Crypto isn't a job.
It isn't, and if you get fired for "doing research" into crypto on work time, you absolutely deserve it.  You should have to state that fact on your resume, IMO.

I'm not sure what that "research" is, and I wish someone would enlighten me.  What I suspect is that people are either trading shitcoins or participating in bounties while they're supposed to be working, neither of which is "research".  People ought to look up what that word means before using it.

I've posted on bitcointalk while at work before, but I never kept that a secret nor am I in danger of getting fired over it.  If I was, you can be damn sure I'd wait until I get home before doing anything like that.  My job just has a lot of downtime, which can be a bad thing.

Haha hilarious, I haven't experienced this as crypto is my job basically but I can imagine your not alone in this boat. Would also bet tons of money crypto is more profitable than your job, but stick to learning for now Smiley.

Well it is tempting to do research online about bitcoin and being active by doing bounties, but at my work all bitcoin related sites are blocked.
A regular job must have a higher priority than your online "job".

Like the title says, i almost lost my regular job as a software developer today when my boss reviewed my work. The job has been able to economically provide a comfortable life for me and losing it would really be a big hit to my income. I almost lost it because i spent so much time learning about everything crypto (mining, trading, bounties, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel pretty lucky I was given another chance and want to remind other people that having a regular job is much better than relying on the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Make sure you prioritize your work!

And what can we do now? Sorry mate but I can't agree you. It's just you who can't do both at the same time and that's normal. If you can't do both, then why do you do them? Do one and well but there are a lot of people who can do a lot of things together.
For example I know one singer, Dustin Bates who has PHD in electrical trading and writes songs lyrics/instrumental and etc, this man is a frontman of Starset, he even created new genre in rock music. Imagine he was writing songs for another album, was massively promoting debut album in Live concerts and at the same time was working on his PHD.

profits always make us forget something more important when we see great opportunities, and they pursue them, so they forget the obligations and concrete and concrete results. the benefit of doing business in crypto is very tempting but must do it in a balanced way and should still prioritize work in the real world, because business in crypto is very risky and we can only predict its advantages and disadvantages without knowing the right results.

It's exactly my advice to many young people around me (inspired with btc and crypto), without much experience in the market and crypto.
Keep your regular job and do other staff in your free time.
Never quit job or sell house because of bitcoin.
It's crazy.
Guys, please be smart.

You may need to balance your fixed work and the time used to encrypt the world. If this job is important to you, you need to focus more time and energy on your work, and it will be easy to take encryption as an interest.

Its never happening to me,i used to do daily task of joining signature campaigns during my breaktime because i don't want to compromise my job while im doing bitcoin.
Proper time management is what i did mate because i want to profit both, bounty hunting and working on my regular job,to do two things or jobs is what i did inorder to succeed. This serves as my extra income inorder to sustain my families needs so i need to do little sacrifice to do weekly task.

I haven't experienced it yet (I hope not.) Well yeah you should prioritize the field job you have since this is where you can get a stable income unlike here in the forum there's no assurance when is your next opportunity. Well if you are going to study in regards with the cryptos or you're going to do a part time job here in the crypto while you have your regular job.

A Time management will do it, but you should be responsible for yourself it's not easy at first but once you're familiar with your schedule it would be easy for you. Well one tip I can give to you is that prioritize your regular job, work at night in cryptos and study in your day off. Well it's just my suggestion you can make your own way to do it, soon you will discover it yourself how you're going to handle all of this.

I agree!having a regular job was very important. we should treat Cryptos as our additional source of income so that if unexpected things happen we can have another means of financial support.
There's nothing wrong if you know how to manage your time, I personally doubled my time and be productive in finding money for my family and for my self to sustained daily needs. Having a regular job is a must and working in crypto is your additional earning job is also a good idea, all you have to do is manage your time. Full-time work in crypto also was good but it is very volatile it can't fulfill your daily needs.

It happens to most of us because sometimes we tend to change our priorities. However, you don't have anything to regret about that because everything happens for a reason and that also means that there's a new and bigger opportunity for you so just be happy about it and grab the opportunities that crypto could offer.

I have not experienced near job lost but I have began to think that I am not doing well currently at work.  Many of my time in office is been used for cryptocurrencies related research and I just did a little check on myself and find out that I have not been doing well in a long run.  However I am thinking of quitting my job to focus on cryptocurrencies trading.

It always does. Everything new is very attractive, and the crypto currency was no exception, especially when Bitcoin went up to almost 20K. But it was very attractive and probably a lot of people decided to just make money on it, even themselves left work. It's like in a casino + huge excitement + huge amounts of capitalization, but the main thing is to prioritize.

Great advice. A great majority have been blinded by the thought that they will get rich through crypto and this has made them prioritize less what is important like their jobs or families. Some even sacrifice their assets or savings just to be able to invest. It’s good that OP was able to maintain his job, especially since he has mentioned that he relies on it and it has made him live a comfortable life.

While it is fun to inform ourselves about crypto, we must remember to manage our time properly otherwise our other priorities will suffer. There are other far more important things like our job, and family even which we should spend more time on.

You should determine what your main job is to do the extra work to have a reasonable time distribution so that you will not become more confused than you. Recite yourself and be very bright to not repeat. such

Maybe is because you lack time management if not I don't see the study of crypto currency related activities that will take you that much time to the turn of you been treating of your job.
