HYIP and Mining is different, for example hashnest is cloudmining but it isn't scam, it's legal and there are also some websites, that call themeselfs mining, but in real they are HYIP. You have to analyze what is HYIP and what real cloud mining.

all HYIP is turning into scam mining is better than hyip but other mining sites tUrn to scam better you should do some research in the site you invest before you invest some bitcoins.
In general, stay away from HYIP. For cloudmining, invest in the bigger mining farms.

Very good catch, I just actually checked the op now that I have seen your post, he is actually shilling for the next in line to fall ponzi. At first I thought those little letters were some exchange site as usually the exchanger keep this kind of signature for them to promote their service. Anyway congrats on doing a great job as always fighting the scammers (cloud minings and alike).
If you compare between cloud mining site exit in the internet with hyip than i will say yes definately they work on simple principle that they survive till they can attract new investors every day. You can take cldmine as an example which shutdown few days ago. Its better to say hyip and cloud mining both are risky to invest.

Both of them its not recommended, most of the hyip is a scam but if you succeed in hyip you can earn faster than mining, Mining becoming more and more difficult and the return of investment is slow
Mining? do you mean like cloud mining? If it yes, the it depends on the site/service itself. If the site is trusted, then it's not a HYIP. But if it just like a bad site that may scam you, then it's probably a HYIP.
