How many coins are required to stake once per day?

I had 28 stake rewards with 525k coins staking for 35 days (after I removed the 8.8 day, otherwise 35+8.Cool so for me it's been less than a stake reward / day but I still have some insanely unlucky inputs, like 20k coin inputs 47 day, 43, 39, that's 586k, 550k, some at 625k weight when the average weight seems to be 330k and most of them are at the 100k or below category (see the block explorer) very few dots are at 600k or above, by that time it really should find a reward. I would not split my coins into 2k-5k, I did mine at 10k but maybe bigger is better, at first I had them at 20k then I set it to split into 10k inputs and even this size can take forever sometimes, look at a reward of the dev http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/HYP/block.php?blockhash=22b4ff2a76f0b688e7e46677c8ecb674ceb63fcfac625e2d48435468f4cb8c36. This was a 11k input taking 392.14 Days to stake..now I'm curious if the wallet was staking 24/7 for that entire duration because if it did, then I must say, holy fucking christ, that's an insanely unlucky input.

For one stake per day you need 500K HYP, and split into 2000 - 5000 coins per block.

That is a loaded question. Depends on many many variables. Good to see the debate rages on.

The first page claims that with Hyper Stake you can get up to 750% stake interest. What needs to be done in order to gain this high stake percentage? Are all stakes only 1000 or do you get bigger stakes if you have more HYP?  I don't understand where the 750 % comes from.

That was initial staking percentage, but now it's 340 %. It keeps shrinking, because there is limit for blocks per day (960 if I remember correct) and limit for max stake (1000 HYP). As the supply increases, these limits reduces annual staking percentage.

What is the staking percentage drop rate? You said it's at 340% right now, instead of 750% what is the next level it will drop to?

The cap is still 750%. The results are different for everyone because of the competitive nature of everyone competing for the 960 available stakes per day. So,it varies from person to person over time as well as depend on how they split their coins and block size as it's also dynamic.

Ok after a lot of hours all is ok...

Staked and waiting...

But when I close the wallet and relaunch I have to wait hours again?Huh

Seems stuck again...

The last version starts up pretty fast, https://github.com/hyperstake/HyperStake/releases/download/v1.1.4/HyperStake-qt-v1.1.4-win32.zip or compile it for yourself if you use linux/osx. You only need to wait a lot once when you use bootstrap, afterwards it takes like 20 seconds with a quadcore + ssd, it might be very slow on normal hdd.

I tried to run the wallet for the first time but got following message: Unable to bind to 0.0.0.0:18775 on this computer. HyperStake is probably already running.
It wasnt running though, although some other PoS wallets are running, maybe they use the same port?

It might be just a one time error, if it's not, see which ports are being used, run cmd -> netstat -b | more (windows) that way you see the ports and processes or just try changing port to something else in the hyperstake.conf (%appdata), enter line "port=15325" (choose an empty one)

Did the overall network weight just go 10x ? My reward estimation went from 20h - 1day to 7 - 11 days.

We are the first to program your future (c)
is hyp supporting masternode
No, so far HYP does support masternodes tech. Just simple staking.

does not support masternode you mean.
Yes. There are no masternodes. Or the other way, does not support masternodes, so far.
If you want more info, check the following sites:
http://dashmasternode.org/what-is-a-masternode/
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coins-with-masternode-1572363

Also, there is no plan to implement MasterNodes in HYP.  The system works well with just the staking.

I think that masternodes could play an important role in the life of the network, though it not necessary should look like masternode realizations of other coins, that's why I asked about a vision of it. Masternodes in HYP at this stage of development could be something like a full node in bitcoin. This will bring the possibility to create a thin client (like Multibit in BTC) with the ability to stake.

A thin client will query full nodes for block header hashes and merkle roots to ensure blockchain consistency, full transaction along with its predecessor (a previous trix and its block) details (and probably full blockchain for the last 9 days to assemble the stake modifier) to make the staking possible.

The thin client will be limited in functionality (e.g., will provide only 800 HYP of the max subsidy) to stimulate users not to abandon full nodes. It’s a very actual question, especially taking into account the perspectives of possible emergence of protocol layers (like BTC’s Omni or Counterparty) which can make the blockchain practically unmanageable for the small staker.
