprofit organizations.
A block could represent transactions and data of many types—currency, digital rights, intellectual property, identity, or property titles, to name a few.
The promise of Blockchain has widespread implications for stakeholders in the KSFI health care delivery ecosystem. Critical information is scattered across different clinics and sometimes, it may not be accessible when needed the most. The current healthcare infrastructure has often been called inadequate to handle information exchange and requires certain tweaks. Capitalizing on Blockchain technology has the potential to connect fragmented clinics to generate insights and to better assess the value of care. In the long term, a nationwide Blockchain network for electronic medical records may improve efficiencies and support better health outcomes for patients.
PURPOSE:This MOU will pilot the use of Blockchain technology for recording of healthcare transactions of KSFI’s Wellness network.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to formally create a mutually beneficial working relationship between the AltHash Blockchain and KSFI.
The above goals will be accomplished by undertaking the following activities:
1. Signing of Memorandum of understanding between ALTHASH and KSFI witnessed and notarized by the Philippine Consul at the Philippine Consulate Chicago, Illinois. The MOU will be uploaded to the AltHash Blockchain.
2. KSFI as the overseer of Wellness Family Midwife Clinics in Mindanao, A model clinic will be chosen as a beneficiary of having their newborns birth data registered in the AltHash Blockchain.
3. The team behind the AltHash Blockchain will upload/hash the research outcomes gathered by KSFI into the AltHash Blockchain.
4. KSFI will use Blockchain to apply advanced analytics from distributed sources without compromising the privacy of individuals.
5. The services of AltHash Blockchain used by KSFI for the purpose of this MOU shall not be limited by the services exhaustively mentioned in this Agreement.
STATEMENT:New Collaboration Promises to Use Technology to Reduce Newborn Mortality Rates
On September 26, 2018, at the Philippine Consular Office in Chicago, Illinois, Kinsang’an Foundation Inc. (KSFI) and the ALTHASH Blockchain, represented by HTMLCOIN LLC, will form a partnership focused on not-for-profit initiatives for social impact. The parties will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will be uploaded onto the ALTHASH blockchain.
A blockchain is a decentralized, distributed, and public digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers so that the record cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks and the consensus of the network. It offers immutable, cryptographic data storage and open decentralized ledger applications.
Blockchain technology provides particular benefits to the non-profit health sector work conducted by KSFI. As the overseer of the Wellness Family Midwife Clinics in Mindanao, Philippines, KSFI will select one clinic to serve as a model clinic whose newborns will have their birth data registered on the ALTHASH blockchain. The ALTHASH team will then upload/hash the research outcomes resulting from KSFI’s use of the blockchain.
This project has the potential to drastically reduce the global number of newborn deaths, which reaches upwards of 2.7 million each year. In 2014, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Every Newborn Action Plan in an effort to decrease preventable newborn mortality and stillbirth. In the present record-keeping system in Filipino healthcare, critical information is scattered across different clinics and is often inaccessible when needed the most. The current healthcare infrastructure has often been called inadequate to handle information exchange and requires overhaul. Capitalizing on blockchain technology has the potential to connect fragmented clinics to generate insights and to better assess the value of care. In the long term, a nationwide blockchain network for electronic medical records can improve efficiencies and support better health outcomes for newborns.
