In dreamland; he awaits you.
Which are you using? B or B+?
What configuration and build/image/source version? How to build?
I have been only running on Windows and am planning to move
several of my applications to Pi.

I have B+ 512MB RAM, newest raspbian, 8GB class 10 SDHC and i was building from source on raspi.

1. Quickest way: download binaries from github, install required dependencies (correct versions: libdb-5.1 and libboost1.50).
2. Hardest way: clone sources from github, install libraries, compile (takes some time), be happy of doing it yourself + you have most current version.

As I'm into it last days, I'll try to prepare some ready-to-use tutorial or even script which sets everything up.

Mine hyperstaked after 28h takes about 85MB of RAM and close to 100% of CPU while staking nicely. You can run HyperStake-qt instead with no problem if you like but that one requires more precious resources of pi.

How does automatic coin control work?

Personally, I wouldn't want to see automatic coin control added.

One of the things that keeps me intrigued about HYP, is the fact I HAVE to keep checking my wallet to ensure that my blocks are staking, then rearranging them to what I believe to be optimised. I could probably say I'm addicted to checking it.
Look at it like a garden - if you don't look after it, your flowers will still grow, but not as well, and there'll be some weeds creeping in there too. I don't want blocks under 1k, (weeds), I want nice strong staking blocks (flowers) to shine through and earn me my optimised interest, and at the same time, compound my interest to give me advantage over others who don't take so much care.

Now, if you decided to add an automatic coin control feature, then why not benefit the community wallet with it - set aside 1% of the S4C going towards the community wallet. If people aren't willing to optimise the results themselves, let them pay for it. 1% is nothing in the whole scale of things.

Honestly though, consider not adding automatic coin control - you'll take away what I see as a big part of HYP's addictiveness.

Just my opinion.......

I am a noob and not very cleva with the tech stuff so coin control is nice for us not so evident techies..  Cheesy

I'm staking on raspi if you have any questions.

That would be fantastic! I mean its not hard to just subtract the stake of coins that aren't staking from total, but when I have more blocks, it may become a bigger deal.

I propose that the HYP wallet shows in potential stake, only the stake of coins that are staking currently. I have some coins that are not mature and some that are, and it shows potential stake as combined stake of both, even though some aren't eligible for staking. Perhaps in future versions this could be better clarified as eligible reward and potential reward?

Yes this is a good idea. And maybe potential stake is not even the correct way to name it. It is really accumulated reward, and then of course staking is when you actually get the reward.

Coin control is going to become much more robust, and renamed to stake control. All information you would like displayed is up for consideration.

how hard is this to set up on raspi? just curious..thanks

I have some saying they would help me set it up, so I'll let you know. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too difficult, especially if your already familiar with operation Linux based stuff and navigating a rasp pi in the first place.

when HYP will be added in bittrex,..
HYP had been submitted some days ago. They did not reply.
Ask them.

A new entry in the FAQ: FAQ - What is the best block size?. Hope you'll like it. As always, you are welcomed to correct, improve...
Once the calculator will be available, the entry will be updated.

It will probably just not split your stake if it is under a certain amount and leave it all in one block.
Which means there will still be room left for some serious manual optimisation - at least for now.

Update: new entry on the HDJ: teaming up for new heights.
We have more ideas than abilities for the moments. I said before that I like to kill several birds with one stone; I also like to avoid reinventing the wheel.

I would like we focus on working in tandem with other coin when it will makes us grow stronger. Here are the one I identified:

Opinions?

Looked at rich list, funny/strange that guys at very top apparently do NOT use coin control, all kinds of haphazard small amounts in there..do you guys NOT care about maximizing your holdings..or does it really all grow the same anyway  Undecided

I use coin control at least 5 times a day.

Oh I do use it. Enough to know that automatisation is required (coin controlling 184 blocks is pretty time-consuming, although fun).

On an unrelated note, I just created slogans on the wikia. Have fun!

Looks like the faucet is running low...

Yeah, it went dry today. I've loaded 1000 HYP and lowered payout to 0.1 HYP (to be more related to current price).
