The two are poles apart but they still reach each other.
HYIP is a high yield investment that can use your money to trade anything that can bring super returns in a shortest time e.g forex trading, binary options, cloud mining etc
Mining is also in two parts real life mining with your own equipments and cloud mining, real mining might not be highly profitable immediately due to the demand and supply of the coin in question but cloud mining promised some certain returns on your investment when you buy a particular number(s) of hahrates thereby the risk could be higher.
Whenever you are scammed by either simply remember that you are not suppose to do it in the first instance.

Real mining needs also investment just like those hyip and cloud mining scams. But it is better to invest for real investment and get real profit.
Rather than investment to those scam sites that you don't have assurance once they have already collected a lot of money from the people.

i think those two should not be compared right now , because we also see that there's no legit and trusted cloud mining services out there the very good example is the hashocean .

Lol you dont have to compare the HYIP and Mining i dont know if its a cloud mining services but it would go to scam also . So if you have a doubt and not sure if you really want to invest or not then do not go for it because at the end of the day you could be also a victim .

That's right, cloud mining are also hyip that scams people. So you better stop investing there and never to re-invest your money there.
And starting for a real mining with real hardware is really a good thing but I think mining difficulty will increase.
