Merry christmas to any HYP holders, price woke up in the past couple days and my rewards have been less...more people coming in and staking their coins.

Active developers and active marketing going on, HYP will have a good 2018!

Hi,

I have a question, I recently found an old Hyperstake wallet from either 2014 or 2015. Is it possible for me to recover the coins that are in that wallet? I tried to install the new wallet ( from the website ) and see if I could open and retrieve the coins, but as you can imagine, that failed. Haha it is really from a long time ago, I have no idea if and how much HYP I have in that wallet. Anyway, I really hope someone can help me or tell me if and how I can retrieve those coins.

Greetings!
Or may be you have wallet from different coin, may be Hyper, not Hyperstake?
Try remove all database and start with old wallet, see balance and address on receive page.

No it is Hyperstake. I tried to open the old wallet, it didn't work. It gives an error and everything gets stuck unfortunately. But I'll try it again. But what can I do if I see the address? Is that important?

Did you download the latest wallet?

Address you can check in presstab explorer, if get error try start wallet with -salvagewallet option.

I have been away for a while.  Glad to see this coin is still going strong.  presstab's first post says that 15,000-30,000 HYP blocks are suggested for optimal staking.  Is this suggested block size the same whether you have 100,000 HYP or 20,000,000 HYP?

Try the following

1. Make sure you have a backup of your wallet.dat
2. Make new wallet, delete everything and Download the full blockchain
3. Shut the wallet down and drop the old wallet.dat in the appdata/roaming/hyperstake directory. (if you don't know where this is: right-click on windows "Start" > "run" and type in "%appdata%" and hit enter.
4. Fire up the wallet with the latest version and let it catch up.

If the above doesn't work you can try the following. Make sure the wallet is shutdown first.

5. From within the wallet executable program folder, press "shift"+right mouse click and select the command line console.
6. run the following command: whatever-your-walletprogram-file-name-is-called -rescan. Like so: hyperstake -rescan
7. If rescan doesn't work try -reindex
8. If you still don't see anything you can issue a "repairwallet" command in the wallet console.
9. As a last resort try step 5 with the salvagewallet command

What is the minimum balance I must have before I can even hope minting new coins?  I ask this because in many proof of stake coins you never stake anything if you have less than several million coins...
With 100k should be enough to stake once-twice a week. (Split in 4-6 blocks obviously)

Technically there is no minimum, however it is highly competitive as everyone competes daily for a limited number of rewards through which the coins takes 8.8 days of maturity to qualify to compete.  So the more coins one has the better it performs. A reasonable amount is 250k - 1mill+. How many coins are you talking about? ...and how do you setup your blocks?

Some have asked for ways of sharing HYP with their friends, but hard to explain. I hope this also help to give some ideas as well.

Something that some may not realize is that Crypto-city gets 24/7 organic traffic from Google, Facebook, Linkedin, Forums, Blogs and other channels aside from paid advertising. As a result HYP also benefits 24/7 as a prominently placed featured coin. Further we also fully support HYP with active outreach promotions both online and off-line, give-aways, crypto training, the whole works.

We give people ideas for HYP uses in the real world and how it affects them and their communities as it essentially is an agreement between two or more parties. Yes, some do use cash to get into HYP because it is much easier entry for them to get into crypto especially if they have friends or know people that have HYP.  So, for the people that use HYP in such cases it is not a fantasy scenario.

Personally, I've introduced HYP to people locally, on and off-line, first introducing them to  the ideology behind crypto and then to HYP and  give them an easy path into crypto without first trying to get bitcoin. Most times I just give them HYP at 10k per clip, but I will also accept goods or services so it just doesn't seem like charity depending on the people or group I speak with.

I've been known to accept sandwhiches, other yummy stuff or oddities for HYP that have done crypto training with me, or for some that come to my house take away my old steel and aluminum sunroom for recycling, I give them HYP.  Basically anyone I come into contact with I introduce crypto and then HYP, but I also show them how to use it with seting up their wallet, how to send and receive funds, and give them free trading lessons.

For me, crypto is a lifestyle that I've fully adopted and HYP along with that lifestyle. Crypto-city is a center for education and proliferation of crypto and HYP is my adopted poster child.

Let's see if that happens  Grin Grin Grin

I'm not an expert chartist but I'm seeing so many of these completing now I do not doubt a very strong possibility with HYP

Another alternative I see is a less impulsive rise to form another cup shape. Same outcome, just takes longer.

I'm most curious about this being compounded with the BTC price.
If BTC still rising then ... wow
if BTC falling then HYP is an great longer term store for BTC.

Either way I'm struggling to see much downside here.

I don't think there is much downside to buying hyp right now, the price has bottomed out really, never gone below 10 sats

The number of people in discord has been growing and growing by the day and there is many things in action marketing and development wise.

It really is a sort of "rivival" going on right now with hyperstake, even though it was never really dead. But tab is very active in slack and there are many developments coming down the pipeline. One for example will be the amount of time required to stake which will lower the barrier to entry for newcomers.

I still believe that when the number 2 market cap coin goes full POS, we will see a huge amount of exposure to novel staking coins.

Force Network - The Internet. Redefined
After a few hours of downtime it tooks a whole day to resync.
Is there something wrong with the chain or nodes or is it just me ?

Depends on the speed of your computer and connection. The blockchain is always being continuously written to. If your wallet loses connection or is off-line, it will fall behind and will resync when it is online again.

if simply lost connection it'll sync up and everything's fine,
will only resync completely if smth odd happened to databases -
IO error, incorrect shutdown, etc,
that's why do always keep good chain backup

Ok thanks,
I had a power failure so it was maybe a full resync.
